Discussion VisionQuest: Ultron Is The Client? Spoiler

• Upvotes

I’m currently watching the first episode, and I strongly suspect that Ultron is either The Client himself or the one secretly manipulating him to orchestrate his escape from Vision’s brain. The revelation that Ultron is using digital pigeons to transmit information through the data leaks in Vision’s brain feels like a pretty significant clue, and it would make sense for him to exploit The Client as part of a larger plan to regain his freedom. Obviously, I could be wrong, but if either theory turns out to be true, I hope Marvel has a more compelling explanation in store than simply presenting an increasingly obvious twist as though nobody could see it coming.

So apparently marvel will be resetting every timeline and if this is true who do you think will make a good Tony stark as I can only imagine Robert Downey junior playing the role of iron man

Can’t believe Fiege fumbled this shit. He would’ve been amazing as Blade. Probably the top 3 ‘what ifs’ in marvel history now.

If you’ve seen this movie already, what do you think? I was lucky to catch it at a film festival and I’m going to see it again in theaters because it was fucking awesome.

Discussion So what should we expect from Secret Wars?

• Upvotes

Like is it supposed to be Spider-Man leading a resistance in a world ruled by Doom? I still don’t even quite understand battleworld. I never read the comics. People are also expecting Andrew and Tobey to return once more.

I know we haven't seen Doomsday and Secret Wars yet, but I'm just wondering generally what people would like to see from these characters. More solo films? appearances in other people's films? showing up in the TV shows?

Discussion So the failed Celestial Emergence created the Xmen right?

• Upvotes

Is this the best theory?

Seems logical - Celestials are deeply linked to the life on their host world, a Celestial dying in a planet could trigger changes to that life.

Tiamut containing Adamantium points to this theory.

It is an interesting change to have Adamantium as naturally occuring (vs synthetic as in the comics). If the energy from Tiamut's death and corpse is altering the DNA of a portion of the population, then Adamantium features could occur naturally in that population. And obviously adamantium is most closely associated with the Mutants.

The only real issue with the theory is Namor who was born a mutant before the Emergence. Although Tiamut could have just accelerated human evolution, which was occuring already at a slower rate.

It is a nice neat explanation for why so many mutants have suddenly appeared. And a decent basis for some interesting conflict - a huge explosion in the Mutant population would freak humans tf out. Governments would get involved. Inhibitor collars would be made and superhuman registration acts would be passed...

...Avengers VS Xmen, into Days of Future Past, maybe?

Obviously, season two is gonna deal with the symbiote arc. I just hope they do what happened in the comics with Peter actually Going to sleep, and the symbiote taking over while he's sleeping.

Interview Brad Winderbaum on Young Avengers: "There's a lot of stuff we're trying to make. But for a million reasons, not everything makes it to the screen. You keep trying to push the things you love forward. Sometimes you know you're sitting on something great and it takes a long time, and it hurts."

Question Question regarding EDITH in VisionQuest Spoiler

First time posting here so not sure if my post fits within the rules but ANYWAYS,, as we all know, back in Spiderman: Far From Home, EDITH was shown to be an AI that has access to Stark's satellite system and is able to launch drones and weapons from there. But later due to the events of FFH no one can use EDITH anymore and the government took the glasses away. Tho years later, as shown in VisionQuest, she now appears to be living inside Vision's mind instead. So this begs the questions: Do you think wether EDITH still has access to Tony Stark's satellite system and is she still able to use it that could potentially help Vision in the future or not? If so then is Vision capable of accessing the satellites on his own since EDITH is essentially part of him?

Spoiler tagged just in case, open to any answers!

Discussion Would the Netflix Marvel shows have been better off as a separate universe?

I think so. Shows like Daredevil had a distinct identity: grounded fight choreography, street-level criminals who could genuinely challenge Matt, a psychologically complex Punisher portrayed as a traumatized soldier, and the Hand as a mysterious organization rather than a world-ending threat. The dark tone and moral ambiguity were essential to what made these shows work.

