Help DUST INSIDE CAMERA LENS

Post image

I got my iPhone 18 Pro Max and there's a speck of dust inside the top camera. Should I get it replaced within the 14-day window, or is it just a lottery?

It’s unusable. Don’t return it. Throw it away and just buy a new one.

Almost every phone has specs of dust underneath the camera lens and it acceptable to a certain degree. My old 13 pro has some and my friend's 16 pro max has it and my current 17 pro max has it too and i have no issues in any of the phones i mentioned so unless you see a defect in you photos then replace but if not its normal

Having read a number of posts on this sub since the release, I’m now convinced the majority of people here have a severe mental illness. The level of fixation on a phone is astounding

Another completely pointless post.

Go worry about something worth your while.

You see how it's nowhere near the actual camera lens? You'll be fine.

You'd also be shocked at how often real cameras get dust in lenses and how that doesn't have an impact on image quality.

It probably won’t affect the quality of your pictures, but it would annoy me to the point where I would return it.

Well now you have 47,999,999 pixel camera rather than 48 megapixel

Same, almost identical! Up to you whether or not you want to swap, but you could end of with another possible manufacturing QC issue and wished you had just kept the original one.

Will 100% not affect the image. They will look at you like you’re insane and you will feel insane brining it in for service.

Remember: you’re going to be boxing this up to trade it in in a few years. Think of this you’ll feel about the phone at that time and act accordingly.

AppleCare replacement, I had this with my 16 pro max went to the local Apple store (made a genius appointment) and had it swapped out. As long as you’re within the year. (Given it’s a 18 pro max max) duh

I had a mark and thought it was a speck of dust but my camera lens scratched in the 2 weeks that I had the phone.I went back and they exchanged it for me and the manager said that the lens is are known to scratch easily on the 18.

Not a pointless post at all. If it is inside the lens, Take a photo against a white wall or background with whatever lens is affected. I had the same a few gens ago and a tiny dark spot appeared when on white in images. I couldn’t even trade it in to third parties because they called it a defect. I would have swapped it instantly if I knew the pita it would end up being.
