Pro tip, if you’re in the U.S. and are still trying to acquire the collectors edition you may be able to use the SKU method at your local GameStop to pre order It. As of today I’ve still seen success in doing so.

All you do is go to your local GameStop, provide the clerk the SKU for either console
Xbox-SKU 453010
PlayStation-SKU 453008
(There is no PC version for U.S. unfortunately)

It will pop up in the system for a $300 item but once you put down the deposit (minimum $50) it will show up on your GameStop order history online as the Metro 2039 collectors edition. If you have any questions please feel free to ask em below. 🚇

So let's recap everything that went wrong with the CE pre order

1 : extremely limited amount of PC version, like EXTREMELY LIMITED, the version disappeared from basically every shelf but the Xbox and PS5 Version are still up in other sellers

2 : no PC version on the US making them go to other countries website to buy their stock taking the already limited stock the other countries had

3 : some countries don't have actual sellers on land like Canada who litteraly have to buy one from America (well except with the PC version they have to buy from Europe)

4 : pushing the blame on the sellers for either "cutting the sell short" or "having very limited stock"

5 : refusing to see the problem and try to make more even tho with the amount of money the preorder should have got them they should at least be able to make a second wave

Did I miss anything ?

6 : Germany had 5 sellers told for the PC version, however only Amazon actually had the version in stocks, the other 4 were just for show

7 : Some store front never had any stock to begin with but where still put as a potential seller in some countries, even appearing in the pre order email

8 : (from myself because i just remember it) got the "pre order is live" email 2 days after the pre order started (i did put myself on the News letter maybe a day before the start of it but still)

9 : US sell started 10 hours after the initial release making the US market even more of a mess and even more of a field day for scalpers

10 : Australia didn't have any normal seller like Amazon but some tech store had some stock for some reason

I've talked with Media Markt Germany and I feel like something went REALLY wrong there.

They do have the Metro 2039 Collector's Edition for PC in their system but they never listed it and will definitely not list it either as according to them they did NOT receive any stock from Deep Silver for it. They explained that they haven't and won't be able to sell the Collector's Edition AT ALL due to this. So apparently nothing got allocated to them which is why they never put a listing online.

According to Media Markt they even tried to reach out to get any information on how many CE's they could sell and got told they there are none left to be allocated.

I'll try to get some information from Amazon next. But by the looks of it, someone from the Sales Department at Deep Silver fumbled at the allocation of stock to the several retailer and only gave a select few some.

Went to GameStop and they said they had availability on it, was able to put the 50 dollars down and get my “spot” secured, according to them at least. Don’t know if this is location to location based. Hope this helps anyone 🙏🏼

So fuck us right? Stayed up till 2 am for the pre-orders just to find out none were given to Japan, let alone the entirety of Asia. This is just ridiculous. I see Oceana didn't get any either. Excluding half the planet for no apparent reason stings, bad. I was willing to drop any amount for it. I was planning on 2039 being the first collectors edition I ever bought.

Feels like they are just breeding contempt within the community with how pre-orders were handled.

On the first day of preorders, each website was sorted by country as well as by what platform it was selling. They have since removed what platforms they were selling on. Best method right now if you are in the US is the GameStop sku method, otherwise I don’t know. PC collectors edition is almost certainly never going to drop without meaningful pushback against deepsilver.

Went to my local gamestop and they said it still shows available in their system. When I told them about the blunder they were very surprised and shock they no one could order it online. Anyways here the confirmation.

Just logged into my account this morning and noticed that my orders for the PC CE were cancelled. Thanks Amazon and Deepsilver I love getting multiple confirmation emails that my order went through only for the item to be removed from my cart. Fantastic work. Truly.

We still have no idea if Canada even got any CE? I’ve called many EB games been looking at Amazon. I even got into a call with support and they say they have none and nothing is showing up in their system. So did Canada just get none if so that’s kinda crazy if that’s what happened I can’t even find a physical deluxe edition.
