Need a protective, or better yet, vengeful ML. Like one who really snaps back at FL's abusers. Better if he doesn't start off deeply fond of her and rather develops the feelings over time.

But also don't have the FL be helpless. I want her to be her own character with her own will. I want the couple to feel like equals in terms of agency and intelligence.

Of course with a good plot overall

Every Manhwa/ FL isekai always resort to this in some manner. It’s so predictable and annoying and I already know how it goes. Evil step sister, white lotus, evil queen, evil princess, rapist scumbag, 2 bit criminal, pathetic ex fiancée, woman hating noble plots something against the FL during the hunting competition. She encounters a monster, ML saves her. They always always always always always end up in a cave where the strip and spend the night. Like can STOP this pls.

Especially the “stuck in the cave for the night” trope. It’s overdone and overplayed and it’s at that point I quit reading because they keep using the same thing.

It pointless too because like always the hunting incident goes unsolved and it doesn’t matter later anyways.

So lately all of the OI that I've read have ended the story with a battle/coup/assassination/treason/war/fight against things like the emperor/demon/evil saintess etc.

When the end is near these stories all become so similar, and it has become to bore me a bit. I do try to finish the story and despite the fact that there is not many chapters left I do a lot of the time stop reading.

So I've come to you to ask, is there any OI that you remember that doesn't have that?

Hey y'all! Lately I've been craving stories where the male love interest is closer to a commoner, than someone of high society. Majority of otome isekai I've read so far have some flavour of king/prince/duke/high mage/royal knight-ish love interests, so their status symbol definitely kinda comes as part of the package for their charm. I'm looking for examples where the male LI is interesting and well-developed despite not being a noble, and has great banter with the FMC. None of that aloof, feared, shadow-daddy stuff.

Bonus point if the story is set with royalty/nobility existing in the background, but actual LI is a commoner.

I don't mind if a royal/noble guy is potrayed as the MMC as first, but over time it becomes clear that the commoner is the actual endgame.

Fashion is one of the most important things in both character design and storytelling since it can show off little things about a character before it is stated. But fashion can also bring about very odd outfits and accessories. And nobility tends to have the oddest/most interesting outfits of all. And since nobility takes of a good amount of the otomeisekai genre, characters are more likely to wear things that are foreign to the modern day.

So what clothes or accessories, male or female, have you seen just looked odd or strange? And just how many of them were historically accurate and how many of them are just pure fantasy?

As an example, the woman in the art’s clothes and hair are loosely inspired by Queen Victoria’s wedding dress with the exception of the hair ornament. But the man’s clothes are pure fantasy and I just thought that it would make for an interesting silhouette.

Was just reading The Gangster Baby of the Duke's Family, which is a cute fluff piece where things always work out for our little female lead, but just got to the story where the female lead needed a knight to represent her and she makes the comment that no one could have suspected the one she invited to show up for her.

Like, miss ma'am, you mean the knight that was a whole gossip plot point 20 chapters ago, wherein he publicly spoke the knights pledge? Where upon going to the swordmaster's competition where you were having your brother try to defeat him, people were gossiping on the way in about the knights pledge at the entrance? Where he specifically lost because he thought it would make you sad?? that knight???

Hello! I'm looking for recs with an ML that is similar to Igren (the mage) in Villainesses Have More Fun.

Basically I want the ML to have femboy potential. Igren has that look with his style and stature.

Also super powerful, but nonchalant about it and doesnt show off.

Is in sync with the FL and treats her as an equal and not a damsel.

Is loved by a lot of people, but has a troubled past and trying to move forward in a positive way. Ex: Igren is the head mage in the Tower and loved by all mages. However, he harbors the sins of past mages.

I know this is really specific, but I loved this character sm! Hoping to find an ML basically just like him <3 TIA
