Unskippable ad I keep getting threatening texts

I get these ALL the time. I’ve never donated to these “people.” Never supported them. Never voted for them. Nor has my wife. I received four of these today. All threats. Always a telling me it’s my last chance. These are some of the less malicious-sounding ones.

I’m not even sure they’re legitimately from those parties, though I wouldn’t put it past them.

So… report as spam. Report as spam. Report as spam.

It isn’t like it’s painful. Just pretty irritating.

Yes I agree with you. I got one the other day that said “now is the time! Tell us what side you’re really on. Give us $10 to prove your alliance to democrats and keep us in this country” and then the same link style. I wasn’t answering the Republican ones so they switched to Democrat now I guess 😂

Under normal circumstances, I would call this a lazy and obvious false flag campaign.

Given what I've seen actual elected officials say on their verified social media or TV, I don't know what to think.

Exactly bro bahaha. Trump is bribing people with $5k to vote for him in the next election lmfao so who knows what ppl do

I hate that something that really should sound like it's not real, I Google it to find it out fucking is. How is that not literally a crime? But if the Dems did it…

I agree, but I think the reason it's not technically a crime is because the offer isn't only for people that vote Republican. Theoretically, if Republicans win the primaries then no matter who you voted for, you'll get the $5,000

But also, he'll never stick to that promise and I have no idea if that would even be a crime but I know he wouldn't be arrested for it. He probably wouldn't even have to pay a fine. This country is cooked

Nah, bribing people to vote for candidates is very illegal, regardless.

2

u/Morbid187 15d ago

I mean even if it is, who's going to enforce the law? And where is the law, anyway? I'm not defending it, I'm just saying the legal system clearly doesn't give a shit and/or have the ability to do something about it. At best, some court will be forced to prevent the payments from being dispersed if it gets that far and the government will blame the judges when people start getting angry.

Yeah, it depends on folks of conscience in positions capable of doing something about it to actually be willing to do something about it. We're f'ed.

I was trying to type a hopeful statement about how we haven't reached the point of no return yet but we're just on the precipice of it until I thought "return to what?" and it kinda fucked me up

And it'll magically disappear once he's reelected.

conservative men are submissive to other conservative men, so their base probably loves it

My girl Lisa Frank is on the right side of things. I always knew, even as a 9 year old girl in the 90’s, that if I stuck with Lisa Frank, I could never go wrong. And dammit, my 9 year old self was right on the money.

If you think these have anything to do with politics you need to get your head checked.

1

u/ruffianrevolution 19d ago

No, but it might put them off voting altogether.

1

u/StoppableHulk 19d ago

Theyre not trying to look good. Theyre trying to shame and scare and threaten people into voting for them, and it works way more often than it should.

nearly 80 million people do.

I get texts from the israeli propaganda network as well.

No other country is allowed to send us texts or have propaganda ads on youtube etc - but the israeli are.

u/banaslee 20d ago

Does it matter? It’s past that point. Now they can send these messages without repercussions or even media coverage. Many victims will feel alone and honestly afraid.

The gloves are off.

It's a scammer plain and simple. I only wish people had to take just 1 of the multiple cyber trainings I have to at work and we could avoid so much trouble.
