After a month off, it was great to get back into the groove and, honestly, this one couldn't have gone better! Everyone was very chill and we had a good number of new faces. It was nice to just hang out, chat, and mingle. We always appreciate everyones ability to just go with the flow and vibe together!
We continue posting some unedited photos, when given permission, just as a way to share more about our group.
I will post about the next meet in a week or so. Again, we are moving around to all days of the week to give everyone a chance to join us.
As always, I did want to comment for anyone that may be on the fence about attending, for whatever reason. Please feel free to reach out to me and I will do my best to alleviate any concerns that you may have. We aim to provide a very chill, laid back environment. I'm a very anxious person myself and often need a pep talk, haha. We want you to join us and push past anything that may holding you back. We believe that you will be glad you came.
Those who attended PLEASE feel free to share your experiences in the comment section! We'd love to hear yall's stories.
With that said: SEE YOU ALL IN THE NEXT POST AND EVENT!!

Only go to whisky chicks if you’re looking for a diet liquor drink because they water their bottles down. Let’s be for fucking real. Went to whiskey chicks, thinking it was a good spot to get some fire ass wings and drinks, per usual. BOY ARE WE NEVER FUCKING GOING BACK. I haven’t had a drink in A LONG time- the marg I ordered was straight mix and extra watered down- I took a lot of ice out to see if it helped-.i even asked for a extra shot to dump into it- it honestly didn’t change the flavor one bit and honestly I was very taken back by this whole experience. Not only fucking so disappointed because I came in not having a drink in a minute and that’s the service that we get. Three bartenders more focused on all the MEN on the other side of the bar to even look to see if our order was right. They usually do us right, every time. Not anymore. Even took a sip of my fiancées double of Jameson and ginger ale and it was WEAK didn’t even taste like a Jameson singleI have never been more disappointed in a place locally. Like ever. It’s like we placed an order asked for no jalapeños which showed on the receipt and my shit was absolutely LOADED. I got to the point that I just picked all them out and put them in the empty shot glass I ordered just to try and make my marg taste right. That shot glass was filled with jalapeños by the time I got done getting my plate right. We ordered the upgrade for crack tots with his wings and we just got regular tots and ketchup. I’ve never felt more dismissed by a restaurant and bartenders ever. It’s like they didn’t care. I just really needed a chill night and no one even cared to get anything right or fucking even ask. I would 10/10 recommend them for watered down diet ass drinks if that’s your jam. But to charge full price for a cup of water and lime is brazyyy. Mans didn’t even want to finish eating because we just felt so dismissed and honestly uncomfortable with the service and the drinks. I even tasted the extra shot I ordered to dump In my drink before I did and shits not well. It’s fucking well water. No burn. Don’t waste your time or money. You’ll be very disappointed:(. I hate to even write this but it’s was ridiculous and don’t want anyone else to leave as sad as we did. :(

Hi! I have a friend desperate to find a good doctor to help treat her (diagnosed with Hashimoto’s) thyroid and hormone imbalance issues. Her doctor is switching to functional medicine in their practice, and her insurance doesn’t cover it. Out of pocket costs need to be at a minimum. Thanks in advance!

Hi all! No one trick-or-treats in my neighborhood (found out the hard way our first year with two giant costco bags of candy), and my 5 year old I think is old enough now to enjoy trick-or-treating. I'm looking for a walk-able neighborhood where we could take her, if anyone knows of one?

Film Row/West Village is becoming a really nice part of downtown, and I think that means it’s time for more improvements. How does everyone here feel about expanding the streetcar system out that way? Is there any reason we shouldn’t do this? That and deep deuce are the two neighborhoods that are not streetcar-accessible downtown.

Oklahoma City is growing, and its airport has plans to keep up.
On Tuesday, city and airport leaders announced new details about expansions and upgrades at Will Rogers International Airport, where passenger traffic has increased 25% over the past decade.
“We have to plan and prepare for that growth at our airport, because we never want to decline new air service due to inadequate infrastructure,” OKC Mayor David Holt wrote in a social media post.
Plans include a roundabout on the drive into and out of the terminal, a new parking garage, a covered rideshare area and restroom renovations.
Inside the airport, crews have already begun replacing the concourse's tile floors with terrazzo. The change isn’t just for looks, according to OKC Director of Airports Jeff Mulder.
“The clickety-clack noise that we’re known for will be going away,” Mulder said at a press conference.
The flooring update is expected to be finished by early 2028. But many parts of this plan don’t have a set timeline. Instead, they’ll begin when the airport hits certain traffic milestones.
In a statement, Mulder called it “a monumental step” toward matching the airport’s traveler and air traffic capacities.
Officials ultimately hope to add 16 gates and quadruple the number of passengers who come through Will Rogers each year.

