Great fix. Looks like you forgot to spray the adjacent color before spraying your tan to get a clean line after removing the tape. Just my 2 cents

Welcome to the loving world of modeling. Where every step is a potential, deafening cry to sleep or a joyful victory on the face of defeating uncertainty.

For the next time, make sure to burn your fingerprints off your fingers before painting so this doesn’t happen again.

My condolences sir, also hilarious. 😂 So recognizable.

Indeed. Not the first time, nor will it be the last. Really annoyed though cos it obviously happened when I glued the assembly a couple of days ago and I only saw it now as I was doing the dry fit 🙃

At least it wasn't on the fuselage or wings. Ive done that before and I wanted to throw the model out of the window

Looks great man, ever since i saw it for the first time ive liked the ki-45 for that awesome camo.
Your camo works really well by the way and I can imagine that over a landscape of forests and streams I couldn't find it.

Thanks dude. TBH I didn't research if I could wet mask on top of tamiya Acrylic. I didn't realize how bad it would bleed thru. Lesson learned.

Looks a bit weathered to me but doesn't jump out as a problem! so don't worry about it too much.

Is that abit of Nuln under the tail?
3
u/Complex_Ostrich7981 18h ago
Indeed it is, the Citadel nuln oil is a great little all purpose weathering/wash workhorse

Thanks bud, the preshading takes a lot of time and patience but looks good when it works out alright.

lol, I had a light finger print on the oil / gloss coat of a model. Made me get second at our latest IPMS show. Could only see it with a flash light.
Was pretty pissed when they pointed it out to me

And that, kids, is why you wear gloves...

Even with gloves, it'll still mar the wet paint.
But yes, you should still wear gloves when handling a model that's being painted. Keep all the oils and stuff off.
