News Who’s checking the searches on Oklahoma’s Flock cameras?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Flock license plate cameras create records of where vehicles are seen, and police can search that data during investigations. But when FOX 25 requested records from departments across Oklahoma, responses varied—and several departments didn’t provide the audit logs that could show how their systems were searched.

After previously reporting two cases of misuse involving Oklahoma City police, FOX 25’s Emma McAndrews investigates what the public can verify about how these cameras are used.

Politics Election Rumors OK Voters May Hear Before the Nov 3 Election

A "low Information Oklahoma voter" I help, recently sent me a text that said "

A very reliable Friend of my Cousin just finished Poll worker training and she texted me this:

"Just finished Poll Manager training. I passed all the classes. I want you all to know something.....when you are checking in at the polls and they happen to write anything on your ballot before they give it to you to put in the voting machine.... a letter, a check mark, a letter with an asterisk, an R or a D, any writing of any kind.....please request a new ballot. Your ballot will be disqualified if is written on. Please be on the look out. Make sure poll workers do not write on your ballot. It will cause your ballot to be disqualified. Please forward this to everyone you know. PassOn!

OP used Brave AI & Duck AI to confirm this is a false.

Other rumours (fake) recirculating:

These are rumors a voter in Oklahoma may encounter—not evidence that they’re true or that each is circulating locally. National election-watchers identify recurring claims about illegal voting, voting machines, ballot handling, and election results; Oklahoma has also had a recent wave of claims conflating public voter-registration data with a breach of election systems. Brennan Center for Justice1

  • “Noncitizens are registering or voting in huge numbers.” A name appearing on a voter list, or a data-matching error, doesn’t by itself show that an ineligible person registered or voted.
  • “Oklahoma’s election system was hacked, so votes could be changed.” In July, Oklahoma officials said publicly discussed voter information came from commercial websites, not a breach of state election systems, and that they had found no evidence votes were altered. News On 61
  • “Voting machines are online and can be remotely hacked.” Oklahoma uses hand-marked paper ballots and optical-scan devices that state officials say are not connected to the internet. Oklahoma1
  • “Absentee ballots are being added, discarded, or counted fraudulently.” A claim about a particular ballot or procedure needs specific, verifiable evidence—not just a video, screenshot, or unexplained vote-count change.
  • “A counting delay, equipment problem, or changing tally proves fraud.” These events may prompt questions, but aren’t proof that votes were changed; Oklahoma has paper ballots and post-election audits that can help check results. news9.com1
  • “A candidate or election official said something shocking”—with a convincing clip or image as proof. AI-generated or edited political content is a risk this cycle; look for the full original recording and corroboration before sharing it. justsecurity.org1
  • “The outcome is already fixed,” or “the election can’t be trusted before counting is finished.” Those are sweeping conclusions, not evidence. Ask what specific event or record supports the claim and whether it can be independently checked. Brennan Center for Justice

For practical voting information, check the Oklahoma State Election Board or your county election board. Their official materials describe the state’s procedures and safeguards, including paper ballots, absentee ballots, ballot custody, and audits.

Other Possible Rumours OK Voters May Encounter:

"The 'Sharia' Law rumor"

This is an Oklahoma-specific vector. A false claim is circulating that Democratic candidates are secretly calling for Sharia law. NewsGuard debunked a recent version targeting a Michigan candidate, noting that the candidate was actually criticizing the 2010 Oklahoma constitutional amendment that banned judges from considering Sharia. This is likely to be recycled against Oklahoma candidates to trigger the 2010 referendum's political fallout.

"Election board members won't certify results"

The "Stop the Steal" movement has evolved, with election-denialists now holding positions on key state election boards. Rumors are circulating that Republican or Democratic board members will refuse to certify the final count. This is a carryover from 2024 designed to plant seeds of doubt before the election even happens.

"Fake AI images of candidates"

Five of the 23 false claims tracked by NewsGuard are based on AI-generated images. Oklahoma voters may see doctored photos of state candidates (like those running for governor or Senate) in fake campaign flyers or "breaking news" screenshots. For example, recent false claims have included AI images of candidates appearing with controversial national figures.

