Screenshot Highest amount of Gold i collected so far (Original Game)
Just as suggested in the comments, I sold all my items to the alchemist merchant in Gorhart and reached this amount of gold. it‘s crazy to think I started playing in 2012 and still making new achievements for myself in the game.

max amount of gold is 100 million

You can't. Once you hit 100 million then it'll just start giving you zero gold.

The only true way to do it is to find gold and silver deposits and keep them stored.
Anything over an actual 100 million gold it still gives you the sound of you getting gold and gold drops but on your screen its just going to say +0 🪙
Trust me I've played this game since 2012 . I have save edited this game I have played the game at max level from the very beginning of the game. I have maxed out all of my skills all of my abilities using cheat engine. I've maxed out the gold. The only thing now that I'm still doing is just collecting uniques and sets.
Ps.
If you're playing on PC save editing your weapons to max level is literally the best thing to do.

My character was undefeated even before I started using cheat engine & save editor.
I literally got life drinker as a chest drop right before going to defeat Tirnoch
Then I found out I could use cheat engine.
And I started finding unique loot that I'd never seen before

But then to balance out the undefeated part they remastered the game and added a very hard mode which I had been asking for.
+More DLC.
I was astounded.
It felt like I was being rewarded for my military service.

I have all the items and set and unique. Also more than 100 golden chalices and 35 bracelets and something like 25 golden nuggets and 15 silver nuggets. I don’t use cheats tho, I have looted and farmed everything and got all maxed out already. If there is a way, I’ll find it!

I spent a lot of time struggling through my teen years with abusive parents. I repeatedly lost everything I had including a place to live.
I'm going to use cheat engine and enjoy what I should have be able to enjoy peacefully as a teen.

And then I'm going to save edit my weapons so that at endgame the level 7 sword that I found that does absolutely no damage to any of the enemies will now scale to my level and do an equal amount of damage as its peers.

I have another game save where I started all over again just to obtain Dren’s Invulnerability (that is considered cheating, even with no cheat engine or editors, but I wanted to keep the Aura)

Money earned is hard to keep if you're trying to max everything out
