Rimfire 10/22 as a trainer
I know that it is ideal if it is 22lr bolt rifle, but can we use 10/22 for long range practice? I have a 10/22 takedown and currently it has just a reddot but if I put a power optic shouldn't I be able to use it for long range practice up to 200m?

You can 100% do that. I'd recommend putting some into finding quality ammo. Wind will be a significant consideration.

you might find this informative. Thomas is a legend in the north due in no small part to his use of hunting rifles to make shots many of us struggle to achieve with much heavier gats. It’s all in tbe rigours application of the basics.

A 10/22 takedown's not going to have the best accuracy innately because of the takedown mechanism, regardless of optics or ammo, so it'll probably be more detrimental to you training your fundamentals as you won't know whether you're inaccurate due to technique or rifle. I've been in the exact same spot and after trying to brute force it for a while I just gave up and got a Bergara instead.

I have the 10/22 takedown and t1x ace, both in 22lr. I've tried red dot and variable zoom optics (I think 8-25x) mounted to the receiver, but I just use iron sights (the built in fibre optic ones) mounted to the barrel.
Shooting both from a bench with sandbags and max zoom, I was getting groups at 25yds on my 10/22 that were worse than the t1x at 200yds.
My recommendation is 100% get both. The ruger comes out more often because it's so packable and fun to shoot. You can learn all sorts of stances and movements without getting fatigue from a heavy gun, recoil, or pre-bulket price tag. The various optics I installed only made me a worse shooter, having poor weight distribution and more compounding factors (more things to think about, smaller sight picture, longer acquisition) just led to lack of focus and good habit development. Also, 22lr ballistics at 200yd are very close to 308 at 1000yd scale
Once I got the tikka, especially in the heavy chassis with a light trigger, my range sessions had much more purpose and noticeable results. I will be the weakest link in that set up for a long time, but the ruger, (especially the takedown) setup has a lot of things working against you for the purposes of precision shooting like: The barrel is looser against the action Receiver mounted optics are not zeroed to the barrel Semi auto is less accurate than bolt The barrel is not made precision shooting (not that big a deal) The trigger is heavy and 2 stage The chassis is very light

All practice is beneficial, but ideally you would want a 22 trainer that would match as closely as possible your long range centerfire rig. For instance, I have a MPA vanquish in 6.5CM as my long range rifle. I’ve been considering getting another Vanquish chassis for my Bergara B14r so that they would feel as close as possible between the two.

I wouldn't buy a takedown for LR practice, but I wouldn't shy away from using one I already have for it either. If you don't have the cash for another rifle, go for it.

The long range community as a majority would strongly disagree with almost everything g you just said…

They're right about the recoil. It can 100% lead to bad, sloppy habits behind the rifle that will bite a shooter going back to centerfire. Watched it happen more than once.

Definitely happened to me. It’s easy to get sloppy on recoil control when it doesn’t matter, and having a home range for .22 means I put out way more rounds of .22 per year than anything else.

you will usually be limited to low end triggers
Bullshit.
So in short, you wouldn't be exposed to a lot of the things needed to get good at shooting long distances
Bullshit.
not developing necessary skills for centerfire.
Bullshit.

I wouldn't use a takedown for it due to the barrel mounting system.
