Does anyone else feel like Maggot King is one of the worst designed bosses Jagex has released? Fire spells feel bad, range feels bad, bludgeon will hit a 70 followed by 57 zeros and 1's. 150kc in and i seriously do not think i will every get the gear from the boss because of how bad this boss feels to kill. 3/4 of my time is spent getting him down to the first melee punish it feels like.
It pains me not to open these, but I don't want to have to discard a ton of master clues. I ran some numbers and I think I have to drop like 25% of my master clues when I hit a roadblock on a step that require items I don't have.
Items I still need for masters include:
Falo: 2/20
Armadyl helm
Infernal axe
Tzhaar ket om (65k tokkul)
Emote: 5/25
Bandos boots + Obsidian cape (78k tokkul)
Bandos godsword
Black dragon mask(from hard clues)
Bryophyta staff
Obby shield (58.5k tokkul)
Zammy godsword
The items that require tokkul I'm fine buying, but the rest, oh boy, the grinds are brutal. I do have a zammy hilt, so I just need to get the remaining shards, but the remainder is very rough in terms of hours to grind.
Arma helm: This is one I'm considering skipping to hunt. I heard bowfa is atrocious, and shadow to me is like a 1k hour grind.
Infernal axe: I don't know what Cerberus is like nowadays, I do have all demonbane weapons.
Bandos boots: I have to learn the 6:0 door method or something, I'm not looking forward to this, people say it is easier to do than you think, but I suck at timing.
Bandos godsword: I hear this is good at TOA, but like with the boots, I do not look forward to doing this grind where I need to be tick perfect because I suck at that.
Black dragon mask: This is a skip for me, it is like 1/1625 from hard clues, totally unreasonable to try and get, especially if I go dry.
Zamorak godsword: I just need to get the shards, I still get scared at doing GWD content because of the huge time commitment for Kree'ara or tedious and frustrating to kill for Graardor.
I'm thinking I just gotta put up with the grinds but leave the arma helm and black dragon mask grinds alone, accepting like a 7-8% clue failure rate.
I finally completed Bloodmoom Rises WOW what an amazing quest that was. The devs who made that quest did an incredible job. But now that it’s over and got into Vampyrium I’m underwhelmed especially comparing it to SOTE and Priff.
Feels we got this zone half finished. I really hope they add more features to it that are impactful to our accounts.
Or am I wrong and you found a lot of use from Vampyrium?
I have the usual void scobow anguish setup but no blowpipe. I’m learning Doom and finding it tough. I can consistently get to 5 but have yet to get to 6, through a mixture of getting ko’ed or running out food. Currently, I have been mostly using pray pots and hard food on the basis that these are easier to obtain/more expendable than brews/restores.
I saw a comment in a thread a few days ago which I agree with which was that a lot of guides online are all centred around deep delves and using brews/restores. Does anyone have a good inventory setup for someone who wants to build up to, and perhaps hit delve 8 but not really go any deeper at this stage?
Got a Slayer task of 246 Araxytes and decided it was time to start the Araxxor grind. This is the setup I’m currently using for my kills, and right now I’m averaging 4 kills per trip.
I made some extended anti-venom+ potions, but I’m not sure if it’s worth using them here yet... my kill times are usually between 1:50 and 2:10 minutes.
For my route, I’m using Home Teleport -> Fairy Ring (ALQ) -> running to the entrance. After my 4 kills, I teleport to my house, use the Ornate Pool, bank, and head back.
Does this strategy/setup make sense for now, or should I change anything? Also, does it make sense to stick with Araxxor right now, or should I be grinding something else at this stage?
Got insanely lucky 1kc tablet but the kc was absolutely miserable phase 4 gave me jad hands. Surprisingly full blood moon set was pretty okay against the boss and felt so good getting the proc while doing husks
So at the moment i have decided that 1 synapse is something i want to rush and get out of the way. I have spent now around 15 hours ingame time to get a task for them, no luck.
Should i just start the grind off task for the first one? My off task setups would be eclipse armor set + atlatl and archlight. Is there something to unlock that would make off task grind better? The 2 i can wait for later, but i want to start sending doom and scobow would make zenyte grind so much better.
Sent a run last night because I was tired of worrying about it. It was late and I think I accidentally switched off my prayers because I got blown up by a ket-zek on wave 53 before I even knew what happened.
I've done the caves a ton of times, but only on my main which has significantly better gear, prayers, and stats. I had forgotten how unbearably tanky the ket-zek are and most of my prayer use comes from simply camping protect mage while they're there which makes dealing with the rangers a bit hard at my defense level. Thankfully, they usually go down pretty quick. Is it just a fact of life at my stats that this is going to suck or is there something I could do better without too much more time spent on it?
Some thoughts:
1. I have enough bone shards to get me somewhere around 63/64 prayer which I intend to do before I send another run
RCB and broad bolts seem to be much more accurate and can hit harder, but the slow attack speed would cancel that out.
There are a couple of accessible enemies (Tarn's lair zombies) that drop range potions. I could farm up a few of them for the ket-zek and jad waves but that sounds abysmal.
Any advice would be helpful. I just want to get this crap out of the way so I stop thinking about it.
Edit: should mention im trying to lazy flick eagle eye on the ket-zeks but the sunlight crossbow fires so fast im having trouble with the rhythm. Id say I got it about 60% of the time.
Long time player with almost maxed main but had stretches of time away from the game. Came back in June after being gone for a few years, decided to start an iron last week. Gotta say I love the feeling of getting my own drops and being resourceful.
I just wanted to ask people what pitfalls to maybe avoid and maybe some underrated methods? I haven’t done most of this content since 2015. Keeping up with modern day guides also feels kind of wrong for the spirit of the account but I don’t want to get trapped doing metas from a decade ago.
I was killing Ice Giants in the wildy slayer cave to get a Magic Shortbow Scroll when this happened. The wiki lists the drop of 1-2 Blighted anglerfish as 1 in 10.1. And they dropped 5 times in a row! No scroll, tho.
Hi ironscape, wanted to get some advice on solo TOA.
Current gear: Bofa with crystal, anguish, fury, all moons gear, ayak without conflictions, dragon sword.
Stats: maxed range, 90 mage, base 80s melee.
My best stab weapon is the dragon sword unfortunately.
A lot of people say to just do kril for the hasta, but am I coping in thinking I could just do TOA till I get a black gem? Even without the hasta with my current gear is 300s reasonable to do?
Wondering if there are any bosses out there primarily farmed by Ironman for drops and progression but ignored by mains due to lack of profit or just easier to buy the uniques
