Mod Post Hey everyone from r/Motorola!

Hi,

So r/Motorola has been running "moderator-less" for the past 6 months, in that case I have taken over as top mod currently and here are some of the changes that I have done.

What changes have been done to the sub?

  1. Automod has had some slight rule changes to how it moderates, now you don't need to put that annoying flair in brackets before the post title. This should hopefully clear up some of the accidentally banned posts that looked fine in the long run.
  2. New Post flairs:
    1. Hardware Problems/Issue, is for physical problems with a device that you may have questions with.
    2. Software Problems/Issue, is for software problems that don't feel as "normal" that what it normally is.
    3. Need Help in general, is for if you don't know what flair to put down for your device.
    4. Update, is for follow ups from a previous post.
    5. Question, is for questions about a device or support options about a device.
    6. Product announcements, is for official product announcements from either Motorola (with link provided) official social accounts or articles about the device that is being announced.
    7. Product renderings, is for speculation about a upcoming device but is not a confirmed device.
    8. News, is for anything that is news about Motorola but not Lenovo, Please do not post the same article from the same source more than once, if you do that will result in your post being taken down.
    9. Poll, is for anyone wanting to take a poll from the community, however to prevent spam a poll must be issued by a moderator, want to make your own poll just simply send us a message via modmail.
  3. New User flairs:
    1. Added some new flairs for the new devices that has came out in the past few years.
    2. "(enter series)" is for you to modify so it's easier to identify your device, this can be the generation number (5,6,7 or 100 for example), the model year (stylus 2021 for example) and if you don't know your devices model name just find it in the settings (Settings > About Phone > Model), this should start with "XT-" and 4-5 numbers following it.
    3. If you can't find your device model just send us a message via modmail.
  4. New Rules:
    1. Read the sidebar before posting, most of these rules are in place to either prevent spam or to keep everything in line with stuff being Motorola on this sub.
  5. Moderators:
    1. u/MotoAgents is a Motorola Employee/Help agent that can help you with the problems that you post, if you have contacted Motorola support through the website and still need help please keep your case number handy as he may be able to continue helping you with your case.
    2. Me, I'm here to keep the rules up to date and make sure the community is in balance, just to fully disclose this that I am not a Motorola employee and most of my responses are from experience or stuff that I have seen on the Internet.
    3. At the moment we are not taking Moderator applications, however that may change in the future if this community does grow.

If you have any suggestions for the mods please leave a comment if you think something should be added.

Update It's the ugliest thing I've ever seen.

The folder interface in Android 17 looks awful; you have to be a complete idiot to think that a 3x3 interface without adaptability in case there are fewer apps is a good idea.

Just got the update, saw someone else get it on a different post so decided to give it a try via the settings and there it was! So far it looks good and the animations seem smoother. Battery is going down though (6% in 30 mins) hopefully this gets better with time. Motorola Edge 60 Pro with the Openla software channel.

Question Has Motorola announced any flagship phones with a built in stylus?

• Upvotes

I genuinely don't get how the mid tier phones get both a headphone jack and a stylus, yet the flagship are basically glorified cameras that you need to buy a stylus extension for cause the phone apparently costs more yet has less.

Warranty rejection without any explanation

• Upvotes

My warranty claim is rejected for pink line on the display after update.
Took it to the customer care and they asked me to submit my phone and after three days i get call from them stating that there are scratches on the display and minor scuff mark on the frame at the top. Technician opened the device in front of me when i submitted it and he confirmed there is no internal damage or any other hardware damage. I asked them to give me written explanation asking how a minor scratches on the screen on the unrelated place with no problems on touch or anything for which they rejected and no to get my phone back i need to sign on the document that says warranty is now permanently void and the damage is customer induced. hat should i do?. Should i file grievance with the consumer affairs ?. Most frustrating part is even technician knows that the scuff marks are there from the start and they said they submitted the photos to he motorola and said it was them that rejected. What kind of premium service is this ?

Question Red magic user wanting to switch to Motorola

Hi there, the new Motorola Signature 27 really caught my eye this year compared to other phones. I was wondering:

- How is Motorola as a company? (Customer service)

- How easy is it for local repair stores to source parts?

- How easy is the warranty service?

- How are the updates for the Motorola phones? Do you guys receive regular updates?

- Does Motorola care about bug fixes?

- Are there regular accessories, for example like screen protectors for the Motorola phones and cases?

- Is the software good or is it bloated? Does it come with intuitive features rather than gimmicks?

- How is the camera processing?

Poor video recording quality - Edge 70 Pro [AVOID]

Hey guys, unfortunately after a few days, I’ve checked the video recordings are terrible, an issue that also existed with its predecessor, and one I was completely unaware of.

It seems that Motorola completely neglects its software and places greater emphasis on its designs.

Luckily, I am in time to return it...£700 for this 😂😂😂 Moto must be joking

Hardware Problem/Issue Bought a ₹32K tablet, but the replacement display has new issues. How many times should I get the screen replaced?

