2nd image is my entire reaction to Hiyori. I didn't think she was unlikeable at all. She got to be a little too much in Haiji's route but at that point he my LAST route I chose and it was explained anyway.

EDIT: I didn't make it clear in the post but no, I don't think the only reason people dislike Hiyori is misogyny. I just never see so much hatred directed to male characters, especially when there's a male character in the game who professes the exact same beliefs as her. Even if it's not "hatred" and you just find her tropes annoying/too common for female characters, that doesn't make her poorly written either.

This is the fifth time I've aimed to get one of the confession endings for the Hiiragi/Mikage/Himuro friend group and failed. When I aimed for Mikage I got the basic friendship ending. When I aim for Hiiragi I got his basic ending. When I aimed for Himuro, I got his true ending.

I think I'm starting to go insane.

What am I doing wrong? I think I big part of it is that all the guys end up liking me too much. I think I need to stop being a weird little perfectionist and aiming for Rose Queen.

Any advice? Strategies that worked for you?

Just wanted to share the official art ^^ Unfortunately, I don't think they got Satoi to draw for it but it's still gorgeous nonetheless.

Okay I know we can’t ever truly predict these things for certain, but I’ve had my eye on this game since its Japanese release and I really, really would love it if it were to be localized. Especially because it looks so colorful and vibrant, and because it has eight LIs and two different MCs.

I know it didn’t get a dual language original release like HanaKare did, so does anyone have any insight into how likely it is that a company will localize Handsome Laundering? I know PQube also did a localization for HanaKare, so is it possible that they would also pick this title up? Or could it be someone else?

i've never played an otome game before but my sister and i have been playing jack jeanne together and it's one of the BEST games i've ever played. i was definitely not expecting to love it as much as i do, i especially love sou so far!! art is by me

i just start playing the game, and because i love costume cdrama (mostly the historical one) that got me so excited to play this, but i’m here for advice on the gacha part, for the banner, i’m not good at chinese (still learning HSK2) so i’m using translator for almost everything but i can tell they are two types of items that you can use to pull the card, the normal and limited one, and now they put this new banner that kinda look like a limited one but when i see the card list there’re some card that i could pull from normal banner, so i’m kinda confused is this banner worth to pull or should i just wait for the banner that are specific for the love interest ?

(ps. i did play few otome games growing up, but LADS and Light and Night is the only otome game that have a gacha pool in it that i really really into so my understanding was only from them, so i’m not trying to comparing them, it just that my knowledge is still shallow for this type of otome game)

Just got the Chinese LE! Not sure what to do with my extra copy of the game especially because it’s not English 🫠 Also the plastic poster thing is a little cracked unfortunately…

I ordered the Fan Book off Tokyo Otaku Mode but it’s still not here 🥲 oh well.

When I first heard about Cupid Parasite, I honestly got the gist of the game but never really diving deep into what it’s about. All I knew at that time was that I wanted to play it because I heard it was gaining lots of positive reviews 😂 unfortunately, it was only available on Switch and I lowkey wasn’t planning on buying it because they’re so expensive and I was like “do I want it that much tho??” And then I thought, “oh well, can’t have everything.”

When I heard it was now available on Steam though….INSTANT BUY ON ITS DISCOUNT. I play most of my games on Steam anyway so it was a good deal for me.

Again, I didn’t know what the synopsis was until I saw the trailer. We know otome games has a knack for red flag MMCs and we’re the “I can fix him!” FMC and we fall in love with them any way.

Boy this was next level problematic stuff in the most hilarious way possible 😭

The “Parasite 5” unable to find love because of major AND I MEAN MAJOR flaws is honestly so sad. But I gotta love Lynette (FMC) with how she handles things so professionally! Honestly girl, you’re tough as a rock for not giving up on them especially on Allan (the biggest red flag ever in the common route). I’m really rooting for the girl hahaha

Because I just started the game, with just finishing the common route, I know there are pleasant surprises in store for me.

I’m actually doing Shelby’s route first because my type of men in these games are the tall, serious, sarcastic, with dry humor, boss/CEO, swimmer body build, sometimes has glasses, when-they-get-flustered-it’s-so-cute-because-it-doesn’t-happen-often-and-you-catch-them-off-guard kind. (Some examples are Jumin Han from MM, Artem Wing in ToT, Lucifer in Obey Me!, Zayne in LaDs, Helvetica in Bustafellows…see the pattern?)

Shelby’s route is the most Kdrama thing I have ever seen and I am living it! Respect to the workaholics who discovers feelings! I can be a workaholic myself so I so get him and Lynette for loving their jobs. Just…not too time consuming, okay? That ain’t healthy. BUT AGAIN I AM EATING HIS ROUTE UP. I got 6 CGs so far and I’m surprised he has 16 so I kinda have a long way to go but we must not give up! We will see this through the end!

Also the banana scene iykyk cracked me up like holyyy 🥹 Lynette you can be so innocently freaky sometimes. But I like that about you plus you’re an adult.

