The fact that Lightning Bolt is considered a “newer” Pearl Jam album and is already 13 years old is insane. I believe it’s a very solid “new” PJ album, but I would still put it among their weakest efforts. Many of these songs are good to great, but very few did anything to really blow me away. There are certainly some interesting sounding songs on here such as Infallible and Pendulum. Sirens and especially Future Days are beautiful ballads, and I also really enjoy Mind Your Manners and Swallowed Whole a ton. And even for the title track’s lyrical simplicity, I really love how it sorta leans into that to convey the sudden swell of emotions when falling in love.
All things considered, it’s a solid 6-7/10 album for me. Would love to hear other people’s opinions on this one

I run an indie music mag and am making a spread on things people have caught at gigs (usually picks and drumsticks etc - the weirder the better i guess haha) but watched a bootleg recording and a guy caught a tape at the end!! if anyone has one of these or caught anything from a PJ show i'd love it if you could drop me a message on here or on my mag's insta subterraneanclub :) thank you!!

I just came across a really interesting article about Eddie and the band. Definitely a worthwhile read if you are a fan. https://jacobpatrickartistreview.substack.com/p/pearl-jam-the-band-that-became-hugeand
