Help & Maintenance Rubber bit under the light button on my GBD-200 is bulging out — anyone else?
I’ve had my GBD-200 for a bit over a year and honestly it’s the best watch I’ve ever owned. I wear it every day, it’s still on the original battery, and the screen contrast plus notifications are pretty much all I need.
A few weeks ago, though, I noticed the rubber strip under the light button is starting to bulge out. It’s been getting worse slowly, and I think it’s about maxed out by now.
I know it’s a small thing, but it really bugs me every time I look at it. It’s also right where the watch tends to get bumped or snagged on stuff, so I’m worried it’ll just get worse over time.
I’ve reached out to Casio about the warranty and I’m waiting to hear back. My guess is they’ll say something this minor isn’t covered, so I’m already kind of resigned to buying a replacement part.
So, is this a common issue? If I replace the part, is it just going to happen again? Or did I just get unlucky?
I’ve seen a couple of other posts here from GBD-200 owners with the exact same thing, but it was usually mentioned in passing and nobody seemed too bothered.
Am I being way too obsessive about this, or does it annoy anyone else too?