The graphics too! The opening credits (is that what it’s called?) is rarely unskippable and yes, I don’t skip it that often! I’m absorbing every bit of it! The BGM too! So good! They’re really catchy honestly.

Anyway, just wanted to share that! I love otome games that have adult MCs and LIs within a working environment! I’m an adult so I guess my preferences change over time. I hope companies do more of these!

Just wanted to organize some thoughts. And dw, just cause something doesn't appeal to me I don't consider it objectively bad.

First of all. WOW.

I was really expecting it to be a college romance with the "fake lovers" tag on every route.

Never in my life would I have been able to predict this was mostly about the Japanese movie industry and a mama mia plot where one of the male leads may be the poisoned incest m&m (basically she doesn't know who her dad is and 3/5 love interests could turn out to be your secret brother.)

I also just really liked how it approached screenplay writing, it was very interesting in that front.

Second of all YIKES

I have not seen a translation THIS BAD since Cafe Enchante, I'm shocked none of the reviews I've seen talk about it, basically every other sentence is wrong. It's honestly impressive how bad this official localization is.

Now for some opinions on the game; The mc Chiyuki is so boring 😂 this girl so bland if she was a spice she'd be flour.

They really underutilize her background and she has no personality to speak of, just your average self insert mc.

So if you prefer the mc to be, well you, I think you'll enjoy her more.

Personally I want the female lead to be her own character.

For the routes, they were a very mix of quality throughout. They all start really good and then have one or two plot developments that completely ruin it.

I could not believe my own two eyes when Kazuma got into an accident on his way to go confess his feelings, then woke up in that hospital bed and said "who are you?" Girl I crashed out.

Similarly with Harumi all of a sudden deciding he doesn't need anime, so many of these plot points were shoed in conflict to just pad in the plot. It's not fun when a plotline feels like someone just paused the story and you can do is wait for it to unpause.

With that said; did I have a good time?

Abso-fucking-lutely. It was a nice popcorn read, like a romance webtoon in otome format.

About the routes and characters:

Sena Yukito is the actual GOAT of this game, it's insane how much of a kindhearted guy he is. Bro is so principled I hope he gets everything and more. Literally every single couple in this game was only formed because Sena is HIM. Sena Yukito is unironically responsible for every single happy end in this game (his route also said Trans rights so that's a plus.) My only complaint with him, was that their confession scene was so goddamn awkward. I could not take her going "thank god you're not my brother" seriously😆 I've heard people complain about Kirari, but personally, I'm a fan 💝 I love that bitch, I love that Chiyuki loved her, they should kiss.

Nishijima Riku was a surprise cause I was not expecting him to be so toxic?? LMAO, not him using actual blackmail, absolutely devious. I liked his route the best and thought it had the least bullshit roadblocks, not to mention he and Chiyuki had the most appealing banter to me in the game.

I will say that the date with Sena made me like him more and Riku less.

Wtdym you're getting mad and then making it seem like Chiyuki is a CHEATER for going to this date when you're the one that

1. Told Sena Yukito that Chiyuki was interested in him

2. Told Chiyuki to go on a date with Sena

GIRL YOU PUT YOURSELF IN THIS GRAVE DIG YOURSELF OUT

Kamikubo Kazuma, the resident cuck of the game, was very very cute. His route was by the books childhood friend who's been in love with you the whole time, but damn it I like that book. Too bad he ruined everything by getting amnesia, god that was stupid.

I will say, I felt REALLY bad for him in every other route, cause we just had to keep breaking his heart and it was honestly hard to watch at times 😿

Makino Harumi was very cute at the beginning his whole closeted Otaku plot was endearing at first. But he really gave me a sour taste in my mouth after the whole thing with his dad (who I knew for a fact didn't actually hate his son), it felt like I was watching the same scene twice cause we literally just been through this with the college fangirls. The worst of it was the way he yelled at Chiyuki saying she could never understand him cause her parents died.

Hello???? Dick move, dump his ass and go date Kazuma instead.

And for what? His dad is cool and hot af, I wanted him instead. Fucking die boss baby I hate you Harumi.

Asagi Eiichiro. Just gonna go ahead and say that I am extremely biased cause I don't like the teacher x student dynamic. This plus the fact he's a veteran in a industry she's trying to break into AND her boss, dude is playing bingo with unbalanced power dynamics. Call HR on this mf.

As a side character I actually really liked him, he never came across as creepy or in love with Chiyuki in the other routes, it was a nice wholesome close mentor and mentee relationship.

In his own route...I mean it could have been worse. It helps that he was barely there even though his route is so short. I think it doesn't help that Chiyuki genuinely admires him. If she was a DILF chaser I would have had a much better time, but she mostly seemed unaware of his intentions and her own feelings so I wasn't a fan, I'm sorry.

Overall: I had a good time even though some parts of it were really not to my taste, idk how people view rankings but to me 5/10 means that out of the max enjoyment I could have, I had about half. I don't hate it unless it's a 0 lol.