"Mail ballots are being collected illegally ('ballot harvesting')"

This is a recurring theme. Rumors claim that operatives are going door-to-door or to nursing homes to "harvest" ballots and alter votes. This is often tied to false claims that the USPS is being blocked from mailing ballots to "unapproved" voters, though federal courts have blocked such executive orders.

Politics Second public poll of the governor's race: Mazzei 39, Munson 36 among likely voters, a third of registered voters still undecided

https://crosstimberspoll.org/

Likely voters: Mazzei 39, Munson 36, independents ~9, undecided 17
Registered voters: Mazzei 33, Munson 30, undecided 32
Stitt approval: 32 approve / 55 disapprove
Trump approval (OK): 41 / 58

The part I found most interesting: Republicans haven't lined up behind Mazzei yet. Across both of their polls, 55% of registered Republicans say Mazzei and 31% are undecided, while 87% of Democrats say Munson. The undecided Republicans mostly lean Mazzei when pushed, and most say they aren't following the race yet.

News [No Paywall] Inside this former MLB star's Oklahoma $8.95 million estate up for sale

Moving isn’t anything new for seven-time MLB All-Star Matt Holliday or his family. He, a 15-year major league left fielder, his two sons, Jackson and Ethan, both professional baseball players, and his wife, Leslee, understand the nomadic nature of the profession.

“We’re baseball people,” Holliday said. “We’ve bought and sold and moved a million times. So it’s kind of kind of what we do.”

Even when it involves selling their multimillion-dollar, 136-acre Stillwater, Okla., property that they built from the ground up. The house includes a full baseball diamond, batting cages, a custom pool, a pickleball court, running trails, and more in the backyard of the property.

“There’s lots to do if you like being outside,” Matt said. “Jackson used to go out there and hit golf balls. Make his own little golf holes all over the property, and hit it over the water. So, if you like to be outside, it’s a great spot.”

Holliday bought the property in 2018 for $3 million, started building the house in 2020, and moved in in 2022. It was once the most expensive property in the state, according to Realtor Wyatt Poindexter, who is selling the home at a listed price of $8.95 million.

By the time Holliday spoke with The Athletic in October, he and his wife had been living in Arizona since February, and were thinking about moving from that home.

For the Hollidays, home is just the walls that enclose their family at a given moment. But it doesn’t take away from the behemoth they built on the prairie and are now trying to sell.

Holliday is originally from Stillwater and made his major-league debut for the Colorado Rockies in 2004. In 2009, after a brief stint in Oakland, he was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals, where he spent 7 1/2 seasons, retiring in 2018 after cameos with the New York Yankees and Rockies again.

During most of his career, his wife and kids split time with him in St. Louis during the season and at a home in Jupiter, Fla., in the offseason.

“We were always together,” he said. “We didn’t do the living apart thing.”

Sen. Boren asks for public feedback ahead of interim study on Flock cameras

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Mary Boren, D-Norman, is asking the public to provide feedback ahead of her upcoming interim study on the use of Flock cameras to be heard in the Senate’s Public Safety Committee on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. in room 230 of the state Capitol.

Promoted as a law enforcement tool, there have increasingly been reports of citizens being misidentified in crimes, as well as officials accessing those tracking systems to stalk former partners.

“Oklahomans value their Fourth Amendment right to live without unnecessary surveillance,” Boren said. “There are also profit motives along with public safety concerns that I hope to address in this study. I would really appreciate hearing from Oklahomans about their experiences and thoughts about Flock cameras.”

Comments should be sent to [Mary.Boren@oksenate.gov](mailto:Mary.Boren@oksenate.gov). The public and press are welcome to attend the study, which will also be livestreamed at oksenate.gov/room-230.

-END-

For more information, contact: Sen. Mary Boren at 405-521-5553 or [Mary.Boren@oksenate.gov](mailto:Mary.Boren@oksenate.gov)

Looking to speak to Reading Specialists or Early Elementary who teach at Oklahoma schools. Will be great if you could connect me to one.

I realize Oklahoma has low NAEP grade 4 reading scores. I am trying to understand how we could change that.
