Discussion Be honest, have you ever cheated in osu? (anonymous poll)
Obviously do not discuss any particular cheats in the comments and don't accuse anyone of cheating without real proof (that goes to r/osureport anyway). Cheating includes multi-accounting, cheat software, and boosting/being boosted.
I am interested in knowing why you cheated if you have, as I personally have never considered cheating despite slow progress and many many choked scores.
If you feel bad that you cheated certain scores or have multi-accounted you can email osu!support with the cheated scores/multiaccount(s) and they will deal with it accordingly. You should also tell them which specific cheating software you used to hopefully further improve the anti-cheat.

Misc The ultimate EMR tablet is almost here: 8kHz polling rate, support for most passive EMR pens, pressure and much more!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I present to you project Hyprbolt. This is a project I’ve been developing for some time, and my team and I will be releasing it commercially in the coming months after we sort out the formal stuff.
The first fully working prototype, shown in the video, already supports a wide range of tablet pens, at an internal sampling rate of 8 kHz, low latency, tilt detection, and all the features expected of an EMR drawing tablet.
Because the USB implementation on this prototype is limited to a 1kHz polling rate, the PC currently can’t receive more than 1k reports per second. This means the high polling rate on this exact prototype can only be utilized through firmware filtering, before USB debuffs it. The upcoming (manufacturing-ready) prototype will feature an upgraded high-speed USB interface that unlocks the full 8kHz polling rate. It will also offer the most comprehensive firmware customization experience available on any drawing tablet, whether for art or gaming.

Fun You just created a really fun map but you don't want to make more difficulties? What is the problem? Just downscale cicles sizes.
Good Lord, please stop doing this.

Discussion is osu! missing a collaborative multiplayer experience?
so recently i've been learning about World of Warcraft (yeah somehow i've never played it before lol) and raids are a huge part of that game. it got me thinking about whether such a collective experience can be achieved in osu! at the moment, because it seems that individual competition seems to be the gold standard in the community (e.g. the default pp ranking system, and now the new Ranked Play mode in lazer). even in team matches (OWC, Corsace...), it's essentially the combination of 4 players' individual performance on the entire map that determines a win or loss.
i previously suggested an upgrade to the co-op feature and i think it would be a great opportunity to design a gameplay experience similar to a WoW raid. basically, players would swap turns on a specific point in the map (a "swap trigger", essentially a bookmark) instead of every new combo - this way, greater flexibility can be achieved by the mapper in designing the gameplay experience for co-op.
thus, a 20 minute "raid boss" map could be made that demands various different skills throughout the map (e.g. deathstreams, high BPM alt, aim/finger control, etc.). players could then organize into "guilds" (spontaneously via matchmaking, or semi-professionally via dedicated teams) and plan their strategy to pass the map together.
maybe i'm not engaged in the community enough, but i can't think of an example in osu! comparable to what i'm describing here. yes, mappers frequently collaborate on making maps, and players collaborate on 100% ranked completion or achievement hunting, but the "raid experience" from a player's perspective is absent.
i think it's a good idea because it adds a dimension to the game at no cost/sacrifice to the other dimensions of osu! (some which i already mentioned). but what do you guys think?

Fun It took me 7 hours of playing to realise sliders had to be held down
I just wanted to share my experience here because I cannot believe I did this. Yesterday I downloaded osu and played for 7 hours straight by clicking sliders at the beginning, end, and ticks. I was so confused about how a slider with 10 ticks was considered easy. I was barely keeping up, but it didn't faze me much; I've never been great at precision games.
Then today I watched a YouTube video where the creator referred to osu as a game about clicking circles and holding down sliders to the rhythm of a song, and instantly, I was 10x better at the game (still bad, but you know); it was a much better experience. I cannot believe it took me so long to figure it out. Not to mention, for the first hour or so, I thought you only needed to click the sliders once at the beginning, but thankfully I figured that out on my own.
I am curious if this is a common issue for new players or just me. Regardless, this game is so much fun and terribly addictive. I cannot stop playing!

OC made an opensource osu replay renderer, all 4 modes
been building this a while. drop a .osr and it renders to video, either on the site (renderer.r3dwolfie.com) or through a discord bot that auto-renders in your server. self hosted, signup through osu API. cant post videos here, . still adding to it, lmk what you think (Halloween theme ATM) there's also a YouTube channel @R3DRenderer. Website and engine was mostly AI code, but all the engineering and logic is human made, as well as the website design, we're a team of 5 people (part time, of course). working on V2 website and V3 renderers, its a lot of works, we're not quite up to ORDR's/YUNABot's speeds but we do all 4 modes, so we take it.
let me know if you have any feedback. thanks :3.

Help I'm stuck at the same bpm with tapping, any advice?
hi :3 so ive been practicing tapping for 10 months now (since january 2026) and for some reason im still hardstuck at the same bpm and im still inconsistent even at that bpm the part i find weird is that this is not even a fast bpm. not even close to a fast bpm but after all this time i really have not improved any bit. i mean i can do 5 note bursts up to 170bpm kindaa but i cant stream anything above 140bpm? im still getting 60-80.00% scores between now and when ive started on maps of that bpm
what should i do from here? keep brute forcing 140bpm until eventually i give up or figure it out or do i move onto something like 150 or 160 where ill get probably 30% acc and just brute force that until it works out (if it even does)
or something else? if you want my profile for whatever reason here it is --> https://osu.ppy.sh/users/23996416

Help PLS HELP A CASUAL PLAYER WHO PLAYED LIKE 5 YRS AGO
WHERE is the tutorial? ;-; I think it´s called new begginings but i don´t have it, it doesn´t appear on the page, and I skipped it when downloading again the game (thought I still remember, I don´t)
Is there away to make the keys for taiko and mania always visible? I remember it used to be shown briefly before the game began but now it doesn´t show
Is there an in-game tutorial for taiko? I genuinely do not comprehend what side is blue or red and all yt tutorials i´ve seen are like "chang the controls to something you´re comfortable with and practice!" Is there maybe a skin that shows it or smth? Same with the long yellow thing
Tips for playing the regular one with a shitty mouse would be apreciated
Also IDK why my game is called osu!(lazer) I think I had the instalation pack already downloaded a long time ago because it said so when I tried re-installing it or smth. Is it normal?
I was a really noob player so begginer-friendly language will be apreciated ;-;
