No one is buying a 5090 as a gamer.

Pleb poor comment tbh. These types of comments are such a brain dead sheep like comment shouting the same shit they saw someone else post. People 1000% buy these for gaming GPU’s. It’s literally a much better card than a 5080 for more FPS, plain and simple

But why is this “gaming card” freaking going up to $8000, might even go past $10,000 ffs just tells how awful the market is

We get the market is awful no one is saying otherwise! But to say it’s not a gaming card when it was marketed to gamers is pure cope. Can it be used as a workstation card? Yeah sure

The 5090 is not a consumer gaming card bud, it's a workstation and computing card. You want to know who is actually going to benefit the most from a 5090? Video editors, 3D artists, and data scientists. Not gamers. Stop with this elitist mindset that a 5090 is apparently needed for gaming, it's not. It's completely overkill and everyone knows that.

I game on a 45-inch 5K monitor and want stable 144 fps on max settings. The 5090 gets me that and the 5080 does not…not quite sure why this is so hard for you to comprehend.

Marketed to gamers when it released bud. It literally is for gaming lmfao. No one said it is absolutely needed for gaming. But saying it isn’t needed for gaming is flat out incorrect too.

If you only buy it for gaming then that is a stupid decision unless you’re filthy rich and made out of money

Doesn't matter. People who are running demanding workstations are going to benefit from a 5090 WAY MORE than gamers ever will. Simple as that. 32GB of VRAM is not needed for gaming, that kind of memory is needed for 3D work and 8K video editing. I don't know where you are getting this idea that a 5090 is needed for gaming, but you need to stop spreading that idea around. It's complete bullshit and you know it, you just don't want to admit it.

Ah yes I care so much about my thought process for a redditor. What’s really simple is calling a spade a spade and acknowledging the 5090 can absolutely be used and can be needed in demanding games and settings. To say it’s not needed is cope. Simple as that
