I'm genuinely struggling to imagine a worse way to coil a cable/hose if your goal is to not have a kinked up cable/hose.

The kinks are gonna appear when you unwind it, with it overlapping like that. You can't simply pull it when wound like this

It's loose in the bed of his truck, though. You can't really just pull a hose without it being on a spool/reel anyway (I mean you can, but it won't go far lol)

In fact, this will specifically not twist or kink the hose. The two coils are matched and wrapped in opposite directions. Now, just tossing it in the back of the truck could cause tangles, but impossible to get kinked or twisted.
