How we behave here, matters.

One thing I’ve noticed about Reddit is the kind and thoughtful people on here. And once in an awhile, someone is so rude, so judgmental and just wants to fight and use their unkind words to disempower others. I’ve made it a priority to thank them for learning more about kindness! Through their unkind words, they teach me the value of caring, of being uplifting, and of forgiveness and appreciation. It’s how I’m reframing cruelty. I’m still finding the places within myself to forgive and to love. Being kind matters and it reverberates in the world. Its ripple effect is huge. Thats the world I’m creating, even though im cognizant of other humans who do not act from their heart/values and do not choose kindness. I will not stand for cruelty, I do not let it get me down. I continue to rise above and do what I can to make LOVE my mission! Sending love and good energy to the readers out there.

How "emotional softness" affects those around me

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hello all you wonderful living beings,

I often default to a state of emotional softness when dealing with people. Easing the anxiety and internal pain of others by extending a gentle healing hand always seems like the right thing to do if you're me.

Interacting with another person in this state causes them to slowly mirror those feelings, stubbornness, anger, frustration tends to simmer down, like a boiling pot that has been removed from the gas burner.

Often times, they just want to see that other people are considerate of them and mindful. This is where emotional softness almost seems like magic. You can see their conscious awareness expand in real time as the realization hits. "This is what being alive could be, this is how communities and people can really be like". This way of interacting with people often causes their illusions about life to break... For their whole lives, these folks believed that their human consciousness is limited to the state they currently find themselves in. They believed that humans are fundamentally broken like it says in the bible. I am here to tell you, that kind of thinking is wrong and it's designed to prevent you from evolving your conscious awareness.

I am here to show folks they can do and be so much more. If you see yourself as broken and never learn to fix the parts that bother you, you will naturally operate on a lower level of conscious awareness. My softness and the ability for me to harness it so easily comes down to my healing journey, fixing or integrating parts of myself that kept me on a higher level of conscious awareness.

Do you think kindness takes you out of yourself?

It’s easy to be so self focused and even selfish. But kindness helps you think outside yourself, see the bigger picture. I’ve been really down lately but found this sub. Just thinking of being kind and helping others already makes me feel tapped into something bigger.

Maybe that is what God is - the wholeness of things we can feel when we transcend our own self concerns. As I get older and realise how fleeting life is, the more I feel the only thing that matters is kindness. A life of being a good, helpful, kind person is a life well lived. All our achievements perish and will disappear. So why not be a good person to others?

Say what you think out loud

Everybody has a moment where they think woah that person looks so cool or pretty or maybe even unique. Okay so I hate to be one of those be happy all the time type of people. But I want to just say that spreading kindness when you don't feel like being kind to yourself is good practice for thinking more positively and more intentionally.

There are two situations that happened in last month that I keep going over in my head multiple times.

The first is when I complemented this random woman's outfit, and she stopped me, and she was gushing about how it was so kind of me to say something, because most people, even when they think something kind about another person they never say it out loud. And having the courage to say something can literally change another person's day and making that decision to just say something about her outfit literally changed my entire perspective on how people perceive different interactions throughout their day to day life. For me, it was just a thing of me saying you have a nice outfit, but for her it is someone who has noticed that she is put effort into her outfit today and that her being intentional and the things she chose got noticed.

The second situation is when I attended this job fair and I went to the bathroom, and as I walked out, I saw this woman with the healthiest looking brown here I'd ever seen, and I told her that I said your hair looks amazing and she turns around and she goes, "no, it doesn't" and I am confused on why she doesn't want to take it to compliment, until she says that she actually has cancer and her hair is falling out and it's thinning", and I told her, "like, I don't notice any of that it looks amazing and you look beautiful" and I went away from that conversation thinking that in order for her to say that so quickly and so abruptly and so easily is that she is constantly looking in mirror and thinking my hair is falling out, people notice. And for me to say, hey, your hair looks amazing. Maybe now she'll go back home and she'll think, wow, my hair really does look amazing.

And I just think practising seeing positive things out loud about other people instead of just keeping it in your head and allowing it to just pass by like nothing allows you to be really intentional in the way that you interact with other people, and the way that you even interact with yourself. Positive thoughts are not just passing through at that point, they become something that is prominent.

(I used text to voice for this because i had alot to say and my fingers type too slow to say it)

I can't Imagine the future anymore

I lost my ability to imagine future and have dreams about it .. because of years of being depressed and anxious .. and on survival mode wishing everything to get better one day .. and suddenly things got kinda better .. I moved on many things .. kept going and healing

But I still can't have dreams and passion and any idea about the future .. unlike how I was as a kid .. even in the hardest times I had dreams ..