My biggest issue is the worldbuilding. How can people still be primarily concerned with Wilson Fisk and his criminal empire just three years after the Chitauri invasion of New York in The Avengers? An event of that magnitude should fundamentally change society, law enforcement, and people's perception of crime and security.

I don't think street-level stories and superhero blockbusters are inherently incompatible, but the MCU often feels like it operates on a completely different set of rules.

Wouldn't the Netflix shows have benefited from remaining a separate continuity, allowing them to preserve their grounded tone, realistic fights, and psychological depth without having to fit into the MCU's increasingly exaggerated world?

Theory What if…

What if Deadpool joins dr. Doom’s side of the war? No, wait, hear me out… maybe he’s on Doom’s side because Doom promises to kill him. Then he meets Spider-Man; they fight, then they become friends. Make it happen marvel i needa see it

Ideally it would be similar to Why So Serious and Mark of the Spider-Man, where users play games to find clues about Mutants around the world and unlock secrets about the movie. Maybe you could either be using Cerebro, or it could be something involving Senator Kelly and Bollivar Trask! And by the way the 2 previous campaigns I mentioned were made by 42 Entertainment.

Question Is VisionQuest approachable without having seen Marvel?

I like James Spader, but haven’t watched anything Marvel since the first Avengers team-up movie. What Marvel lore do I need to wrap my head around before watching VisionQuest as a stand-alone show?

The word “reboot” in the show description makes me optimistic, but worried I’d be wasting my time.

Other My doomsday opener.

Now obviously what my opening will be will not happen but here’s what I would love.
It opens on the final battle of the avengers vs thanos and his army. And just as Tony is about to grab the stones from thanos he gets shoved out of the way and dr doom steals them from thanos himself with thanos being surprised. As Tony and thanos look on dr doom uses the space stone to disappear and they both track him to a remote location called latveria (different from the one he’s from) and they see an advanced version of a Time Machine that Tony created and they both try and take the stones but dr doom rips thanos spine out of his body and uses the space and power stone to rip Tony’s suit apart and leaves him alive. And as he steps onto the machine he removes his mask and Tony sees his face on dr doom. Roll opening avengers title.

How did dr doom get to this universe? Well like Tony he’s a genius and he has access to magic and science. So he could easily build a machine to teleport him to the 616 universe and build a Time Machine to go back to the final battle and then return to the present time.

It's one of the few major impacts left from the Blip the fact that all new MCU projects are set a few years in the future at the time of release, which to be honest I'm just kinda sick of the MCU being set in the future.

Discussion (More in Comments) Who Do You THINK Is Gonna Die in Doomsday, and Who Do You WANT to Die?

Starting with

Yelena: After everything she went through in Thunderbolts* and finally starting to move forward, I wonder if Marvel might kill her off for maximum emotional impact. Or would that just waste her potential?

Steve Rogers & Sam Wilson: With Steve returning, I honestly think Sam might be in trouble. I've never really connected with Sam as Captain America, and I feel his character has struggled to establish himself in the role. With Steve back, I wonder how their dynamic will work and whether Sam will even survive the movie (I don't want him to survive btw) Marvel has a chance to throw away all the blunders and bad characters they established post-endgame. (She hulk, Ironheart, Leader bla bla blah)

I think Loki might die too. As Doom has to kill loki to fu*k multiverse.

These are just my thoughts. Who else do you think will die? Which characters do you WANT Marvel to kill off? And do you think any of my predictions could actually happen? Let's hear your theories! 👇

Discussion Favourite superhero film?

Probably Blade or X2 or DOFP. Can't decide on which one. Blade is dope it's a classic, one of a kind. Wesley caught lightning in a bottle with that one. Xmen 2 is the best Xmen film. It's got everything and that opening sequence with Nightcrawler is literal ecstasy. DOFP doesn't get enough love. They took the biggest storyline from the Xmen lore and turned it into a two hour emotional rollercoaster. So much depth, so much dread, high stakes, it's literally epic. The payoff is sound. It's the equivalent of Infinity war & Endgame in one film. The scale is immense.

