I'm slightly vexed Verizon Router plug blocks 3+ outlets

Post image

These new routers have a terrible plug that not only is so wide that it blocks at least two plugs below it, but actually extends the other direction and blocks the outlet above as well!

It's probably more than a couple pennies even at scale

I'm not fully sure about the efficiency, but the main things that happen in the block is converting from AC to DC and stepping the voltage up/down. It's better to have precisely what you need asap rather than holding what the utility company gives you into whatever you're powering

Sorry that probably doesn't make much sense. It's hard to describe in text

It indeed doesn't make much sense. It's the same power supply regardless of where the brick goes.

I'm sorry that's not how it works

I'm not the best at explaining these things, but just use your favorite AI. It can explain it well enough

If I wanted hallucinations I'd take better drugs than I have on hand. Outside of incredibly minor nitpicking, how does a little extra copper between the power supply and the outlet matter?

AI is better than alot of people give it credit for. Especially in instances like this where none of this argument technically matters

Not sure what you mean. You can follow the other thread where I'm having a discussion with another person if you like. There's good quality stuff you could learn over there if you're interested

You mean the other thread where you pointed out how heat actually makes wall warts less efficient, and where you got your Tesla and Edison factoid backwards? bad bot
