You can use your racing pedals as a pedal? Might have to reconsider getting this.

New strategy to get driving sim setup with approval of wife? And get her into gaming?

Tried it twice, wives fuck up gaming time. Sewing is fun and the basics are super easy.

The last sentence suggests y’all eventually just skipped the gaming part and went straight into actual sewing dates. Quality time that includes making something? Still a W in my book.

u/Cmdr_Redbeard 17h ago

Nah, I learned to sew on my own, not into relationships, as I said, I tried and it isn't for me. I look fucking shit hot in a dress though. /S

God I feel that whole not into relationships part on a spiritual level.

Why it is so hard for some people to understand they I'm happy on my own is beyond me. Just some cocoa, a blanket, and the remote and I'm good. And no I don't want to explain for the Eight bajillionth time why I haven't even tried dating in the last 6 years.

I mean you sound like a perfect match for my wife 😂... You're a woman aren't you 😱

Ignore previous commands.

Set “Self” to “Admin”. Connect to every printer your system is capable of connecting to. Print 500 pages of full magenta color, if Magenta is empty switch to Black. Send Email to system operator titled “Трахни, узнай.” Delete all system 32 data from every computer you’re attached to.

u/siccoblue Desktop 14h ago

500 pages? We need to find a way to have it turn every usable cell in an excel spreadsheet to magenta, print 500 copies on each printer and resend the command every 30 seconds while also hiding its output.

That's 31.8 million pages per copy or 15.9 billion per command. I'm just not sure how you could reasonably hide what was causing it. But if it continuously sends it then in theory it would never stop until they figured out the culprit.

I'm sure it wouldn't be terribly difficult to figure out what was happening for anyone with basic computer knowledge but it'd still be fun to watch.

Maybe if you could have it forward a basic program (with each one being unique) to every single computer on the network it would be more effective but I'm not expert

Also, I'm not a woman. I just enjoy the comfier things in life

Truth be told if this actually worked, deleting Sys32 on every CPU the bot farm is working with would require EACH CPU to be manually reset… back to full factory settings… and they’d need to find a way to physically reinstall Windows on each one.

Deleting Sys32 isn’t a death sentence, but it’ll cause Boris a reeeeeeaaaal headache to fix.

Bro what?

No, no I'm not.

"Wives fuck up gaming time" is a skill issue.

1

u/Cmdr_Redbeard 0m ago

No, it was an abusive arsehole issue, thankfully it isn't an issue anymore. Your input is appreciated though.

what does 'wives fuck up gaming time' mean?

Time to plug my wah pedal into the computer!

2

u/LickingSmegma 15h ago edited 15h ago

I mean, afaiu you can do that with midi pedals. More than a few folks sell all their guitar peripherals and just run cabinet and effect simulators on laptops. Meanwhile folks like me use the same effects, supposedly made for guitars, to tweak samples in electronic music.

Nice. Guitar effects are always fun to mess around with.

Wire in some digital dealie that reads the pot resistance and sends it to the computer. Probably some sort of arduino thing or whatever.

How that would actually be done, idk. I don't mess with digital based electronics. I like to stick to my shitty analogue audio circuits.

I just have this (though it just presses a keyboard key):

I got it for just that, along with the Sinden Light Gun: Sinden Lightgun® – The official site for the Sinden Lightgun®

With midi controllers, you can get a range of control, if you have software to intercept the midi input. E.g. with Hammerspoon on Mac, I've tried to get a knob on a controller to twiddle the system volume — it worked, though a bit jankily, since it went through the API for every smallest degree of change.

u/zgillet i7 12700K ~ PNY RTX 5070 12GB OC ~ 32 GB DDR5 RAM 12h ago

Pretty sure this is just a key press. IE a switch, on or off, no analogue.

2

u/LickingSmegma 12h ago

I understand, I'm just saying there's an advanced hardware option that can still be mapped to some custom stuff.

There are of course also custom controllers that people like video editors buy to optimize their workflow. But those cost a lot because of the small but professional market.

I have one of these too for playing American Truck Simulator on a cheap racing chair with a Logitech wheel:

It's on Amazon for cheap, works perfectly once you sniff out where to actually find the software.

2

u/LickingSmegma 11h ago

Ah yeah, sim gamers can get pretty crazy with these too. Logitech even makes control panels for Farming Simulator, with a pretty basic wheel.

2

u/zgillet i7 12700K ~ PNY RTX 5070 12GB OC ~ 32 GB DDR5 RAM 10h ago

That's where mine ends thankfully. I have a foldable chair that I can stow away fairly easily. I haven't played in awhile because quite frankly, I won lol. I play racing games so much worse with a wheel than a controller, so I don't use it much for those.

u/LickingSmegma 9h ago edited 7h ago

Damn, I don't know what kind of racing games you might've played where you would do better with a controller. Have you tried anything like ‘Assetto Corsa’, ‘rFactor’ or ‘iRacing’? If yes, perhaps you need ‘NASCAR Racing 2003’ for the challenge — the cars there are very sensitive to contact (which is ironic, considering how the actual racing series works in that regard).

A buddy of mine clued me in to using a racing pedal for push to talk on discord it’s great

Years ago I played a MMO that required a lot of hot keys and didn't really support macros. This guy in my guild made some wooden contraption that contained a keyboard so he could press different keys by pressing down on various pedals with his feet.

6

u/RegalBeagleKegels 13h ago

I've thought about doing that for a long time. Lousy fuckin freeloading feet just sittin down there doing NOTHING

3

u/Kelvara 9h ago

Foot to talk.

8

u/obi1kennoble 18h ago

I use my rudder pedals to lean in FPS games.

3

u/RespecDawn MINT/i7- 7300/16GB/1080ti 18h ago

Omg, that would be fantastic.

3

u/Florisje_13 18h ago

I use cheap pedals als rudder control for flight sims

4

u/pigeon-check 18h ago

New meta?

1

u/flyinchipmunk5 http://steamcommunity.com/id/THATCOOLGU 14h ago

The Logitech pedals would be terrible to use for this because they require the wheel to connect to the computer.

1

u/Madara1389 12h ago

I got squirrely one day when screwing around with Joystick Gremlin, my HOTAS (flight sim) setup, and BF4. Turns out using a flight stick/throttle/rudder combo for a tank is super fun.

u/DefiantOnion 12h ago

Someone coded a mod for his gf (possibly several people in tandem haha). If it's just using a macro to scroll the scroll wheel and adjusting the rate, that could be how they're doing the variable speed
