Discussion للنقاش Job offer withdrawn with no notice after asking questions about contract 🤣

Question/Help سؤال/مساعدة pets allowed in business park?

I usually write my posts in arabic but... most of the arabic letters are erased on my laptop's keyboard but anyways. My friend and I want to go to the business park to check out the new food court and she might bring her dog though we are both unsure if it's allowed, probably not, but we just want to make sure; thank you in advance!

Question/Help سؤال/مساعدة APs vs A-levels

Hey guys, I don't know where else to ask this question so I'm just going to ask here. For a grade 10 student who finished her O-levels, do you guys think she should do APs or continue with A-levels? For anyone that studied either of them, what do you say about opportunities abroad, grades, difficulty, etc... please help and thank you 🙏

Discussion للنقاش Questions for locals from foreigner experience

Hello guys,

It is my first time in middle east countries and I‘m still learning how things are here. I’ve experienced some good things and some not so good and have some questions to improve for the bad ones when i encounter these situations in the future. Hope someone can guide me.

People trying to sell services/stuff

How do you guys deal with this effectively? When I arrived to Petra I got approached by a guy trying to sell me a taxi. I said no thank you about 3 times, he finally leaves me alone. Good.

After a couple seconds another guy approaches me trying to sell me the same thing. I was like ok, apparently telling them no thank you doesn’t work here, maybe ignoring and not making eye contact will work.

The guy got mad so I acknowledged him and said no thank you. He tells me they are not going to bite me and to show some respect. I was like bro I am showing respect by not making you lose time and energy with someone who will not be your customer and you are also showing me none … but ok.

Took his advise today inside Petra. I acknowledged people before hand and said no thanks. No one would take a no for an Answer and kept pushing, and i kept saying no thank you. One of the donkey guys got mad at me and ask me “tell me why you come here” “you dont have a heart you dont support people” … wtf.

Then I ran into some guys who i told no thank you on My way to the monastery, and they rushed to get me tea. I read that it is rude to reject tea and they tell me that but at the same time i was like brother you only giving me tea to pressure me into buying from you, so i said i was in a rush. They asked me to come have a look at the shop on My way back and I agree, and they made eye contact with me telling me “because you are man” … whatever.

On My way down they of course are waiting for me so I say yes I will have a look as we agreed. I have a look, they don’t have anything that I want to buy so I tell them there is nothing that I want to buy and thank them. Then the guy starts flipping telling me I didn’t keep My word.

I agreed to look, not to buy? That is the exact reason i rejected their tea to begin with …

In the end, I ended up buying a scarf from a woman who was never pushy. She still tried to scam me with 70JOD which I need up buying at 25, and even then a friend i made from a restaurant told me he would sell for 10 … but ok whatever, I wanted to support her.

Dealing with personal questions

What’s up with guys asking you personal questions after 5 minutes of interacting with you? Example i was at a coffee shop and a guy takes a seat. We chat a bit and he asks me “are you alone?” “where are you staying” … like bro chill. If it felt so uncomfortable for me I can’t imagine how a woman would feel. This One I am not sure how to react to. I of course tell them a lie and move on to another topic.

Thanks guys appreciate your feedback.

Question/Help سؤال/مساعدة Anyone Jordanian study in Hungary?

Hello everybody I just graduated IB and after graduating I decided that I want to study to become a vet, because of many reasons I cannot study vet in Jordan so I decided to widen my view and after seeing many friends go to university in Hungary I decided to look into that and I found my dream university which is the university of veterinary medicine in Budapest I was hesitant because I don’t have the money for a university in Budapest the I found out about the Hungarian stipendium scholarship, now my main question is how hard is it for a Jordanian student to get this scholarship and in addition I don’t understand how to apply for it as most of the sources I’m looking at are telling me about an office I have to physically go to which made me even more confused.
Please any advice!?

Hello I have finally started my guitar journey in classic and electric guitars the question is, do I need a musical institution or I can learn it at home? Is weed really as enforced anymore? Do people even use it in Jordan? And what would happen if I brought a weed vape into Jordan as a tourist?
