Hello, shader packs on Mac use OpenGL, which isn't supported by Macs chips, so on my MacBook Pro (M4, 10-core GPU, 16 GB) Iris + Complementary runs at about 22 FPS at the native 3024×1964. I made a free mod with shaders written in Metal instead.

- Balanced, 1440p: 137–156 FPS

- Balanced, native: 108-124 FPS

- Ultra, native: 64–80 FPS

The newest version (1.2.2) adds Distant Horizons presets and reflective far water, on top of an in-game settings menu with about 120 options. No Sodium needed. Apple Silicon only (M1 or newer, macOS 15 or later), Minecraft 26.3 with Fabric.

Just grabbed this one from Micro Center, price is about $700 cheaper than education price and $1,100 cheaper than the full price from Apple Store.

It was at $4,199 but by the time I pulled the plug it already went up by $100 - but still a pretty good price IMO. After I picked mine up, price went up by another $200.

on apple's own refurb webiste i found a M5 PRO MBP for $2550, after employee discount it comes down to $2150, it has 24gb ram and 1tb stoagre,16in with 18 core cpu and 20 core gpu........its just in my budget(almost exactly), is it a good deal?

After years of relying on the familiar Windows ecosystem, I finally made the leap and switched to the Mac. Leaving behind the muscle memory of Windows laptops was a massive shift, but upgrading to the sheer power of Macbook completely redefines my daily workflow.

M6 is already here and we are heading a lot of rumours lately about touch screen and redesign but what all is true no-one clearly knows.

Since the Mac mini had price hikes, what price can we expect for a MacBook Pro M6 base variant?

Any config guesses?

Will the base variant now get 24GB RAM?

I’m looking to purchase my first MacBook and plan to keep it for approximately 6–8 years at least. I’m deciding between the base M5 with 24GB RAM/1TB SSD ($2199 MSRP) and the M5 Pro with 24GB RAM/2TB SSD (currently $2,399, down from $2,999 MSRP).
My primary use will be professional productivity, including real estate work, spreadsheets, CRM software, website management, research, multitasking, and general everyday computing.
However, I also have some interests I’d like to explore in the future. These include occasional video editing snowboarding and travel footage, potentially longer 4K/360° video projects, learning CAD and 3D printing.
Realistically, 90% of my usage will probably be everyday productivity, but I want a machine that can comfortably handle more demanding projects as my interests develop as I’ll have it a long time.
I’m leaning toward the M5 Pro because of the current $600 discount, additional performance, and doubled storage. However, I’m questioning whether I’d actually benefit from that extra power enough to justify spending another $400–$450. Another point is the planned announcement of the M6 line on the 27th of this month
For those with real-world experience using base and Pro chips, would you spend the extra money for longevity and flexibility, or is the base M5 more than enough for my needs? Also, would you wait for the M5 to go on sale or buy the M5 Pro now?

I recently got an Apple refurb 32GB M5 MBP and am wondering how it will hold long term vs M4 Pro and M5 Pro. Basically wondering if I'm missing out being on base chip.

So I got my 1first macbook which is a used one macbook pro m1 chip 2020 13in, 16gb ram 256gb storage I have got external ssg so no problem with that I got it for 43k inr I.e $475 the battery health is 85% at 685 charge cycles.

I basically bought it for editing videos like I am just starting to learn till what level editing I can do on it and how many years can I use it without problem I'll use it mainly witha charger plugged in and my charge pattern will be 20% to 80% and after 80% I use limit and after some time I let it charge to 100 then plug off the charger and use it for a while then shut it down. The gap is of 12-18 hours between each use sometime less too.

J’ai dû changer mon mot de passe lors de la dernière mise à jour mais je ne m’en souviens pas. La seule option de récupération que j’ai apparement c’est la clé de secours mais elle n’apparaît pas dans le trousseau sur mon iPhone. Je suis complètement bloqué et j’ai 17 ans de photos dessus. Je suis au fond du trou.
Si jamais quelqu’un a une solution au moins pour récupérer mes photos.
Le Mac est bien dans mes appareils sur mon iPhone pourtant.

I am really confused about which one should I buy.

I came across MacBook pro M4 pro chip (24gb) 12-core CPU & 16-core GPU -512gb storage.
And MacBook pro M5 base version(16gb) 512 gb, (both of them 14 inch)

I am low on budget and found this two almost same price, watched lot of YT videos and reviews but still confused!

looking for some good advise on this. Mostly use it for Programming, studying, docker, few ML and some web browsing(netflix, YT, etc)

My first ever laptop died its final death last year and I tried to revive it with a new battery and charge port unfortunately with no victory. A board is pretty expensive as it’s a 2.9ghz i7 one. If I buy another Mac like a 2.5ghz i5 one the same year, will I be able to just slot my ssd in and boot it up as my old computer?

My space bar is not working properly on the left side. I bought a self repair kit and I hope replacing the connectors and the key cap will solve this. I just wanted to know if anyone had problems with the keyboard as well. I own this machine for 2 years or maybe a little bit longer, and I believe I take good care of it.

Mainly for software engineering (web and mobile dev) and school work (docker containers).

Any fellow m3 pro would recommend this? Is this a good deal?
