Honestly I can say I enjoy it I have been working at this location for 3 months and everyone gets along my management is extremly good, apart from angry customers and the homeless issue its very good.

What happens to a GM who manually puts lunches on people’s time that they didn’t actually take and gets reported to HR? Coachable moment or some actual held accountable actions?

Does anyone have any tips for dog training classes when you have clients who pretty much just ignore everything you say? I had a class tonight where I pretty much just sat there and talked to myself for an hour while these people just yanked on their dog's leashes and yelled at them while they barked at everything. It was to the point where I literally told them that we're just going to have to repeat this class next week because we did not get to a single exercise that we were supposed to do. Most of my other classes are fantastic, and for the most part I absolutely love my job, but I swear every time an old lady signs up for a class, I just know it's going to be hell.

I got a notification that an autoship order shipped (I admit I forgot to cancel it earlier) but 1) it’s saying I had free shipping yet they’re charging me $7 for shipping and 2) wtf is this $20 surcharge? It’s a bag of litter for crying out loud

So all week every week we have 2 people at night shift, one manager one closer. But when the store manager closes they always make sure they have 2 people. Then to top it off morning shift has 2-3 managers and a cashier everyday. We get hit with a walkthrough and everything falls on 2 people on night shift because God forbid there be more people. $12 dollars an hour isn't worth this.

I love the eels so much! How cute are they in the tunnel together?!

Tell me your worst stories of old customers, whether it be how invasive and oblivious they are, how entitled they are, or how completely null their mind is. I want to hear them all.

Honestly I say Petco is going under and they just need to close. They don’t care about their animals and they don’t give a shit about their employees either

I have been working at petco for a few months and I havent had any super bad experiences yet the worst I have has is a homeless person walk into the store and knock all of the reptile lights off the shelfs and break a 10 gallon tank

How does everyone handle new people that don’t know about code Fido?

Do you guys do code Fido drills?

Any of you wanna share your experiences working on the Vet side of Petco?

newest shipment of bettas came in and a lot of them were veiltail but definitely do not look it 😭 just wondering if anyone else has had this happen?

So I just started working at petco and will be getting my first paycheck do you guys know what time on Wednesday if you have early pay it usually gets deposited?

Anyone else having issues with the donation question on their register and customer display.

So I see the vetco total care sign on my local petco but then when i ask it they said its only a vet clinic since plan fell through with the vet. I wondering if I complain to vetco they might put a vet in their or stleast change the sign so other people arent hoepful theirs a vet near by?

Edit: i was thinking more like if they should cover the sign till then. I dont want the employees at the store get karens for petci not doing something about the sign. My mother is a Karen and I used to work in retail. I know where it will go if they dont cover the sign atleast or post a notice on the window about it.

It has black specs now?

are stylists allowed to wear their own personal smocks after working in the salon for a year?

Just wondering if I wanted to become a dog trainer here, what does the job entail, how much training do you get, are you responsible for people signing up, whats the pay, etc? Is it worth it?

Just wondering how other locations out there handle it. Since the change in titles a while back as the assistant I’m now in charge of overall performance, counts, hiring and all things truck related. I’ve been with the company for just over 8 months and as much as I understand filling in where needed this seems a bit top heavy. We have a GM, Animal supervisor and a keyholder beyond me. Higher B volume store.

So how many days can we estimate that it takes for turtle and plant tank sumps to go wayy below the minimum fill line and for cricket water to be basically dried with nothing there? Just need an estimate because other leadera claim that while im gone(im the animal manager) that animals and tanks are being cared for and i have a suspicion that they aren't for numerous reasons.

What animal related jobs can you have alongside working at petco? Obviously no retail pet stores but is training, grooming, boarding off limits too? Or working at zoos, aquariums etc?
