Hey folks, sharing a little project I’ve been working on: Omarchy PTCGL, an open-source installer and launcher for Pokémon TCG Live.
https://github.com/hucKOder/omarchy-ptcgl
I wanted to open the game from the app menu and have it behave like a normal window on my desktop. That turned into a small Go launcher using UMU + GE-Proton + XWayland, with the Omarchy integration handled for you.
A few things it does:
- Installs the official Windows game into its own Wine prefix with a pinned Proton build.
- Opens tiled, with resizing, workspace movement, and Super + F fullscreen.
- Routes browser sign-in back to the running game.
- Focuses the existing game when you launch it again.
- Provides update, repair, and diagnostic commands, plus desktop-menu actions.
And yes, it’s blazingly fast™. Had to get that in there. But genuinely, performance has been excellent on my machine—I think it feels even smoother than it did on Windows.
I’ve tested it on my AMD setup and played multiple online matches successfully. Now I’d love to see how it behaves on other people’s machines.
If you’re on Omarchy and play PTCGL, please give it a try! NVIDIA and Intel testing would be especially helpful, along with feedback on fresh installation, browser login, updates, and window behavior. It currently targets x86-64 Omarchy with the Lua-based Hyprland configuration.
Drop a comment or open an issue with your GPU, Omarchy/Hyprland versions, and your experience.
This is a spare-time community project, and I’ll keep maintaining it and keeping up with PTCGL and Omarchy changes. I also plan to contact the PTCGL team to ask about official support for this repository as a community-maintained Linux option and a way to coordinate compatibility fixes.
Would be nice to find a few more people in the overlap between Omarchy users and Pokémon card players :)
