Just so you know bb, its potentially illegal to carry prescriptions in containers that aren't the labeled containers. If you get pulled over of something, they might give you a hard time over it.
No its not. I've looked into this many times because of the multiple prescriptions my daughter takes. I even looked when I was flying recently could I take all her meds in those weekly medication things and the answer is no problem. the ONLY time it's an issue is if you are traveling internationally.
Got a stack of ativan on my desk. I don't take it daily and try to avoid taking it too much during the week because of how bad benzo addicition is, but man when i'm having major anxiety it's a huge help.
Dayum, that must be a big ol dose. I have a very small prescription (like .5mg or something) for just some random insomnia induced anxiety I sometimes get and my pills look nothing like your pills (I mean aside from them being the same color lol).
Years ago my doctor gave me a prescription for 5mg Ativan. He started to tell me how much to take but then just went "ah, you're an adult, you'll figure it out..." and sent me on my way. Didn't tell me how much to actually take just a suggestion maybe to break one in half (which I didn't do). Not long after I was blacked out and ended up waking up from sleeping in my apartment doorway with my door open after taking god knows how many of those things and going out drinking. And that's how I learned not to drink on benzos and how strong Ativan is all in the same day. Lol
I have a vague memory of taking one then going the mall. I took another while at the mall because I wasn't sure it was working. Then things get pretty fuzzy. I am pretty sure I took another one at some point then I remember being at the goth club. Then I remember sitting in front of my apartment in a cab. Then I woke up in my doorway with the door wide open and like half my body in the hallway and half in my apartment with my shirt off...
I was a lot more careful with them shits after that. haha
Yeah, that shit was strong and I had never taken any kind of benzo at that point so I had no frame of reference. The part of the day I do remember was fun though. haha
Yeah, it was really weird... He started to tell me and then halfway through his sentence he just went "ah, you're an adult, you'll figure it out" and just kind of ended the appointment and left. He was like halfway out the door as he was telling me. Lol
I eventually ended up switching doctors and got on clonazapam instead. I don't remember what the dosage they gave me for that was now but it came with more instructions.
Just curious- are you also taking another medication besides just Ativan? Doesn’t sound like the best drug just to take as needed for a problem like that assuming it’s just a once in a blue moon issue that comes up.
Like most psychiatric drugs, they mostly have a placebo effect and it actually doesn't provide pharmacological benefit to most people, roughly 80%, who take it. Psychiatrists never explain this to patients because psychiatry is a scam.
Edit: Boneheaded downvoters are free to google "Number Needed to Treat" and educate yourselves, unless you want to be anti-science and believe falsehoods like religious quacks.
Its like the original Underdog cartoon but instead of speed, you put anti-speed in it.
Also- I can't take that. It literally puts me into a psychotic state 2 hours after it settles in. Now if there was a Klonopin in their, I would be happy. Its the only benzo that doesn't make me mean.
Note that it's mostly a placebo if you are taking it to reduce excitement from psychosis. Ativan has a Number Needed to Treat (NNT) of 5 for this, meaning that 5 people need to be treated for 1 of them to receive pharmacological benefit. This means that most people who take it, 80%, either receive no benefit or only benefit from it as a placebo. I doubt your doctor explained this to you because psychiatry is a scam.
Edit: boneheaded, anti-science downvoters are free to google this and educate yourselves, but maybe your psychosis is getting in the way. It's a simple and verifiable scientific fact that this and most other psychiatric drugs are known to provide no pharmacological benefit for the majority of patients who are prescribed them.
