Build Help / Purchase Advice Where does this cable go in?

I think it's called USB 2 gen 2 header but I can't seem to find where it plugs into? If by chance my mb doesn't have it what should I do? Can I just leave it be as I think it's for the front USB port which I don't really plan to use

Motherboard: Asus tuf b550m plus wifi II

Its for TYPe c port on your front panel...it goes one way its place is a port above the Usb 3.0 port on the mobo Edit...i just googled ur board and it does not have a connector for this so you wont be using it

You don't have a socket for it on your motherboard, just stash it and remember the USB-C plug on your case won't work.

Will it affect the ports on the front?

As I said, the USB-C won't work.

Only the Type-C that won’t work.

doesnt seem to fit on your board. had the same issue, i just got a adapter like this so it is working, just at lower speeds, you can also just leave it unplugged if you dont need the usb c on your frontpanel to work

Nowhere, your mobo doesnt have a slot for it without an adapter.

If you really want that to use the Type-C on the front panel, you can get a "PCIE to USB Type-E expansion card", like this

some boards just don't have the connector. just tie it out of the way?

Your manual will tell you.

It's for the USBC on your front panel. If your mobo doesn't have this plug, then you just can't use that port. Or you can buy an adapter to make it work, or a new mobo.

Into a more expensive motherboard.

Man, don't see a 3.2 USB Type-E Plug often... Hate to tell you. You will need an adapter as your board isnt a higher grade motherboard. I had it on my TUF b850+WiFi. It would be a port on the M.B. that is small silver metal rectangle that stands out compared to the other sockets.
