Should go by train in Germany. 8 hrs and you are somewhere. Could even still be where you started or chilling at completely random stations.

People from other countries have adventure stories from when they went into the wilderness.

Germans have adventure stories from when they took the train once.

Im not from Germany but I’ve lived there for 3 months and got 2 train stories. One ended with me in a homeless asylum and the second with me on the couch of some random family who rented an AIRBNB in Slovenia. (German trains are also used in Austria, Slovenia and Croatia for some reason) moral of the story. German trains are very unreliable.
