Index 01 Index 01 shipped much sooner than expected – anyone else?

• Upvotes

I ordered a Pebble Index 01 this Wednesday expecting a bit of a wait since the website said it was a preorder and would ship in 1–2 months.

Turns out it’s already shipped and is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, less than a week after ordering (not complaining haha, just surprised).

Has anyone else had theirs ship this quickly? Curious whether the estimate is just conservative or I got lucky with the timing...

Pebble Time 2 vs. Pebble Time: Display Comparison

Thumbnail

I saw an earlier thread where people were discussing the display quality of the Pebble Time 2 / Round 2. I've had my Pebble Time 2 for almost half a year now, and I also happen to own the original Pebble Time and have compared the two displays carefully, so I thought I'd share my own experience.

  • The Time 2's display has worse viewing angles than the original's. Even in good lighting, the original Pebble Time is easier to read at an angle because its screen has a domed glass design.
  • With the backlight off, the Time 2's screen looks bluer or greener, and its white background isn't as "clean" as the original's.
  • The Time 2's backlight color is now adjustable, but even on pure white or the better white setting mentioned on Reddit, it's still not as white as the original's backlight.
  • The Time 2 has a touchscreen, and under strong light you can faintly see a grid pattern beneath the display. It's a minor issue, but it suggests the touch layer still uses a fairly old-style capacitive approach.

if nothing has gone horrifically wrong, they should be well into production and on their way to ramping up to produce 13,000 watches by december... seems like a truly huge number I won't lie

Index app 1.15 removed MCP groups, no way to give a gesture its own tool set anymore

Before the latest update, MCP & Tool Settings had Groups. You could create a group (e.g. a "Work" sandbox), choose which MCP servers belonged to it, and map a ring gesture to it. I had:

- Hold & Talk → Index agent with the built-ins (notes, reminders, calendar, timers) plus my MCP server

- Double click & hold → a separate group containing only my MCP server

That second gesture was the only reliable way to reach my custom tools. On Hold & Talk, the built-in actions tend to win: a work to-do with a deadline became a Reminder ("Failed to parse time"), and other commands just became "Added to Notes to self."

In 1.15.0 (firmware 3.75.0, Android / Pixel 11):

- Groups are gone from MCP & Tool Settings

- Each gesture can only choose Hybrid / Remote / Local Index agent, Web search, Webhook only, or Nothing

- All agent gestures now share one Index Agent action list, so both gestures behave the same

- The MCP server gear only edits the connection (URL, auth header, prompts), with no per-tool or per-gesture options

- "Any unclear requests become a…" only offers Note or Reminder, with no "do nothing" or "ask MCP" option

My MCP tools remain reachable, and the server logs show the app listing them, but the agent often skips them and files the request as a note. Light commands are 0/3 right now, and every one became "Added to Notes to self."

Requests:

- Bring back groups, or let each gesture choose which actions and MCP servers it can use

- Add a fallback option that doesn't create a note (or one that sends unclear requests to an MCP tool)

- Some way to tell the agent to prefer MCP tools over built-ins for certain phrases

Is anyone else seeing this since the update? Is there a new place to configure this that I'm missing?

A little demo of my phone connection monitor app

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve just updated my phone connection app. It is now touch enabled for Pebble Time 2 and Pebble Round 2.

https://apps.repebble.com/574ef949c57e45478400000e

The app works on any watch face in background. When your phone is left behind, it will pop up an alert and vibrate. You may snooze the alarm and it will remind you in future.

Interestingly, it is very easy for me to make the app touch enabled. It uses many standard Pebble user interface components and Pebble OS is smart enough to translate touch gestures into button events for the app.

The app runs in  background and unfortunately Pebble OS only supports running 1 background app at a time. I hope to see Pebble OS can improve there.

Lastly, I noticed Pebble Time 2 bluetooth connection isn’t as stable as Pebble Time. Please kindly give the app a try and see if your phone connection is stable, too.

Cheers.

Switched Pebble Time 2 Preorder to Round 2 and no update. Anyone else?

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I thought Time 2 preorders who switched to the Round 2 would get priority, but I'm still waiting on confirmation. I gave Pebble money for a new watch November 2025.

Anyone else in this situation?

App Shout out to Pebble AlarmSync!

Just wanted to make a post letting y'all know how awesome Pebble AlarmSync is! It's an app that mirrors your phone alarms on your watch. You can also snooze/dismiss them from the watch too. Sadly it's android only.

As someone with a very poor memory and little to no perception of time I use a ton of alarms to remind me of things (yes I'm very ADHD haha). This app makes that so much better! I don't need to pull my phone out of my pocket, and if I'm in the middle of something I can see the label, and quickly snooze no big deal.

Thanks /u/sifounakis this app is a godsend!

Edit: here is the link for the app! https://apps.repebble.com/pebble-alarmsync_664d221bedef4b3eb45a2654

Pebble Round 2: The Ultimate Smartwatch

Post image

(Watch face is Tangent by astosia)

I've had my Round 2 for a day now, and I felt compelled to share my thoughts. I've been a Pebble enthusiast from day one, and still have my Kickstarter Editions of both the original Pebble (in orange) and the Time (Steel). I loved my Pebbles and was obviously bummed when the Fitbit acquisition shut everything down.

Seeing Pebble return is kind of like a dream. I tried other smartwatches in the meantime (Fossil, Samsung, Google), but none of them captured the charm and joy of the humble Pebble. When the official app came back online last year, I started rocking the Time Steel again and I remembered why I enjoyed it so much.

