Completed Art

Significant other wanted more art for the house and less models sitting on shelves. Really happy with how this turned out! Recommend Michael’s shadow box frames. Pop the glass out and a great canvas to plop models on!

Absolutely fantastic, I may try this with some of my models. How were you able to mount them within the frame so well?

I’m sure there is better ways but I used ca glue and wall tack. Secures it on both sides via glue, but allows a little moving because of the tack

I guess they don't have landing gear and you're attaching to the belly of the plane then?

Yep, no landing gears. Thought of it like mounting butterflies/moths

These look great!

Now the next level would be to use those two shadow boxes as "up" and "down" arrows for an elevator at an airport.

(or some other arrow related directional message)

Haha it’s been fixed. When I originally mounted them and photographed the secure point on the back was flipped upside down. All fixed and looks much better!

An artist would find a way to juxtapose that modern weapon in that orientation with an ancient weapon, a spear perhaps.

The b1 is a 1/144 academy. The f117 is a hasegawa 1/72

Popping the glass out is the step most people miss, the frame only starts reading as a shadow box once the reflections are gone. The deeper ones give you room for a full base rather than a single model.

I think they thought they were B1 and B2 bombers, but the second one is an F117. B1 should be facing down towards the first floor, while the “B2” should be pointed up to the second floor. Which I kinda agree with tbh
