I’m the founder of 1V1 Spades LLC, and I’m organizing a competitive card gaming event at the Greensboro Coliseum on December 19.

I’m looking for experienced tournament organizers, especially those who already run 2v2 Spades tournaments, who might be interested in co-hosting.

The idea is to bring multiple tournaments together under one roof, including:

Traditional 2v2 Spades tournaments
Competitive 1v1 Spades
Other card games with established tournament communities

I’ll be handling the main event planning, venue coordination, and promotion. Co-hosts would operate their own tournaments, with space and logistics worked out together.

I’m especially interested in organizers from Greensboro, Charlotte, Raleigh, and surrounding areas.

The goal is to build a bigger competitive Spades scene and give established organizers an opportunity to reach new players.

I shared the release of our EP. It was not planned to be tied to Halloween - we started this process some time ago, and through a mix of being older and schedule issues, it just took quite a while to complete it.

But, as we are right up on Halloween, and the title track is Haunted, thought it would be cool to throw something together that was a bit on the darker side.

So I moved into a new neighborhood and cats are fuckin everywhere. I feel like someone owns these cats cuz they all look well feed and grown. They shit in my yard and mess up the grass, my final straw is them sitting on my cars and one scratched/ shit on my new car. Really don’t want to be the big menace and go accusing neighbors. 1-2 cats roaming I can tolerate, but we’re talking 7-10 all on one dead end street. If I got a dog and let him roam and shit in everyone’s yard all hell would break loose. I’m about to start sitting outside with a BB rifle( not really, I’m cruelly joking) , but I want to be humane first. Any local resources?

If you’re in Greensboro and looking for a meaningful way to help locally, the David Wilson Food Pantry could really use a few more hands.

In September, the pantry served 581 people across 219 households — all in just four distribution days. More than 7,500 pounds of food went straight to families, seniors, and neighbors who needed support. It’s run almost entirely by volunteers, and the impact is huge.

Each month we distribute fresh produce (yams, peppers, cucumbers, onions), proteins (chicken, fish, pork, shrimp), dairy, pantry staples, and low‑sodium canned goods. We also provide infant supplies and hygiene items. A lot of the fresh produce — 612 pounds this month — comes from partners like Second Harvest Food Bank, Aldi, LCOF members, and Jamestown Presbyterian Church.

I am one of the organizers of a small convention that centers around one single miniature skirmish board game taking place on Jan 15-18, 2027 and I am looking for a venue to rent.

This is our 3rd year and we expect between 40-60 people to travel from across the country to participate in our event. Previously, we hosted this event at a local game store that had a large open space for us to occupy privately for the duration of our event. That store has moved a few doors down from their old location and although it's a good thing for the store as the space is more welcoming, they no longer have the space to dedicate to our event so we are scrambling for a replacement.

Does anyone know of any spaces that would be willing to rent to us for that weekend?

We are a respectful group and only require a venue, internet, and climate control (although that's not a hard requirement.) It would be awesome if the venue had tables and chairs available, but if not we can source our own.

Most of the hotels I've spoken to don't have a room quite big enough for us, and many of the event spaces I've looked at are geared towards weddings ie the space is rentable for an evening, not 4 days, and the fee is $100/hr which is just out of our budget.

We would need access to the space from Jan 15-19, 3pm-11pm on Friday, 8am-11pm on Saturday and Sunday, and 8am-3pm on Monday.

Hi all! I was looking for a more affordable vet for my 13 y/o boxer to undergo a dental procedure. Just wanted to see people’s experience with sheets pet clinic for doggy dental services (as they seem more kitty oriented).

I also was going to have them look over a spot I believe is a hernia, and potentially fix it at the same time if possible. Sooo any doggy surgery experiences will be helpful outside of the traditional spay/neuter

Also any other cheaper dental recommendations will be appreciated :)
