For the love of God, do not grab a microfiber cloth to begin with, they cause this.

Even just casual use at home to clean a kitchen counter can strip your skin like this if you have a tendency for dry skin.

If you use microfiber cloths often at home or at work, wear disposable or rubber gloves.

I use a microfiber cloth all time for cleaning my glasses. It drove me nuts at first, but they work so much better than anything else and eventually it stopped bugging me, lol.

I clean my glasses all day and never have skin like this or anything close. I only use lotion during winter when the air is dry and it has nothing to do with the cloth. That's my anecdotal experience, so maybe they to shred skin for some peeps.
