I'm slightly vexed Verizon Router plug blocks 3+ outlets

Post image

These new routers have a terrible plug that not only is so wide that it blocks at least two plugs below it, but actually extends the other direction and blocks the outlet above as well!

Or they could do the smart solution that many other manufacturers of electronics have done and either build the unit with an internal power supply, or they can move the ac adapter further down the cable so the plug will fit a standard power strip.

Sure that’s a solution. But not necessarily a universal solution for every electronic. It’s much easier to just get a power strip that fits your needs. They exist.

Easier for who?
The consumer or the manufacturer?

The consumer, who has the problem and is looking for a solution.

It would be even easier if they just made everything so the end is a regular skinny outlet on everything, with a few inches of cable before the brick.
Then I could fit all the skinny ends into pretty much any adapter.

But I guess I don't pay enough for the products for them to do that.

Idk man you can’t really expect things to be catered exactly to your specific situation. I’m sure lots of people use these skinny strips in scenarios where they only plug in things that fit perfectly. Meaning no problem, it’s what they’re designed for. If you have devices that require additional space, the easy solution is to obtain a proper power strip that fits your needs.

To me this seems like a creating a problem so somebody has to find a solution situation. I see what you're saying but it wouldn't be hard for some devices, not all devices, to stop having these massive socket blocking plugs
