Question Switch 2 question- is the sky broken...forever?
It's so difficult to see the charm in this game's visuals when i can't look up. It's disorienting and looks god awful
Is this the same for every switch player? Is there a way to fix it? Is there hope for a patch that fixes it?

Does this change in a different region/area ?

Only in areas with no sky lol
The sky has been broken since i started the journey and no matter where i go, it remains broken

Afaik it's switch 2 specific. Definitely get it reported but a patch won't happen for a bit because of Nintendo's verification system for updates.

The issue is likely due to the Switch 2 running Switch 1 games in an emulator.
Nintendo discloses KOA issues on their Switch 2 Compatibility Site: https://switch-software-compatibility.nintendo.com/en-GB/details/0100ef50132be000
Each time Nintendo updates the Switch 2 firmware, they include emulator updates to improve compatibility. Hopefully KOA sees improvements on Switch 2 with future Switch 2 firmware updates.

To answer your question, no, that’s not the experience of every Switch player, just the Switch2 players. The game didn’t have the skywarp jankyness on the OLED, I know because I had it. This is the true power of the Switch2 in all its glory.

I was facing the same issue! Decided to take advantage of the steam sale and buy it on pc and play on there. Hope it gets fixed via a patch on switch 2.

It's unfortunately been this way for a while. I wanted to do a new playthrough but it's just unplayable in this state imo.

I'm still having fun with it but as a first time player this is a horrible first impression lol

I genuinely don't think that they should be selling it on the eShop for Switch 2. They should do like they did with Arkham Knight until it got fixed, it wasn't purchasable on S2 at all until it was patched. Which I think they should do for KoA.
It's not at all worth the price with such a major graphical issue and the majority of payers are just going to see a broken game.
I'm glad you're having fun with it though, it's one of my favorite games ever and it sucks seeing it in such a state.

I've considered getting it for another platform but I'd hate to do that only to find out that they patched the switch 2 version lol. I'd prefer to only buy the game once.
I'm surprised it's available for purchase too. I have to wonder if it was just not play tested on a switch 2

Idk, I submitted a report and screenshots to both Nintendo and THQ Nordic, just got automated responses. I was hoping they'd take it down temporarily, but no luck.
I love the game so much I have it on every ecosystem lmao. PS, Xbox, PC, and Switch. Switch was my favorite way to play. I did just get a ROG Ally though, so first thing I did was download KoA 😂

Not saying this to be a hater but this is such a wild and specifically Nintendo comment lmao.
Selling an entirely new console because you want to play decades old games on it.
"Just couldn't stand the ps5 I want to play my uncharted 2 disc so I had to sell the entire console"

Must be a Switch 2 thing, cuz I play on my original Switch and it's never had that problem

Tbh, I like it a lot. Like, it really gives the spooky vibe in the Webwood and the town where yoi get your first house. Idk how to spell it. 😅

Adapt 👍 still fully playable, I agree it's not that bad. People just loveeee to complain. 🤣

It's a wonderful game :) I hope more people get to play it. And sometimes you get a glitch like you do in Skyrim. 😅

You are not alone, I know that this isn't game breaking but I lost all immersion because of this bug and stopped playing it altogether, I'm thinking if I should continue the Fateless journey on my PC instead

I'd rather not buy the game again on another platform. I completed the main story but i don't plan on returning unless this gets fixed

You’re playing on a switch 2 and expecting a 10+ yr old game to look amazing…. I’m 60hrs in on Series X it’s an unbelievably fun game

How dare they expect proper optimization and performance for their new gen console and games with backwards compatibility. How dare they ...

I'm expecting the sky to not be broken.

The Switch 2 emulates the Switch 1 for S1 games, which means that some games have problems. There's even a list:
Amalur is an old game that is all but abandoned, so odds of a patch are low.

I was expecting a simple skybox not seizure induction .

u/No_Material_8994 May 02 '26
If that gives you a seizure you probably shouldn't be playing videogames at all. 🤔

I think the game has issues running on switch 2.