Fast forward to yesterday, when my Round 2 finally arrived. I was excited, to say the least. Having worn it for just one day, I can confidently say that this is the best smartwatch made to date, and I'll explain why:

- Looks: This watch is stylish. I've always preferred round watches, including smartwatches, and this ine looks sharp. The body is sleek and well built.

- Weight: I am actually an enjoyer of chunky watches, but I must admit the lightness and thinness of this watch is amazing.

- Battery: The watch arrived with 99% battery, and after a day, I'm at 90%. This includes a lot of setup and playing around, so I'm anticipating 10 or so days of battery, which is plenty. The more the merrier though, of course.

- Screen: The round screen just looks great.

- Buttons: I had seen some discussion around the button presses not reading properly. I haven't encountered that yet, but will update this if that issue arises. I have found the buttons to have a nice click.

This does not mean there are no issues. The main qualm I have is with the contrast. The watch looks phenomenal in the sunlight, but less so in regular interior lighting. It is absolutely visible, but not as punchy as I think it should be.

Despite that, I am very happy with it, especially at the price point. I just wanted to share my initial thoughts while folks are patiently waiting for their Round 2s. I'll try to answer questions if people have them.

Buying USB-C charger dongle (EUR)

Hey there. Is there any place I can buy the charger dongle in Europe?

I see it is available on the official site, but I'd rather avoid the high shipping cost from US if possible.

Thanks

Time 2 restock period?

After much deliberation, I’ve decided to purchase the Time 2. However, it appears that all color options—except for black—are currently out of stock. How long does it typically take for items to be restocked?

*Edit: I just order ptr2. Before watch is ship, I should try to make Seiko metronom watch face(Seiko Metronome - Teddy Baldassarre) and other bauhaus design watch face.

Pebble Discover - A better way to find and discover apps for your Pebble

Thumbnail
gallery
40 Upvotes

Ever since I got my Pebble Time 2, I have been annoyed by the Pebble App Store. Don't get me wrong, it has tons of great watchfaces and apps, but I feel like newer apps get lost in the sheer number of apps and watchfaces available, with very few sorting options. I also find it annoying that you can't see how many likes/hearts an app or watchface has when browsing, and there's no way to sort by number of likes/hearts, date updated, or anything really when doing a search.

Meet Pebble Discover! A website that makes finding new apps and watchfaces much easier. You can browse through the entire app catalog, but also narrow your search down to categories. And since you can sort by the number of hearts, recently updated, trending, or alphabetically, it's much easier to find apps and watchfaces you didn't know you wanted.

So here it is! It works just as well on your phone as on your PC. When used on your phone, you get an "Open in Pebble app" button. Give it a try!

App Cannot sign in on lineageOS

I have my Pebble account linked with GitHub, but when I hit "sign in with GitHub" I get redirected to a webpage that then redirects me to the Aurora store. Uninstalling Aurora leads to the link saying "no app can handle this link". No GApps, tho I do have MicroG installed

The Pebble Round 2 just showed up, and it’s replacing my Time Steel and Forerunner 55. I’ve been wearing the Forerunner 55 more than the Steel lately for the better battery life. Excited to daily drive the Round 2 to see how it stacks up, and use PebbleOS again.

Also fyi, it’s very difficult installing screen protectors on the Round 2. Took me 4 tries, 4 ruined screen protectors, and it’s still not perfect. lol

New Pebble App DrinkBuddy

Thumbnail

I know, I know. There are already quite a few water-drinking apps out there, but as far as I know, none of them have touch functionality yet, right? Plus, everyone has their own ideas about how the app should work. For example, I wanted these features:
- Touch (saves the buttons)
- If I don’t respond to the reminder, it hides automatically and recalculates the next time.
- I can quickly and easily pause the app when I don’t want to be disturbed for a while, without having to switch to the app
- I can also quickly and easily disable it
- I want to be able to manually enter water intake and get a reminder if I forget to move the app to the background

It’s definitely a beta version, and I’d love to hear your feedback

Am I only one who think new pebbles are too big?

Yeah. Literelly. Pebble time's size was perfact although screen was small, But anyway, It was thin and light, small watch. But When I saw pebble time 2 and round 2, I feel it's too big like other smartwatchs. My eye is wrong or just photo looks big?

+Clearly 43mm rug to rug size is NOT small.....

Face Photo Face now supports Round 2. Looking for feedback from real-watch owners

I've added Pebble Round 2 support to Photo Face, my photo watchface, but I don't own a Round 2. Everything was tested in the emulator only, so I'd love feedback from anyone with the real watch.

Photo Face turns your watch into a photo frame with a clock, using your own photos:

  • Add photos on the settings page, crop with a live preview, and arrange them into galleries
  • Photos are converted on your phone and sent straight to the watch, so nothing gets uploaded anywhere
  • Your selection lives on the watch, so it keeps rotating offline. Shake for the next photo, or set a timer
  • Ten clock styles, all 64 colors, and date, battery, steps, heart rate and weather placeable anywhere on a 3×3 grid
  • Runs on the Time 2 too

https://apps.repebble.com/c1609136e0a3430bb1bf52b1

What I'd most like to hear from Round 2 owners:

  • Do photos look right on the real screen: colors, sharpness, anything cut off at the circle's edge?
  • How long does a new photo take to appear after a shake?
  • Does the clock or any data point clip at the edge in your layout?
  • Any crashes, blank screens or stuck loading spinners?

Known limit: on Android you can only add one photo at a time until the Pebble app's multi-select fix ships.

The same engine also powers Ghibli Time (https://apps.repebble.com/fc26309e8f9a44f9b70fbc9d), a Studio Ghibli fan face, if that's more your thing.
