Housing Thread Orlando Housing Thread

Link to last month's Housing Thread

Welcome to the Orlando housing megathread!

Currently, the following may be posted:

  • Users, whether current Orlando residents or not, may post asking for help. This could be asking for recommendations on areas of Orlando to live in, reviews or opinions on specific communities, or suggestions on specific places to live. This can also be things like "recommend a realtor / loan officer / etc" — so long as it fits under the "help me find housing" umbrella.
  • Users may also post advertising housing options. This can be posts offering subleases, looking for roommates on existing property, selling homes — so long as there is housing being offered.
  • ALL comments must include as much information as possible. Do not say "I'm moving to Orlando, tell me where to live."

As a reminder: our subreddit rules still apply. Advertisements for illegal activity of any kind are not permitted and will result in comment removals and/or bans as moderators see fit.

Discussion PSA: Beware of pothole making left at light Waterford Lake Town Center / Alafaya

Last night leaving the Waterford Lakes Town Center at about 12AM I was making a left at that light going about 15-20mph. Ended up being a very deep pothole that decided to eat my tire. Even my friend ran it over too, luckily he was spared by the jaws of the pothole. Its pretty low visibility at night so beware. I will be making a complaint to the management and Orange County.

Btw it seems that pothole has been there since March 2026 and they still have not fixed it. Had it been someone on a motorcycle it could possibly be a bad injury or fatal.

Still crazy to see $90 for a 700ml bottle (too much for my wallet sadly), but if you really want to make a Last Word at home, figured I'd put it out there!

Event EDC is next month... what do yall want travelers and festival goers to know?

Hey Orlando fam, I'm a local but I also attend edc every year. I see a lot of discussion happening in the EDCO subreddit around what to expect, especially from people attending for the first time or traveling in from out of town.

I was wondering, what do you want those people to know? Any good recommendations? Anything they should avoid? Anything they need to consider to be respectful of our local customs? (E.g. don't swim in ANY lake for any reason lol)

Event Stray dog running around 95NB ~2miles before Oakhill

I tried to catch her but she ran from me. She’s a petite light yellow lab/hound mix (maybe 45 pounds). She has had puppies, I don’t know how recent (I don’t believe fairly recent but it was hard to judge her nipples). I feel so awful, I called the state troopers and they tried to catch her but she ran back into those woods. I live in Daytona so I can’t sit around trying to catch her but if anyone else is able to… please!!!!

Like barely after that little overpass turny bridge, there are houses back in the area but I don’t think she belongs to them judging by how skinny and nervous she was.

Sorry mods if this is the wrong flair idk what you’d call it.

Discussion Southern Nights Phone Theft

Did anyone else get their shit stolen this past Friday? I was pickpocketed while on the main dance floor and didn’t notice until I was leaving :(. They keep turning my phone off and on and then took it to universal the next day. Sucks because I’m always super careful but I let my guard down that night. Just posting as a reminder to always be cautious and don’t be dumb like me!

Event Help make Halloween happen for local children!

We have an urgent ask for the Coalition for the Homeless (right in Downtown Orlando) for our upcoming Fall Festival on Halloween. The average guest is with the coalition for a minimum of 90 days, and 40% of our demographic is children.

Please help us give them a great Halloween experience during this transitional season in their lives if you are able to do so.

If anyone has any gently used or brand new children’s costumes, we would be thrilled to take them off your hands!
Please reach out to me or comment on this post if you, a neighbor, or an employer would be interested in assisting.

Thank you!

I’m going with a base of brominated water and white tea with notes of Merita bread over it all.

This is homage to our theme parks, countless hotel lobbies, and the days when that one part of I-4 smelled so good.

You?

Discussion Halloween In Orlando

Hi everyone! I know it’s common knowledge that downtown orlando is not the best option anymore on halloween to due to past events. But in my search for halloween events outside of downtown on actual halloween night, i’m not finding much.

I am an adult but I wouldn’t even be opposed to somewhere I could trick or treat as an adult without judgement. (do not say celebration or baldwin park it’s so crowded and not enjoyable)

I’m open to anything from raves, themed bars, trick or treating, halloween shows/performances, etc

can be in Orlando just not in downtown. Open to Winter Park, Altamonte, Sanford, Casselberry, you get the idea i’m sure.

thanks in advance!!!

(missing Cocktails and screams like crazy rn)

Discussion If There was a Train From Tampa Bay to Orlando (proper), Where would the Ideal Spots Be?

Say hypothetically, there was a double tracked set of electrified rails authorized by the Nixon administration and built during the Ford administration built through Florida. It snaked down the coast from Cross City (I was going to say Cedar Key, but that seems even less plausible than Cross City) to Tampa, then took a turn towards Lakeland, Disney World, and then Orlando. Disney still owns its section of land, but allows the rail to be built there. It then went into the proper Orlando City and ended at the future site of Orlando Airport. At this point in history it's a join military civilian site. But there were 19 stops from inside Tampa to the Orlando Airport. One of them is next to the future site of a baseball team that just doesn't exist at this time.

Note this is completely different from the proposed Brightline Rail expansion to Tampa so I'm not saying "What if the Nixon administration made Brightline 50 years early?" First of all, that proposal was for a 110 mph link to Tampa with few stops. Probably a lot fewer than 15 and certainly not 19. Next, it would cross into the tourist area of Universal Studios, Seaworld, and Disney World, not just the future Disney Springs skipping the rest of the tourist area. Third, that proposal involved a relatively straight path from the airport to the major parks and did not go into downtown Orlando.

Anyways, suppose this hypothetical line after Disney (and the site that one day becomes Disney Springs) went into downtown Orlando inside Orlando City Proper, made 3 stops inside the downtown area, and then snaked back towards the airport and terminated. The stops are a minimum of 3 blocks apart. Where would the best places for the 3 downtown stations be for people going between the non-Disney/ Seaworld/ Universal stops Orlando? We'll assume construction is done by cut and cover since I don't think you can fit above ground rails. I was specific about people traveling between non-Disney/ Seaworld/ Universal stops and Orlando since for some people going to Disney World the best 3 downtown stations would probably be in a very different place. Of course if there were going to be 3 downtown stations, the best place depends on what someone wants to do in Orlando (tourist for something non-Disney? Visiting a friend? Going to work?) but locals probably know better than I do where people go today. And even if the stops are optimally placed for people going between "non-Disney/ Seaworld/ Universal stops" it's probable some would use the downtown stops to get to Disney Springs anyways. I might need street addresses since I'm not a local.

Edit: Whoops, somehow didn't realize Tampa and Orlando had passenger service. Also I had no idea that compare to the pre-WW2 Passenger Rail like the Pennsylvania Railroad, modern Amtrak puts its stations far apart. The service still only stops once in Orlando though, so the question of "if there were 3 stops in downtown, where would the best stops be" still stands.

Discussion I need advice lol

I live in central FL. I visited Oklahoma to see family yesterday, and was almost late so I rushed through TSA. I believe I left my license in the TSA bins.

I’m now out of state with no way to rent a car or hotel, or even return on my flight home tomorrow.

I filed a Lost & Found claim with MCO but nothing came back yet. If they find it, great. They can ship it here and my plans are delayed and that’s it.

If they don’t find it, though…. How do I get back home?