Hey OKC friends
could someone please refer me to a trichologist in Oklahoma who specializes in black hair? I’ve been experiencing an uncomfortable scalp itch despite my weekly washes and use of water based serums to prevent dryness. My wash days are very simple and hydrating for the most part. I treat my scalp the same way I treat my face. I don’t have visible dandruff, so I’m not understanding why my scalp is so itchy. When I look at my scalp, it doesn’t look red or anything. Before I’ve even stepped out of the shower after washing my hair, it’s itching. I’ve already gone to the dermatologist twice in the past 6 months with no resolution. During my most recent visit, she recommend a book for me to read about black hair. She’s Indian btw. I feel like I take the utmost care of my hair, yet it’s thinning now. I don’t understand why this is happening and I’ve been dealing with this for a couple of years now. It’s more noticeable now that I’ve stopped wearing sewins. I haven’t gotten a sewin since last November because it definitely was giving me traction alopecia.
Any help would be appreciated!

I checked Walmart and Target, but only saw complete sets. Looking for 12" or 14" with lid. These are words.

Just curious if anyone knows of a heavy canvas/boat/yacht repair/sewing expert. I have an old yeti hopper that has a broken zipper. I am trying to repair and reuse it instead of buying a new one so hopefully someone knows someone here! Thank you!

I am purging my house and in doing so, I found a VHS tape of my family. I'm hoping it has my parents, grandparents and kids on it.
Does anyone know where I can either rent a VHS player to watch it?
Would a VHS player connect to a flatscreen TV?
Do libraries provide VHS players?
I know this is a long shot, so thank you for any suggestions.

Two pups came up to my wife around the Eagle lake estates area. Very friendly. Seems like they haven’t been on the street long. We called animal control, but they have not returned our call.

Does anyone have any suggestions for good hair colorists that don't cost 200+ dollars? I've never gotten mine done professionally before but I'm growing it out now and have curls so don't want to mess with it myself like I would when I had a pixie and could just cut it all off every few months. I want to go from a medium to light brown to a dark copper / vibrant auburn. So only a level or maybe 2 lighter- so should just be a simple all over color. But I know reds can be tricky.

Hey everyone! I wanted to share OKC Heavy Boardgames, a Discord community for people around Oklahoma City who enjoy heavier, more strategic board games. (Brass, TI4, SETI, Scythe)
We meet up weekly at local spots like Primal Nerds, OK Cider, and Wizards Asylum to play games, meet other board gamers, and find people for our next table. We're going to have our weekly heavy meeting tomorrow, Oct 15th, at OK Cider and wanted to see if anyone else wanted to join!
You definitely don’t need to own a huge collection or know every rulebook to join. If you enjoy learning and playing strategic games with other people, you’re welcome!

Hey, Im a gay 29year old, living in shawnee area, about an hour away from okc, making it quite inconvenient going to regular hobby meet ups. Iv been trying to involve myself with the gay community more, and find groups, something iv never had the pleasure of, as iv always been tied up with work, school or something else. I now find myself wishing for that friend group. On part i had spent the last few years working on myself, and coming to accept myself. Part of that, is also that I’m trying to build a supportive group of friends, preferably people in the community.
Any advice? I started going to a PFLAG meet here in shawnee every 2nd Thursday of each month.

hey okc! just coming on here to gauge interest
not sure if many of you have ever played contract bridge before, but you probably know it as a card game mainly focused for retirees, and right now if (like me) you’re interested in playing, that’s the demographic you’ll find.
well i’d like to try and get it popular with younger generations! i know the title says young adult but i want to create an entry point for people of all ages!
if i were to teach a lesson and create a space to learn and play contract bridge (whether you have any prior knowledge or not), would that be something that interests you? let me know!
The downtown Post Office @ 5th and Harvey was closed when I went there at 1:30 today with no signage explaining why or for how long.
Anybody know what's going on with them?
I need to pickup some packages!

Went to the new bakery yesterday and got a small round chocolate cake pastry. I can’t remember the name of it. If someone goes and sees it, please drop the name here.
Anyone have recommendations on a good disability lawyer? Last time I tried to work with a guy from Legal Aid and he...forgot the filing deadline 🤦♀️. Willing to drive to them if they're reasonably close to the metro.
r/okc • u/chefslapchop • 1d ago
Avoid driving. Roads are going to go from bad to worse over the next several hours especially in flood prone areas.
Edit: damn y'all are grouchy
