**Switched from OVO Energy to Fuse after 3 years – saving £700 a year! My experience so far.**

• Upvotes

Switching energy providers probably isn't the most exciting topic on Reddit, but saving money and keeping more of it for yourself and your family in today's economy certainly is!

I've been with OVO Energy for the past three years and, to be fair, I've never really had any major issues with them. The service has generally been good, and I had no particular reason to leave.

However, every time my fixed tariff came to an end, the price seemed to creep up.

OVO also offers various rewards and incentives, such as the opportunity to earn free solar panels, heat pumps and EV charging miles. Whilst these might be attractive to some customers, they're not particularly useful to me at the moment. I'd much rather have a cheaper energy bill than rewards I may never use.

When my latest fixed deal was coming to an end, the new price I was offered worked out at approximately £700 more per year.

That was enough to make me start shopping around!

After comparing different providers and doing some research into customer reviews, I came across Fuse Energy.

Not only was Fuse the most competitively priced option I found for my circumstances, but the estimated cost was actually lower than the tariff I'd fixed with OVO a year earlier.

Naturally, I was a little sceptical about switching to a provider I wasn't particularly familiar with, so I spent some time looking into customer experiences and reviews. The feedback seemed largely positive, which gave me enough confidence to give them a try.

How has the switch gone?

Surprisingly smoothly!

Fuse handled the switching process.

I simply provided my final meter reading.

No unnecessary hassle or complicated paperwork.

The app is straightforward, user-friendly and provides the information I need.

So far, no complaints whatsoever.

It's still early days, so I can't comment on their long-term customer service, but my experience so far has been positive.

There's also a £100 referral offer running until 17 October.

If anyone is considering switching, Fuse currently has a referral promotion where both the new customer and the person referring receive £100, subject to the offer's terms and eligibility.

For transparency, here's my referral code:

GGFTII70572

Website: https://www.fuseenergy.com/app

I'm sharing this because I genuinely found a cheaper deal and had a positive switching experience so far. Obviously, everyone's energy usage and circumstances are different, so I'd always recommend comparing tariffs rather than assuming one supplier will be cheapest for everyone.

My takeaway?

Loyalty doesn't necessarily pay when it comes to energy providers.

If you've been with the same supplier for years, it's worth spending 15–20 minutes comparing what's available. Even if you're happy with your current provider, you might be surprised by the savings.

Energy bills aren't exactly exciting, but having a few hundred pounds more in your pocket each year certainly makes a difference!

Has anyone else switched from OVO to Fuse recently? How has your experience been, particularly with customer service and billing?

Hey everybody,

I am looking to take around 10 sessions of full body laser treatment + intimate area pubis.

Where should i go with a good deal and skilled technician?

My skin tone is slightly pale, any device works on my skin or should i look into a specific device to get the best results.

And lastly, is 10 sessions enough? As i want to get tatoo, i can't do laser on it so i want to see if 10 sessiins gonna last me like decades or not

Thank you for yor insight!

Next week on the 21st October, we bring internationally acclaimed composer and virtuoso cellist Jo Quail to Leicester.

For those that aren’t aware, Jo draws on many influences such as contemporary classical, metal, avant-garde, and experimental music to create very immersive and powerful compositions

We also have support from Harmonium based dark folk project Greet, who will be making their Leicester debut!

We had Jo in Leicester last year and for those that came down will know what an incredible performance it was, over half the tickets are gone for what will be a very incredible evening.

Any part time jobs around?

Hi everybody, currently looking for some sort of part time job. Honestly speaking don’t have any experience so this would be my first job but I am willing to learn the skills and do what I have to. If anyone knows places hiring for part time availability or anything of that sort drop down a reply.
I’m 18 currently full time in college, so part time will be ideal for me.

Not red Leicester! (Spain)

I live in Mallorca (Originally from Leicester)

This was in the supermarket here in Spain.

I can see what they were going for.

I mean, if they had spelt it "Lesta" they may have got away with it!

(Translation on the pack by the way is orange cheese)

Interestingly, it has a union jack on it and the back says made in Barcelona!

Abbey lane red light cameras

Hi everyone. I passed my test on 07/10 and last night I was driving abbey lane. I was on the side going into town and the lights turned amber going past the stop line and red as I went through the lights, I was doing 30 but there were cars behind me and I didn’t think I could stop safely. I didn’t get flashed but I am worried that there is a red light camera on that side. And then like 4 hours later I was coming back up st Margaret’s way and I went through the lights on amber. Am I going to get tickets for it?

For someone driving daily out of Oadby to Birmingham or Derby, is there any way out of the hell that is the Fosse Park gridlock?

Genuinely losing my mind here and need to know if I'm missing some secret local knowledge or if we're all just trapped in a shared psychological torture experiment.

I commute daily from Oadby heading out towards the M1/M69 towards Birmingham, or up towards Derby/Chesterfield, and trying to get past the Fosse Park / Soar Valley Way / Meridian stretch at 7:00 AM or 5:00 PM feels like an absolute trap.

A route that should take 50 minutes routinely gets bloated to 1 hour 30 on a decent day, and a soul-crushing 2 hours when things go sideways. I've tried delaying leaving work, thinking I could wait it out, but even if I roll out at 7:00 PM, it's still bumper-to-bumper blockages right around there.

I’ve only lived in Leicester for about 7 years now, so I have to ask the long-timers: Has it always been this relentlessly awful? How far back in the past does this gridlock go? And more importantly, is there actually any infrastructure plan on the horizon to fix it, or are we just destined to watch our fuel gauges/ will to live empty while staring at the back of a lorry forever?

If anyone has alternate rat-runs or clever workarounds bypassing the south-west side from Oadby without adding 30 miles to the trip, I am all ears. I can't move as I live with my partner and can't afford my own place.

Where can I park all day?

Hi, I am moving to a new flat and have been told that their car park has a waiting list so advised to park at Highcross which is £5 all day. However having looked at the website it isn't actually £5 for 24hrs, it's only for 12hrs and I'd have to either move the car or pay £10 for 24hrs...I also can't come in and out as I please as the charges reset. This is really expensive so trying to figure out if there are alternatives. Please can someone advise?

Sports studios

Hello again, first of all Im extremely grateful to all the many helpful answers to my last question about public transport. Wonderful people on here. My next questions is about sports studios with week passes or daily fees.

Im a visitor from Germany and will stay in Leicester for around 5 days, I workout a lot and should definitely continue my routine. Are there any sports studios that offer some kind of week pass, pre paid ticket or a daily charge system? I definitely cant afford to get an entire month membership for just these few days and will probably forget to cancel afterwards. If the studio is on the outskirts thats also fine.

I already looked online but once again the informations were more than scarce

Parking in city centre

Hi, I live in the city centre near the clock tower and have just bought my first car. I was wondering if anyone knows of any nearby streets where you can park for free overnight, how much monthly parking costs at nearby car parks (as it’s a nightmare getting in contact with parking companies), or if anyone is renting out a residential parking space.

I’m willing to walk up to 15 minutes to get to my car, as I know parking is limited in town. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you! 😊
