What's a song that immediately tells you you're in a good barbershop?
You walk in, hear the music, and immediately think: "Yeah, these guys know what they're doing."
What's playing?

So I'll admit that metal just hasn't ever grabbed me like classic rock and blues has. My favorite band period is Pink Floyd and favorite guitarists would be Dave Gilmour and Stevie Ray Vaughan. But, I do like some "old school" metal from bands like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Metallica (whom I have seen live) and Megadeth, to name a few.
But I'm looking to expand my musical palette a bit. However, I'll admit up front I'm not really into metalcore (or whatever the sub genre that focuses on guttural screaming is). Even though songs like Bleed by Meshuggah have cool riffs, it's just not my thing (the screaming, I mean). I like music that has deep lyrics, good guitar work and something I can bang my head to like with a lot of Metallica's early stuff. I like the vocals as much as the rest of the music too.
So anything that meets these criteria I'd definitely look into.

Know any songs about finally finding belonging - finding home, peace, relief, or fulfillment?
I've been doing this event/gathering with a group of friends where we listen to music and discuss the deeper meanings behind the songs we are hearing. Each month is a different topic and us moderators try to curate a playlist of songs that align with the theme. We want a wide varity of quality songs from different genres and sounds. Right now we are on the final topic in our Hero's Journey series.
Some songs to inspire you that we've already considered are:
- i by Kendrick Lemar
- Mirror by Kendrick Lemar
- Home by Flyleaf
- Joy. By RAYE

the artists in question are blackbear and melanie martinez, i also listen to
-new mgk
-nessa barrett (also has controversies)
-alec benjamin (ai)
-patd (no comment)
-21 pilots
- jxdn's TMAT album
-mckenna grace
-forest nolan
-some emo music [sws, ptv, bring me the horizon, bad omens]

I’m looking for music like these:
I find it nostalgic.
I’d prefer it if it was the actual music like above, and not just added to normal ambient music after the fact by editing.

I’ve been listening to Confessions II by Madonna a lot, and plenty of the album’s songs feel like I’m floating into the sky while closing my eyes and performing the sickest dance moves ever. I wanna feel like that Jon Hamm gif. You know the one where he’s dancing while his eyes are shut and there’s flashing lights?
I’m mostly talking about music here, btw. Lyrical content can be about anything.

So I’m here because I LOVE listening to music was hoping to find some good songs and/or music-related shows/anime/whatever pretty much. If it helps here’s a short list of songs I like: “Hey there Delilah”, “Carolina reaper”, “Welcome to wonderland”, pretty much all songs by Arctica the Fox, “Heaven’s gate”, “Ophelia”, “The milk carton”, “City of angels”, and “Belong together”. Obviously there’s LOTS more, but I feel that’s a decent list to go off of, hopefully..
Anyways, any help is greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance :3

Does anyone have an eclectic taste in music?
I love all genres of music, I really don’t have a preference. I know most people listen to just rap, hiphop, punk, jazz, rock, garage and that’s it but I could never do that. You should see my playlist. It’s literally the A-Z of music. One minute I’m listening to a movie soundtrack (Tarantino) next minute I’m listening to Oasis, George Michael, Spice girls, Eminem, Rebecca Black’s DJ set, Jennifer Lopez, the temptations, sister sledge, Prodigy, Slipknot, Muse, Linkin Park, Artful Dodger, Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Doobie brothers, Eagles, Boy Better Know, So Solid Crew, Lola Collete, Beatles, Backstreet Boys, Chic, INOJ, Jackie Wilson, Papa Roach, Dionne Warwick, Aertha Franklin, Christina Aguilera, Louis Armstrong, DJ lick n MC Neat. Also a lot of WWE/ wrestling superstar themes like Randy Orton Voices. I think you get the picture lol. Music isn’t about genre, it’s about a rhythm, a beat, a symphony, a harmony and every song tells a story. Please share your lists and preferences.

I adore the band Beartooth. They have this song called "Eyes Closed" and from 2:08-2:17 ish, they have this part of the song where the guitar (and maybe drums?) make this "crunch" type of sound. It sounds really pleasant to my ears (even though I am partially deaf), and for some reason, all I can think of is those vampire-esque teeth (like in the picture) that you get from the arcade crunching down on a metal band logo, and hence why I call it "crunchy".
I SWEAR I've heard this exact same type of crunch in other songs and I'd like to find them. Older, newer, whatever. A friend of mine says that he believes the technique is called speed picking and palm muting or "Djenting". However, when he showed me other examples, it almost felt like it was close but it didn't have that quickness of the "crunch". So I want songs that have that but then have that really brief pause after that gives it the emphasis if possible.
Again... i swear I have heard more songs that have this. I know it's never going to be exact to the Beartooth song. But... yeah. I'd love any help you can give.
Thanks!

I make playlists for while I'm working and am running out of songs. It's spooky season, so I want more Halloween-type songs. It's an open kitchen, so it can't be too explicit.
Songs I typically have on this playlist: Monster Mash, If I Only Were A Goth, Bloody Mary, Enter Sandman, This is Halloween, Season of the Witch, Bad Moon Rising, The Haunted Phonograph, Weird Science, The Vampire Club, The Purple People Eater, Cry Little Sister, Calling All The Monsters, Ghostbusters, A Gorey Demise, Midnight Special.