I recently purchased a tablet worth ₹32,000 from a trusted third-party dealer. Around 10 days after the purchase, I noticed some dull spots on the display, so I approached an authorized service centre to get them fixed.

The service centre replaced the display, and they said the tablet had passed all their checks. However, after comparing it with my friend's tablet of the exact same model under identical display settings, I noticed some new differences:

Yellowish display: My screen looks slightly warmer and less vibrant than my friend's.

Cyan/blue colour bleeding: There is a noticeable cyan tint along all four edges of the display, especially on white backgrounds.

More reflections: My screen produces sharper, mirror-like reflections of my face, lights, and windows compared to my friend's tablet.

These issues aren't very obvious when using my tablet on its own. I noticed them mainly when comparing both tablets side by side under the same conditions. However, once you notice these differences, it's difficult to ignore them, especially considering the price I paid.

I'm now confused about what to do next. I've already had the display replaced once, and I'm worried that repeated replacements might introduce more problems rather than solve the existing ones.

I don't expect every display to be absolutely identical, but I do expect a satisfactory display on a ₹32,000 tablet, especially after an authorized repair.

Has anyone experienced something similar? What would you recommend I do at this stage?

Thanks in advance!

Question It seems mobile data toggle is irritating..

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Since updating to Android 17 on my Moto Edge 60 Pro, toggling mobile data has become an extra-step process. Unlike Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, which toggle instantly with a single tap, clicking mobile data opens an intermediate dialogue box that requires a second confirmation. Is there a setting to fix this behavior?

Or if not then this needs to be streamlined in a future software update.

Android 17 - North America - RAZR Ultra 2026

Just got the Android 17 update on my RAZR Ultra 2026 North America Unlocked version. Thought I would share as I have personally been chomping at the bit for this update ^^
My carrier is T-Mobile but I'm not certain that matters with the Unlocked version but it might have.

Hardware Problem/Issue motorola one 5g uw sound stops every few seconds as of this week

i have had this object for years and never encountered this issue before, nor on previous weaker phones. all the audio files are local, the battery mode doesn't affect it, switching it off and back on was the first thing i tried, i have 82 gigglebytes of space free, no new APPs and in fact just cleared out about 15 more dumb games that verizon or whatever added back in just because it felt like. the "reset adaptive sound" option that verizon's website says i should try does not seem to exist. I even installed malwarebytes despite its own hassles just to scan for that sort of thing and none came up (then promptly uninstalled malwarebytes and cancelled the trial subscription it forced me to select a credit card for).

video also stutters but the sound stops before the video does and i prefer not to use this device for that anyway.

incidentally it also stopped being able to modulate its screen brightness when i am outside or turn on the flashlight with a shake gesture this past week, though i haven't tried to play any music off of it since last week and maybe these started together. i may even have dropped it again last week. i can accept if the thing is broken but prefabricated help pages insisting it MUST be the same four things that it isn't infuriate me and i mostly want validation, though being able to fix it would be nice.

Software Problem/Issue Motorala signature camera

Photos often come out hazy and suffer from excessive motion blur, especially when capturing people or moving subjects. Night photography is another major weakness, with poor image processing that ruins the overall quality.

The camera consistently removes the warm yellow tones from photos, making them look too white and unnatural. Please preserve the natural warm lighting and yellow tones for a more realistic look.

As a former Xiaomi 14 Civi user, I can confidently say that the image processing on this phone is rubbish. The camera sensor has genuine potential, but the poor software processing completely ruins it.

What's the point of having a good camera sensor if the software can't do justice to it?

Edge 60 Pro not supporting Oticon Reveal hearing aids properly

The oticon app works and can find the hearing aids via bluetooth. There is a problem specifically with phone calls. I ruled out the hearing aids by installing the app and pairing on my S26 (really underwhelming phone by the way). Everything worked fine on that.

We tested two way communication using a facebook call. Came through clear and the builtin mic on the hearing aid was definitely working. Phone calls yield a full volume chopped nightmare. It comes through on both ends, but for the user of the hearing aids it's unbelievably loud. I can hear them from across the room. It's like the audio is at 100% volume being pulsed at a pretty decent number of Hz. There is definitely audio being carried across in the noise but there is something clearly wrong. We tried another dialer app to try and eliminate more variables. Same issue with that app too. So it's something specifically to do with phone calls.

I can't narrow it down any more. All I can think of is maybe some weird bug in an Audio codec that the phone is specifically using for telephony, or some kind of related duplex bug.

I'd really appreciate some help with this. The phone is maybe a month old. The ideal outcome is that the hearing aids can function fully with the phone. The only other outcome is to get a refund on the phone somehow to replace it with something else. As far as I know it should have been compatible but it has a showstopping issue. It's a shame because it's a nice phone.

Need help in general Edge 70 Android 17 problema na rede móvel

Bom.
