Unable to block unverified contact?

There is a Debbie who is either giving out the wrong number or used to have my number and I get calls and messages for her all the time, which is fine, I just block and move on but I’ve come across this one that doesn’t have a number and I can’t block it? It texts me almost daily and I’m not sure what to do about it, wondering if anyone might be able to help?

When I press “block contact” it literally does nothing- the button lights up like it’s done something but then it doesn’t.

I’ve obviously refreshed the app/ restarted my phone and I would manually add it as a blocked number in my settings but there is no number??

I am well aware that it could be a scam so I have not clicked on the link in the messages.

If there's no number it's probably coming from an email address or a business sender, which is why Block Contact doesn't seem to stick. Open the thread, tap the name at the top, and see if it shows an email you can block from there. Failing that, look under the messages for Report Junk, which reports it and deletes the conversation. Also worth turning on Settings > Apps > Messages > Filter Unknown Senders so anything not in your contacts goes into its own list instead of your main inbox.

I would copy the link and open it in the private tab. It doesnt magically suck all your information unless you give it out. That way you might see what company it is and contact them or they might have ”quit receiving” button.
