You don't want kids on their phones then, anyway, but it's not like they physically can't open the pouches.

I mean if a kid was going to the bathroom during class and happened to see a potential shooter in the hallway, it would be nice for them to be able to contact law enforcement if they couldn’t safely make their way to an office/teacher. Or if they’re not in a secured classroom for whatever when a lockdown is triggered, having access to their phone could be helpful to find a safe place/stay out of harms way - or be able to notify others since they’ll be unaccounted for. Granted this is coming from someone who has never used or seen these pouches before, I have no idea how hard or easy they are to open without the designated magnet thingy.

There are cops in the schools for that 'noticing someone has a gun' situation. Kids are taught to run, hide, put big things between them and the shooter, and most importantly - be quiet. Teachers are essentially taught to give their lives to protect the kids.

Most schools don't have cops what are you talking about?

Well, 53% do. The remainder should have other security. The point is, it shouldn't be up to the kid to call the authorities.
