I feel like this is crazy bold but hey I guess there are worse things 😂 like, tent camping? Where would LO sleep? Bassinet mattress on the ground?

Oh! RV is way easier than tent. LO won’t know the difference! I guess just be close enough to civilization just in case? I would be nervous to be so remote and not near a doctor/hospital just god forbid since LO is so young

My mom took my brother camping in the Everglades before he could roll over. According to family lore mom put him down in the tent to grab something and when she came back he was covered in tiny black balls. They were mosquitoes too fat to fly, and were just rolling off him. He's never had any sort of reaction to a mosquito bite ever since.

How often do you camp? And will you have full hookup and hospitals and such near by in case of emergency?

it’s a 53 minute drive from the closest hospital and we camp at least 2 times a year. first time in a rv but will have someone whos experienced with us too

Honestly if you guys feel like you’re cruising right along through parenthood well enough to consider going camping this weekend— you’re probably fine to go camping this weekend.

I think as long as the other experienced person with you is experienced with hooking up an RV and all that comes with it, then that all sounds great and you should do it!!

^ to add, I’m sure you guys would also manage just fine with YouTube videos if you weren’t experienced with an RV, but you never know how those high stress moments will go down with a newborn on the off chance they’re fussing; which is why I think being experienced is a bonus!

Do it. You’ll either be sleep deprived at home or sleep deprived in nature so do it! Be prepared for emergencies and have a fool-proof emergency plan if you need to seek help. Otherwise, enjoy!!!

Van Camper here. We put baby in the pack in play and we slept in the bed. Our van doesn’t have heat so we got a Morrison outdoors sleeping bag (sleep sack) they’re pricey but warm! We didn’t start van camping with the baby until she was 9 months.
