To be fair, AI is infiltrating everything, and it IS mildly infuriating.

It's mildly infuriating to certain people, true, but it's also a huge bandwagon where a lot of people are mad at it but not familiar with the actual uses or consequences

u/DurasVircondelet 7h ago
Could you elaborate on how that could be a problem with more people speaking out? Isn’t the net outcome still positive?

not familiar with actual uses.
Narrator: there are no actual uses for AI.

Just say you don’t know how to use it 😂

Congrats on using the Machine That Idiots Need. We're all very impressed. I don't have a use for it personally.

This is the problem. I do basic level IT, only touch up on complicated stuff every now & then. “AI” is good enough to do the complicated stuff like 90% of the time. Yes you should always double check its work but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s doing what would normally take me a couple of hours in a couple of seconds.
I personally don’t like using it for work because if I have to explain something about it there’s a solid chance I’ll be a deer in headlights.
It’s not just an idiot machine anymore, it’s pretty capable of doing some gnarly ass shit. Especially the new Claude 5.5 that just came out recently; that thing is a complete freak of nature & is super freaky to work with. If you skim through some gaming subs they’re all infested with Claude 5.5 mods that would’ve taken weeks or years to develop yourself.

Insert prompt -> press button -> get garbage "art"/incorrect information.

AI just applied to tons of jobs for me (500+) and within 2 weeks I had two interviews and starting a new job with a 40% raise. The AI handled all communication with recruiters and interviewers. All I had to do was show up

The fact that you think Ai is only used for “art” or information tells me you don’t know wtf you’re talking about.

You should see crochet groups. Every other post is an Ai generated photo of something impossible to make with the question "is this real?" the poor people who buy Ai patterns unknowingly and getting scammed by it.

I mean, if you can make $9 a pop off of people who don’t care if it’s AI, why wouldn’t you? Do you hate AI more than you love money?

u/Delicious-Towel5813 6h ago
lowk putting a order rn on alibaba and setting up a tent outside of nursing homes

u/NatterinNabob 7h ago
$8.99 for a bag clip is mildly infuriating. Those things should be dirt cheap.
As far as the AI goes, I don't give a fuck. I don't look to my bag clips for aesthetic appeal or artistic inspiration. If they were cheap I would be fine with some stupid AI dog.

u/Round_Intern_7353 7h ago
And I bet they sell like fucking hotcakes too. Ugh I hate living in the era of incessant slop
4
u/Dazzling_Vanilla3082 7h ago
If all the pet subs on reddit are any indication, they are exactly the target audience to exploit with this stupid slop. It's mind numbing how they see a "cute animal" and all critical thought in their brain just shuts off.

u/Round_Intern_7353 7h ago
To me the worst part is that you can actually make some really good quality images using AI if you put even a little work into it. The fact that EVERYONE uses such garbage, obviously AI images is so frustrating. Like I don't love that people use AI for legit, commercial purposes, but if you do, at least try to make it good.

The pressman who printed this shit should be ashamed....let alone the "designers"
2
u/QueefMyCheese 7h ago
Why are you using effort as a metric? It's really weird to mark the value of something by the amount of suffering endured lmao, just call it slop because it is
0
u/Aboelter23 7h ago
That’s the definition of slop though, the lack of effort put into the final result.
4
u/NatterinNabob 7h ago
If "no effort" is the definition of slop, then why say "no effort slop"? Isn't that kind of redundant?
1
2
u/QueefMyCheese 7h ago
It's quite literally not. You would call it slop regardless if the dude ran on a hamster wheel to power the thing. Because it would still be slop. It doesn't stop being slop because a paraplegic had a rough time typing a prompt.

When I want to a little autumn carnival I have in my town there was a whole tent set up selling ai slop flags, stickers, signs, ornaments, posters, etc. If I'd had enough money I'd have bought the actual art from the wood carver beside.
1
u/VividPups 7h ago
bro you are upset about an AI thing you look at, pass it (didn't buy it), and you will probably forget about it within a month
2
u/Delicious-Towel5813 7h ago
it stuck out like a sore thumb, it was the only thing in this store like this. I was only mildly infuriated in the sense that someone has the audacity to sell these with 0 effort and for that price
-1
u/Past_Aerie_5860 6h ago
If AI wasn't shoved in people's faces where they work and eat, or even relax (Youtube or streaming programs showing AI slop) and using the internet in general with every little AI chatbot that you can use to assist you!!! I think the majority of people would be less pressed about it. It's so worthless in my every day life and only gets in the way. It makes me sad how many real artists get their art stolen and thrown into gen AI programs that regurgitate abysmal zombie copies of it. It's depressing and we SHOULD we be upset about it all

What is infuriating about some cheap junk being AI generated?
These clips would be unfunny slop regardless, nothing was lost by their design being AI generated.

that is even more infuriating because this dog shit ahh clips can't even use a good ai model like you just did lmao then you get into the argument of the ai stealing the other clips art, then their business cuz of it.

u/ThisGuy2319 7h ago
Best way to fight against AI is to use as much of it as possible why paying the least you can. The tokens used to generate information through cost someone money if not you, and buying through their resources will help outweigh the benefits they might see.
