Hi fellow townsfolk.
Life circumstances are shifting, and with an upcoming move and some other things going on, we're unfortunately looking to rehome our cat, Bano (pronounced kinda like U2 singer Bono, but it's Persian for "Little Lady," I swear). Our new circumstances won't allow us to keep her.
We adopted Bano from the Plano Animal Shelter in September of 2017, when she was just six months old. She's nine now and is becoming an old lady in some ways, but still acts like a kitten in others.
Bano is a hodgepodge of breeds, including Bengal, tabby, and assorted mystery cat (our best guesses, since we don't actually know or particularly care about her pedigree). She's also polydactyl, meaning she came out of the box with extra thumbs and claws. She's a big girl at 14 lbs (down from 18, so we're very proud of her weight loss), and she's genuinely one of the sweetest, gentlest cats you'll ever meet.
She is an indoor cat, never bites or scratches, loves belly rubs from absolutely everybody, lets pretty much anyone handle her (and is super gentle with kids even when they yank on her tail), and would happily spend her days curled up against someone while snoring. She's affectionate, trusting, and honestly a little dumb, which of course makes her all the more lovable.
A couple of things of note are that she eats prescription urinary food to prevent crystal formation and has a history of UTIs, so she'll need someone willing to keep up with her dietary and veterinary needs. The good news is that as long as she can hide her face in a shirt or someone's jacket, she's always on her best behavior for the vet techs.
We'd really love to find her a home where she'll be safe, comfortable, and thoroughly spoiled. She's a wonderful companion, and while we're heartbroken to have to give her up, we want to make sure she ends up with someone who'll love her as much as we do, in a home where she can be happy and comfortable.
If you're interested or know someone who might be, please DM me (PM me? What's the difference??). Happy to answer questions and share more pictures.
