Farkle [KCD2] The way Henry plays dice is not realistic and it would be more fun if they add a cheating system.
There's one thing that confuses me: why are both Henry and his opponent allowed to use their own dice, which are obviously weighted to their favor? In the game there are many tavern fights between npcs because of cheating in dice. And the most common way of cheating is using weighted dice. So if cheating is such a big deal, why can Henry blatantly use his own dice?
I think it would be more fun if, the dice rule states players can only use the dice provided at the table, with the exception of swapping a normal one with your joker die. But, before the game begins Henry can discreetly swap one or more dice with his own. This is considered cheating and if you do this, you risk getting caught on the spot.
The chance of success depends on Henry's thievery skill and the stake, as the more money you put down the more attention your opponent will pay to prevent cheating. If you are caught cheating, you need to either forfeit the bet and pay compensation, pass a skill check or get into a fistfight with your opponent.
Henry will have a reputation stat among gamblers. Just like general reputations it varies at different places and spreads geographically, but it's only modified by your gambling behavior. Getting caught cheating, no matter how you deal with it, severely damages this reputation while playing honest games boosts it. If your gambler's reputation is low your opponents become more wary when playing you and your chance of success in cheating decreases. If it's below a certain level people will refuse to play high stake games with you.
I think this is a fun idea and definitely more realistic than "We both use our own unbalanced dice, let's see who the better cheater is".
