That's why Germany was able to walk right over northern Europe.  Twice.

u/TheScareFace 12h ago

Excuse me, but Germany only took Denmark and Norway in ww2. Most of Northen Europe was not occupied during both wars.

13

u/Catsanddoges 11h ago

No they took Canada, are you stupid?

25

u/Gochus_Real 11h ago

And Poland, and Austria, and Czechoslovakia, and France, and a large part of Russia...

24

u/TheScareFace 11h ago

That's not Northern Europe like the guy above me said though haha.

12

u/CredarAnderzon 9h ago

as we all know northern europe is all of europe north of malta so you are wrong

u/Zandonus 1h ago

Taking Sweden by side of Norway is Hannibal level (lose 50% of your war elephants), but also fight like in Afghanistan towards the mountains. And taking Sweden by sea is... also a great way to lose many ships. And well, the result is not a lot of taxable population and a whole lot of forest occupied. Denmark had Ships to grab, and they had a meh military, and it's flat, and enough agriculture to be worth conquering.

75

u/faatbuddha 11h ago

You've never heard of the 50 Corners monument where all 50 states meet?

30

u/kart0ffelsalaat 11h ago

US if they were based

25

u/faatbuddha 11h ago

Alaska and Hawaii 😂

5

u/VIDCAs17 9h ago

Love the idea that the Mackinac Bridge belongs to a dozen states simultaneously.

1

u/dasgoodshitinnit 3h ago

The fuvk? You had this saved for this exact scenario?

4 CORNER STATE SUPREMACY

Also Europeans don't even know about Navaho Tacos.

In 12 minutes you can walk from Virginia to Washington, DC, to Maryland, then back to Virginia.

120

u/shartmaister 12h ago

You can’t walk in the US.

24

u/highly_agreeable 11h ago

Nor should you, gas powered motorized shopping carts are the future

2

u/TheWidrolo 10h ago

Running on 20 gallons/mile.

16

u/Advice_Thingy 12h ago

But you can't walk through 3 countries.

10

u/VoxInferni666 11h ago

Most Americans can't name 3 countries

24

u/highly_agreeable 11h ago

Africa, England and Europe

2

u/breadandolive 6h ago

england is not a country, it's a language

-1

u/VoxInferni666 11h ago

Hahaha yeah that's pretty much what I expected.

3

u/macjr82 Map Porn Renegade 11h ago

Canada, Mexico, and England. 😎

1

u/peardude89 6h ago

United States and America, the only 3 countries you need!!!

2

u/greengye 11h ago

Give it a few years for the US to balkanize

1

u/I_travel_ze_world 1h ago

Europe has such tiny countries that they're compared to states in the new world

if California was a European country it would be the 2nd richest ur-a-peon country

Old world countries are so puny lol

13

u/Solivy 11h ago

What are you all talking about? You can cross America within a 13min timespan! Okay, by car, but still.

11

u/TalveLumi 10h ago

Do you really need 14 minutes for that?

34

u/bubblemilkteajuice 11h ago

In American you can't walk because fat. In Europe you can't walk because no license. In North Korea you can walk because fearless leader Kim Il Sung blessed comrade with feet.

18

u/Bafy78 12h ago

Except that in the US you get run over as there are no sidewalks :'(

5

u/Saint_of_Grey 8h ago

That's what the guns are for. Shoot a new sidewalk into the ground.

4

u/DoloresburyHoof 10h ago

The sidewalk just abruptly ends directly into a drainage ditch after 50 feet anyway.

I'm proud to say that I once visited the BE/NL/DE three country point. There I hopped from Belgium over the Netherlands into Germany. Countries in Europe are so tiny that you can literally just jump over them.

3

u/VIDCAs17 9h ago

Denmark doesn’t border Belgium or The Netherlands, so this is clearly a fake image.

1

u/kennytherenny 9h ago

There's no land border, but they border across the North Sea.

1

u/UtahBrian 8h ago

Thank you for correcting this obvious charlatan.

1

u/saythealphabet 11h ago

The benches are adorable

17

u/InsectSudden6032 11h ago

that 14 minute walk in the USA includes 7 minutes waiting at a crosswalk

9

u/ReadyTadpole1 11h ago

Actually there is no crosswalk, you have to stand there for seven minutes working up the nerve to scurry across in a barely-long-enough gap in traffic, and hope no one throws anything at you from his car in the meantime.

6

u/WelshBathBoy 12h ago

You can't walk for 14min in the USA because that's white supremacy!

for those who don't get the reference

5

u/V1_The_Machine_ 11h ago

Translation: USA: Drove for 4 hours — changed the state.
UK: Drove for 4 hours — changed the dialect.
Russia: Drove for 4 hours — you’re still in Moscow.

14

u/Overencucumbered 12h ago

This is a trick post. Americans can't walk

That’s why we invested in public transportation obviously

5

u/thomsenite256 11h ago

What is this walking you speak of?

4

u/Remarkable-Carrot112 11h ago

Wow. That's neat.

How come Europeans can walk so fast?

3

u/Any_Change146 11h ago

Imagine concept of borders xd

2

u/iduckhard 12h ago

Wow i never thought about it like that. Great insight, thank you for sharing!

2

u/Verified_Peryak 12h ago

There is a great kebab in germany arround there 😊

2

u/buythedip0000 12h ago

Why walk when you can have yanktank to take you there

2

u/cabanesnacho 9h ago

Proud of you for choosing Schengen, the place where it was agreed that borders would no longer divide us Europeans, and that we could do our stupid cross-border walks to own the Americans unimpeded by border checks 🫡🇪🇺

2

u/Nolzi 7h ago

If you walk 14 minutes in the US then the police will shoot you

2

u/warfaceisthebest 7h ago

Not a single soul in America would walk 14 min. Unless they are from NYC which is an evil city for being actually somewhat walkable.

1

u/GeronimoDK 11h ago

You could visit 4 countries within an hour on bicycle too (if you have a good bicycle and is in relatively good condition)

1

u/Scorpian42 11h ago

Map of my city jumpscare

1

u/G0_WEB_G0 11h ago

I'm in Munich now and this feels very accurate. I feel like I'm 10 ft tall walking to every thing in this city

1

u/weightliftcrusader 11h ago

Pretty sure 14 mins is still the same block in Salt Lake City

1

u/SpareRelation9363 11h ago

I am humgarian and i can visit 3 countries in 10 second

1

u/Dry-Egg8573 8h ago

You can walk to Brazil from France. Can you do that from the US?

•

u/ApexPredatorTV 56m ago

why would you want to go to france tho?

•

u/profanedivinity 29m ago

Please check the sub name

6

u/MaybeNext-Monday 11h ago

Getting ragebaited by this sub is like losing chess to a dog who isn’t playing

1

u/xX100dudeXx 9h ago

I will admit I didn't

2

u/fast-as-a-shark 11h ago

No, this applies literally anywhere in Europe dude it's so tiny. America is the only real country.
