AI Assisted I made a mod that lets you rename basically anything in HOI4: your country, leaders, parties, factions, states, cities, your leader's picture, country flag, even your subjects!

Hi People. I recently watched a video on the mod On The Clouds Of Heaven - The Final Judgement and I'm really confused as to what this Satan sprite is supposed to be? If anyone knows more than me please let me know. I feel like I'm very well educated on the Catholic and Orthodox faith and I'm confused as to what the hell this is supposed to be.

The capstone focuses and formable available to Iceland in my mod. Most of the focuses are about what type of government you'll get. You can have a bunch of types, even communist or fascist ones. But you also get access to a small foreign policy branch.

The foreign policy branch starts off by you determining if you'll be neutral or not. You can be historical and join NATO, or join any other available faction. And if that's not your speed, you can become neutral.

You then get focuses where you send demands to Denmark about its Atlantic territories. You can demand Faroe's independence, which is the same regardless of government type. However, the Greenland focus works a little differently. If you have a left-wing government, you will demand their independence. However, if you go any other government type, you will demand its annexation. This is to represent how the Icelandic communists were the only party that supported Greenlandic independence and opposed the Icepandic claim to Greenland.

Then you get a choice on what to do with your Atlantic neighbours. You can form an alliance with them, the West Nordic Council. Or you can united with them into the West Nordic Federation where you propose a unification of the three islands. Greenland is less likely to accept than Faroe for historical reasons.

And then you also get an option to buy Jan Mayen off of Norway.

Discussion [Mod Concept] Hearts of Iron IV: A Century of Alternate History (1910–2026)

Hello everyone!

I'm looking for feedback and potentially collaborators for an ambitious Hearts of Iron IV mod concept.

The idea is to create a century-spanning alternate history experience, with multiple starting dates:

- 1910: The age of empires and the road to the Great War.

- 1919: The aftermath of the First World War.

- 1920: Revolutions, reconstruction and political instability.

- 1936: The rise of new international blocs.

- 1939: A world approaching another major conflict.

- 1945: The beginning of a possible Cold War.

- 1950: A changing international order.

- 1991: The transition towards the modern world.

The long-term goal would be to allow players to continue their campaigns towards 2026, with evolving technology, national focus trees, political systems, diplomacy and alternative historical outcomes.

The initial inspiration comes from my own Great War Redux campaign, in which Germany won the First World War in 1915.

By 1922, Germany dominates much of continental Europe through the Reichspakt, Austria has reorganised into a multinational Habsburg monarchy, France is divided between a syndicalist Commune and a republican government in exile, Britain has established an Imperial Entente, and the Russian Republic has survived a Bolshevik uprising.

One possible 1936 scenario would feature four major factions: the Reichspakt, Imperial Entente, Danubian Federation and Third International.

This is currently a concept and planning-stage project, not a playable mod. I'm new to HOI4 modding and would like to learn while helping with historical research, worldbuilding, national focus design and project coordination.

I'm interested in meeting people experienced in scripting, focus trees, map editing, graphics, technology systems and balancing.

The intention is to develop the project in manageable stages, starting with a small playable prototype rather than attempting to build the entire century immediately.

I'd love to hear your thoughts, suggestions and whether anyone would be interested in helping develop the concept!

Discussion How do I get started making a vanilla expansion mod?

I'm very new to HOI4 in general, and I've never modded anything before. However, all I'm trying to do is add a couple expansion branches to a pre-existing national focus tree and change some country cosmetic tags. flags, etc (specifically for the battle for the Bosporus dlc Greece national focus tree). My end goal is just to give the Byzantine Empire more content. I feel it's quite lackluster, honestly, and I want to give you a choice to reform the Roman Empire as a whole as Greece, not just the eastern half. I also want to add in something similar to the Napoleonic France tree that lets you balkanize Germany if you conquer them, since a conflict with the Germans is natural for the reborn Roman Empire, and of course to be able to core all of the old territories of the Roman Empire at it's peak/move your capital to Rome if you want, since currently all you can core is Italy, the Levant, and the Balkans. I don't want to write a whole new tree, just add these new focuses as a branching path. Is there a visual tool that I can use to make these focuses, or do I need to write the code by hand?
