How does one verify safety of things on GitHub?

Typically by reading the code. You can also download binaries (.Exe, .Apk) and upload them into virus total, or just paste the github link into chatgpt.

The last time I looked at any code was early 2000s Java, I guess CGBT is the best bet for me then. So I would just send the link to chatgpt and ask if any code is malicious? Thats crazy!

I hate it but they're right. Latest iterations of Claude are really good at coding. At least the version we pay for at work