I believe good things will find it's way to me .. and I see and feel light .. and I'm way more stronger, aware and mature now .. but I don't know how to dram like I did before ..

I really dreamed big ..

Help please ..

Being kind when nobody is watching

I think one of the most genuine forms of kindness is helping someone without expecting recognition or anything in return. It could be cleaning up a shared space, helping a neighbor, or quietly making things easier for someone having a rough day. Not every good deed needs to be announced or rewarded. Sometimes it's enough to know that you made a small difference in somebody else's day.

Sigh. What do I do. Tired of myself

Sigh

Yall can hate or ban me or anything I don't care atp. I'm down with depression, and severe depression for that matter. The only thing I enjoy is Fortnite, I recently started playing it and ever since the new skins dropped, fortnites stopped being enjoyable because of the fucking inferiority complex and feeling bad for not being able to buy the skins.

I would hate to use my illness for something like this as it sounds like an insanely crappy thing to do, but idk what to do anymore,

If someone has a Fortnite founders code/account that's unused and if you're willing to gift, you might just give someone a reason to live for a little longer. Have a great day

Early to bed for me. I might fall right to sleep as I didn’t sleep well the past few nights so if I don’t respond to someone immediately, I will tomorrow or the day after. Thanks as always in advance.

I was js scrolling and came across this.

A Blinkit driver saved a severely injured dog...healed it, and now the dog travels with him to his delivery locations.

how beautiful is this...reading such things makes me super happy because every day I see things where someone is assaulted or killed, even in public and people would js film it and not help....
Even humans are not helped, let alone animals.

What’s something small that instantly makes your day better?

For me, it’s when someone remembers a little detail about me that I mentioned weeks ago. It makes me feel like people really do listen, even when I don’t expect them to.
It doesn’t have to be anything big. Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference.

[REQUEST] Can you guys help me make this special project?

Post image
15 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I posted this about a month ago and had some amazing people help me out. I’m trying to finish the project by October 31, so I’m posting again in hopes of reaching a few more places!
I’m making a sentimental gift for my boyfriend, Luke, and I’m looking for people from different cities, states, and countries who would be willing to write:

“Luke—Anne Marie’s love for you is so big, it’s reached ______.”

Fill in the blank with your city + state/country, write it on a piece of paper, and take a picture of it somewhere in your area! It can be in front of a landmark, city sign, pretty view, recognizable location—or honestly just somewhere that shows a little piece of where you live (backyards count too😂) .
Then just comment the photo here or message it to me on Reddit.
My goal is to collect as many places as I can and put all the pictures together in a book for him. ❤️
I’ll put a reference photo in the comments so you can see what I mean.
Thank you SO much to anyone willing to take a few minutes to help a stranger make a really special gift. It genuinely means more to me than you know.
I plan on posting this finished product once it’s over!

Shoutout to everyone who has helped me so far.. I absolutely adore you ♥️

Sparen gehört also eher weniger zu meinen Talenten. 😄

Lost money, but I want to pay it forward anyway

Long story short - got a stage 3 cancer diagnosis, lost my job, had insurance but still bills pilled up, took a year, beat the brakes off cancer (yay, me!) Debt reached $180k, it's been two years, I got it down to $163k. Never got my job back but I have two part time jobs that at least are income. I get one job interview for every 500 resumes I send, so optimism is just a silly thought at this point. When it was clear I would survive, a close friend setup a GoFundMe because she didn't have money to offer to help and already had done everything for me possible as a true, beautiful friend.

After a month, donations totaled $0. She called me crying, saying she would sell her car and get a bike to help me. I begged her not to but my heart was broken for her, more than feeling sorry for myself. So I went to some other friends - all of whom have been good to me but I didn't want their money and they don't have a lot to give anyway. I asked them to donate as much as they could and I would give them the money back when it was transferred to me and I would pay them any fees that were deducted.

So 5 friends did that, some asked siblings to do it to and I wound up with $12,000 donated. My friend who checked my progress daily called me when she saw the first donation "Someone donated $50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She was the happiest person on Earth. Then every other day or so for three weeks donations of wild amounts came in. One friend, as an inside joke, gave $666 because I had beaten the devil. Everyday she would call with my new tally. Eventually the flow slowed and stopped, it took a while and I got the money and she closed the listing.

I paid everyone, most didn't accept the small percent in fees and we all swore to keep this secret from her forever. Now I pay my rent and bills on time and can afford food. I'm cancer free and that makes me feel like the richest person on Earth.

So these days RAM memory is wildly expensive. I had some that cost me $50, I don't need and others are selling on ebay for $200. So I sold mine on ebay for $150 and want to donate $25 6 times to Gofundmes that are very worthy and have $0 donations.

I'd like to consider people that post in here first because it seems they can be trusted as legitimate. So please suggest, if you like.
