Question What is the point of the remaster?
I feel like there are so many stuff they could have fixed with this remaster in terms of NPC AI, loot that cannot be removed like lerkaras journal etc and other bugs that were in the first game, its still super outdated according to me. I used to love it when it was a product of the old times and i could forgive it , but replaying with the remaster make me kinda hate the game now seeing that things were not really improved to meet today's standards.
And i have one big graphics problem i need your help with. At first i noticed that the beams of the houses and the doors would blink and turn black. then it was also the shadows on the cliffs or any heavy shaded area. sometimes even the branches of trees and the stone paths would disappear completely. and on rare occasion it affects the character . the game is playable but very very distracting. I didnt notice so much of a graphics update and there was no warning from the game so could it be the graphic card im using? I have checked it for integrity and steam says it all good.

To add a final DLC that's 75% grinding stronger Chaos weapons whilst a blacksmith monologues at you for 5 straight minutes, saying Chaos every 4 words, and has a completely dogshit plot that tries to make out that killing Tirnoch was a bad thing, that free will is bad and fate is good, and has your character get exiled and never seen again.

That's a good summary of the DLC, yes. Also, the blacksmith design was terrible.

I don't think her visual design was too bad (though her arm clips through her constantly), but good god was her dialogue bad.
It's almost entirely either her admonishing you for doing the plot of the base game, or just her saying...
"get Chaos cores to make Chaos weapons and start using Chaos gems and Chaos potions and then salvage your Chaos weapons to make new Chaos weapons because Chaos is great and I love Chaos and we must defeat the god of Chaos using Chaos weapons that you get from Chaos cores inside Chaos rifts connected to Chaos gates and fight Chaos enemies who have Chaos health you must deplete with Chaos magic and Chaos Chaos Chaos..."
I literally just put down the game like 3 quarters of the way through Fatesworn because I was having so little fun.

I forced myself to finish it because I wanted to unlock all the game's achievements.

I never trusted that dude from the Orbicant. I believe they saw the Fateless One as a threat to their order and that’s why they wanted to send him/her as far away from their lands as possible.
Fatesworn was not intended to give answers. It was intended to generate questions that could form the basis of a new adventure.

The remaster is amazing, just overall improved, and you can have key more abilities on a controller if that is how you play.

I guess that the game owner wanted to see how much interest there would be in the setting, story, and gameplay if it was promoted to a bigger audience. They did add the Fatesworn DLC to the game.
It’s my additional guess that working on the game required some reverse engineering.
The market for games is also overflowing with offerings. So, it’s hard to stand out without a major investment.

From what I've gathered, the main reason the re-release exists is probably that they didn't/don't have access to the original's launch retail build. Here is a quote from a Kaiko dev's blog:
"Additionally, during development it turned out that the original game’s source code that was made available to us was from an unreleased development build, meaning it was missing some features and containing some new bugs not found in the original game."

One of the first things that happened when THQ Nordic bought the IP from the state of Rhode Island in 2018 was to make Reckoning 2012's Xbox 360-version playable on Xbox One, and then, 2 years later, they pulled it from digital sales along with the DLCs when they were about to launch the re-release.
Such a shame the original was pulled from stores. That version could run smoother on toasters than the re-release, despite using the same settings.

No idea, supposedly it was a graphical change but even that Is so miniscule it genuinely feels like a cash grab

It's possible it was legal like use it or lose it for ip or something, tax related or deal related to purchasing and waters testing? I don't know what exactly but some manner of red tape, strategy or tax planning.
It was stuck in limbo forever with Rhode Island owning it. So when THQ bought it I guess they figured a quick new dlc and minor things. As a lot of bugs weren't bothered with and just never will be fixed.
I honestly thing Re-Reckoning was just some strategy of theirs involving those things. Like a quick fix to whatever problem they may have had and they were/are planning to do something with the IP brand new of their own.
So to me this less of a product and more of a quick fix to their own problems. It was compiled, they rapidly made the new content to justify a new product and bam goals done. In future they'll clean slate with their real goal from the acquisition. All the same it's nice to have the dlc bundled up and a chance in hell now with THQ of something coming from the IP where as with RI owning it- none.
So the point of Re-Reckoning is to see something that was utterly dead and in limbo owned by a state resurrect hope. That's the big thing really.

There's a chest in a dungeon inside Ysa, stuck inside top of a pillar, since the original game.
It's still stuck there in Re-Reck 😂