Discussion What is wrong with me

I just don’t like Sam Wilson as Cap,but I don’t why.

I feel guilty because I’m black myself but I genuinely couldn’t care less about his character,I think he’s bland and doesn’t really have a interesting personality.

Maybe it’s the man out of time concept that interested me about Steve.

But for some reason I loved the Luke Cage show,Loved black panther,Miles morales is in my top 3 heroes.

But with Sam Wilson I just feel nothing,I don’t even hate him I just do not care for him in the slightest and will never care for him,so for that I feel guilty

Discussion VisionQuest eps 1-2 review (spoiler) - the writer doesn't understand how tech works Spoiler

The production detail is amazing , a lot of tech tiny details, the way they made the world become simulated, the way ultron sending data through port is good, the way they potray processing speed by pausing time is also good.

But man past that they don't understand how tech works, the way jarvis deleted himself to gave vision processing power is bullshit. You don't delete code to increase processing power you just kept them in ROM and don't access them, the normies terms is just made jarvis offline. Yes there is possibility using Vram from rom to help with rendering, but you know what else help ? JUST DON'T RUN OTHER AI MODELS UNTIL YOU CAN FIX OR UPGRADE YOURSELF. The whole conversation of paladin and his assistance also cheesy hollywood "hacking" asque.

You're making a series about android, at least hire a tech guy to help you in the writing room.

Vision also REALLY inconcistence, he is fine with killing people but let paladin alive in their first meeting, at that point there is no reason to let paladin live. The whole 2 episodes implying that vision still learning how to be human and how to have feelings, yet he is emmotionals and irrasional and did a lot of things that not calculated.

The writing is all over the place, it's cheesy, the writer style feels like they are never heard what a real human talk.

Discussion We need a Steve Rodgers and Thor movie

Just saw an edit on tiktok and This duo needs their own movie. It’s been teased throughout the MCU and now that Chris Evans is coming back, it’s the perfect opportunity. Give us a serious movie with Steve and Thor teaming up and throw in Sam Wilson, Bucky, or even Peter Quill. Have the Russo brothers direct it and this could genuinely be one of the best MCU movies.
It would feed families man

Theory Thanos was right because his plan did save the Earth from a similar fate his own planet suffered.

Way, way, WAAAAYYYY too many posts on other subreddits recently that include Thanos (usually in the "villain had a stupid plan" type lists) and comments on how he should have doubled resources with the clap back being he only cared about being right. The posts and comments seem to all miss the obvious that's spelled out by the scripts of the movies.

Infinity War hinted at why Thanos's plan would be effective by pointing out his planet was off axis and suffering severe magnetic and gravitational disturbances. The Eternals just screamed it out loud that large populations feed celestials in the planet and when the population gets large enough, the celestial emerges which kills the planet's population. Cutting the population of planets in half stops celestials being born and the people on the planet can go on living indefinitely. Doubling resources would just speed up the Celestial process.

It's even a major plot point in The Eternals that because the snap was undone, the Earth will soon be destroyed by the celestial inside it in weeks if not days. Thanos's plan kept the Earth alive for five years while the Avengers unknowingly doomed it for destruction. Also justifies Dr. Strange's one in fifteen million chance to win in they can't just defeat Thanos or undo the snap, but they need to do it in a way that prevents the celestial from destroying the planet soon afterwards.

Big things: Thanos is mad/insane (likely being a child of Eternals) so he can only imagine the reason his planet died was because of starvation and resource depletion when it's obvious that was not the cause. His mad plan solves the problem (celestials stay in planet), but sounds insane because it doesn't solve the problem he claims it's for (starvation, resources). I'll add that the writers could have improved this by adding a line by Thanos in Endgame that part of destroying the stones was putting the culling on autopilot, so any planet that doubles its sentient population since the last cull gets culled again in a self-correcting cycle.

Also, Thanos's plan is bad because no new stars get created by new celestials. Short term win and long term loss. Plus he is insane and thinks his plans worked with no problems even though Gamora was the last of her planet's people.
