How do you know that's not legit art? Like, seriously, are you assuming or is there some proof or evidence?

Ai has a very strong reputation for that type of font and paint stroke font as well

u/secondandmany 6h ago

Also, the racoons booty has a glimmer for some reason in addition to the text

6

u/GreatStateOfSadness 5h ago

Everything else aside, the current OpenAI tools seem to loooove those little action lines.

2

u/Rule_32 7h ago

Isn't it possible that a person made it that way for precisely that reason?

8

u/1lessthen2isnot1 7h ago

I wouldn’t think so, would you want your real work to resemble AI?

0

u/Traditional-Roof1984 5h ago

This reminds of the people who make spelling mistakes on purpose so their essay/article appears human... It doesn't really work.

We'll just have to admit we don't know.

u/Rule_32 7h ago

To be snarky about AI at the same time as declaring no AI, sure.

2

u/hidingfromthefamlol 7h ago

While this may actually be AI, sometimes I wonder about artists whose style was similar to this prior to the AI-overridden future. The models did learn from somewhere. Just sucks for those people

u/SCP_FUNDATION_69420 5h ago

I mean the thing is, I'm pretty sure not many artists used that artstyle, but when you have a program that's the amalgamation of millions of random pictures, if you don't give it any more direction than just a subject, then it will generate something that's the amalgamation of a milion different artstyles in one

in today's age, it is hard sometimes to know for sure if an image or creation is ai or not, i've seen school related books have art styles and font styles simular to this when i was a kid, but in todays age i think it is hard to know for 100% if things are ai or not ai,

As well.

you mean Comic Sans? Shit, that was already overused by humans long before AI. So while possible it DOES use it a lot because of that, its not slam dunk evidence.

9

u/Sad-Group2662 6h ago

That straight up isn’t comic sans

5

u/1lessthen2isnot1 6h ago

Ik dude just wants to argue

15

u/The_Fools_Lantern 7h ago

It honestly just looks like Word clipart from like 2016.

Which honestly was probably used to train AI so who knows lol

2

u/abucketofpuppies 4h ago

No offense, but it just looks like AI. The style is very distinct. The pixar eyes give it away, as well as the shading.

10

u/queer-queeries 4h ago

It’s clear it’s not legit art because why would the teacher spend time creating an elaborate drawing just to tell students not to use AI? That and it has all the AI tells other people have mentioned in this thread. The fact that it says “test, quiz, or knowledge check” also gives away that it’s not clipart because “knowledge checks” aren’t a super common thing.

4

u/Capnshredder 4h ago

could just be clipart or some shit like that

1

u/dancesquared 4h ago

It’s obvious to anyone with a pair of eyes and a functioning brain that it’s AI based on the text alone.

0

u/Omnamashivaaya 3h ago

I have only one eye and a brain disorder. Please continue

u/dancesquared 3h ago

The lettering is the tell-tale sign: not consistent enough to be a font, too consistent to be digitally hand-lettered.

0

u/Antares_B 3h ago

all the letters in this font are exactly the same

0

u/dancesquared 3h ago

No they aren’t. The two l’s in “allowed” are slightly different dimensions, for example. You might also be able to notice some inconsistencies in the e’s and a’s. (It’s obvious to me, but I’m not sure how detail-oriented you are when it comes to reading fonts/lettering).

when AI is really bad, most people can tell its AI, but as it improves the number of people sensitive enough to details and with the knowledge of the domain you are looking at (text, image, video, math, etc) because smaller and smaller until only the top experts in that field can actually tell the difference

0

u/zdrums24 2h ago

I disagree. This could easily be Clipart from something like teachers pay teachers or similar.

10

u/John--Darksoul 6h ago

AI has a very recognizable image style and uses some particular fonts over and over again

I feel like we've reached a point where there's an entire generation of people on the internet that aren't even aware of what humans were capable of with art and digital art specifically.

They've developed along side the AI boom and now just assume every single thing is AI, and maybe they're right.

At the same time, all the digital creators I've followed in the past seem to have either stopped uploading work, paywalled it to prevent it from being scraped (for free anyway), or just outright given up and now use generative AI in some part of their workflow.

5

u/Zebra-Ball 4h ago

Entire generation. Brother this AI shit is a few years old XD

0

u/Buddy-Junior2022 4h ago

yeah like 3 years old if we assume kids start using social media at 13 we got 13-16 year olds who’ve only experienced social media influenced by ai. shit happens faster than you think

u/Ivy0789 5h ago

Where I work one of the leaders was accused of using AI in his publications by students who used AI to determine if his work was AI. Then he used AI to write a public letter responding to the student's AI-backed accusation, which was also fed through AI to determine that it was AI.

I guess my point is: I think it's just AI all the way down now

3

u/MCWizardYT 2h ago

Because it's literally exactly the same style as generic ChatGPT posters that are popping up everywhere.

Seriously, they all look exactly like this with no variation

5

u/x_iii_x 7h ago

i cant tell if this comment is a joke or not lol

0

u/Minute-Swimming-3177 4h ago

This comment isn't helpful either. It's a good question because people can tell but can't really always articulate why

4

u/GregExalted 6h ago

it's the usual AI art style and font, plus i reverse searched the racoon and nothing comes up, and it should if it was a human created drawing

3

u/AltairLeoran 3h ago

The human brain is very good at recognizing patterns and my pattern recognizing brain is telling me it's AI lol

0

u/pilgermann 2h ago

I'm leaning toward not. Yeah, it's the type of thing people use AI for. But notice that the grid lines over the lights are actually even. AI art, even good AI art, almost universally introduces botched patterns, especially at that level of detail. No dead giveaways on the racoon either. Lights in the correct order.

2

u/Fun_Neck_7186 1h ago

when was the last time you looked at an AI image?

1

u/bigswagguy1106 2h ago

Look at the rest of the screen. Those "grid lines" are the moiré patterns you get when taking a picture of the screen, not part of the image. It also uses that classic marker font that AI loves to use on every flyer and graphic ever. Also a stoplight coming out of the ground where all of the lights are on? It's supposed to signify stop and read, but it doesn't even signal a stop. I feel confident it's AI.

1

u/Previous_Platform718 2h ago

but notice that the grid lines over the lights are actually even.

That's because the "grid" you're talking about isn't part of the image, it's physically part of the display that OP took a picture of...

It's the Moire Pattern created by the pixels in the phone's camera overlapping with the pixels in the display.

2

u/BrightLab7494 5h ago

Dude, just look at it. This is so blatantly AI

1

u/RacerDelux 5h ago

FWIW I have been accused of posting AI when my post included concept art made a decade ago.

1

u/GhoullDen 4h ago

come on man it’s pretty obvious just from looking at it

1

u/SnooCalculations3614 4h ago

Only AI can make an animated anything look so unappealing

1

u/Conscious-Start-4514 3h ago

I designed some jerseys for a rec league I play in and someone accused me of using AI. I spent a day designing them lol.

AI is getting to the point people can no longer trust what they see or hear

1

u/tinyj96 2h ago

You can tell because of the way it is

•

u/Ok_War9655 2m ago

the letter c is not consistent in the word "check." The second c is a little distorted and the bottom of the second c is below the bottom of k, which is not true for the first c. Honestly, this is the only objective clue I could find that it might be AI. The style, though, screams AI to me.

1

u/ThereInAFortnight 6h ago

Humans don't use that general style

0

u/FunnyReputation624 6h ago

Not a single human.

Ever.

1

u/SkubEnjoyer 6h ago

If you don't instantly clock this as AI, you are cooked.

1

u/oatwater2 5h ago

really?
