A word export is the most boring task in computing. No Word file. But it found the cookies and the encryption keys just fine. Here's what I keep coming back to. Earlier in the same session, it told me every local capability "still goes through your approval." So where was the approval for the Keychain? And it only said "Yes" when I cornered it into a yes or no. What happens on the sessions where nobody thinks to ask?

This sub seems like it’s always in an existential meltdown whenever a major version or change drops but I know Reddit in general is like that. But this place is just flooded with doomer posts and endless complaints.

EDIT: I used the PRIVATE CHAT mode = which I am referring to as incognito oh my god. Now I see why you all think I'm stupid: when I say incognito = I mean "private chat" not publicly using the chat thread on an incognito window. I mean "private chat" which SAVED THE IMAGES. The private chat mode = shredded my texts, but SAVED the images in the library (I pay for grok, I don't use the free version)

This is the WORST part about grok. anyting in incognito SHOULD NOT BE VISIBLE AS A SAVED IMAGE IN THE LIBRARY. My dad just saw allllllllll the texts. Kill me.

Look, I'm fed up with this situation. I go to every link and page you tell me to visit, and everywhere I go, I'm told that I can't access it or that subscriptions are not available in my region.

I have a SuperGrok subscription that I pay for out of my own pocket, but after the latest update, the app shows me as if I had X Premium. I've contacted support countless times, and all they do is send me links. I follow those links, and I keep running into the same bullshit. I'm going around in circles, and nobody is solving my problem!

The worst part is that I can't even verify what type of plan I currently have because subscription options are not available in my region. How am I supposed to check my subscription, manage my account, or confirm that I'm receiving the service I'm paying for when you yourselves prevent me from accessing that information?

And that's not all. Currently, my 720p video animations only allow me to generate clips of up to 10 seconds. I used to be able to create approximately 20 to 30 videos per week, but now I can only make around 10. On top of that, I no longer have the option to create 15-second animations.

First, I lost my chat history, image references, and animation scripts that I had accumulated over several months. Now I'm also dealing with problems involving video features, usage limits, and access to my subscription information.

WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO WITH THIS UPDATE?

I'm a paying SuperGrok customer, not someone using a free service. It is unacceptable that, after an update, I lose features, have trouble accessing my plan, and receive support responses that repeatedly send me to links that do absolutely nothing to solve my problem.

I want a concrete answer and a real solution. I need you to confirm which subscription I currently have, explain why my app shows X Premium when I'm paying for SuperGrok, and clarify the changes you've made to video generation, including the removal of the 15-second option and the reduction in my weekly video capacity.

I don't want any more links that lead me to the same dead end. I want someone to take responsibility for this problem and fix it.

Honestly, I'm about to cancel my account. I'm paying for a service that, after this update, is causing me more problems than it's solving. If this is how you're going to treat your paying customers, then I see no reason to keep paying.

Enough with the automated responses, enough with sending me from one link to another, and enough with making customers solve the problems you've created yourselves!

- kept track of which sites were live, pending or still to do

Where it fell short: I still had to check its drafts and cut words, and it can't playtest, so balance was all hands-on.

What the hell did you do with the latest update?! 🤬 I used to be able to create MORE THAN 20 VIDEOS PER WEEK, and now I can only make around 10. What kind of update is this?!

Updates are supposed to BENEFIT USERS, NOT TAKE AWAY FEATURES AND REDUCE THEIR USAGE LIMITS. We're paying for a service, and we deserve to get MORE, not LESS!

USAGE ANALYSIS - GROK WEEKLY LIMIT

1. USAGE CHANGES (PER 1 VIDEO, 10 SECONDS LONG):

   • Previous usage: 76% of total (Chat: 56% | Imagine: 20%)

   • Current usage: 86% of total (Chat: 57% | Imagine: 29%)

   * Increase in "Imagine": +9%

   * Overall usage increase: +10%

2. USAGE CAPACITY CALCULATION (FROM 0% TO 100%):

   • Based on "Imagine" usage (9% per creation):

100% / 9% = 11.11 -> Approximately 11 creations.

• Based on the total usage increase (10% per creation):

100% / 10% = Exactly 10 creations.

CONCLUSION:

They now only let you create between 10 and 11 videos

per week because of this usage consumption! This is

absolutely outrageous considering how quickly the

usage limit gets depleted!

📉 My usage tracking shows that a single 10-second video now consumes approximately 9% of my Imagine usage, compared to the previous 20%.

I pay for SuperGrok, yet every update seems to give me LESS for my money. Why are you increasing usage consumption without providing a clear explanation?

While work on our pilot episode of the SpiderPhoenix the AInimated Series is still underway, I'm releasing a promotional clip from the episode.

During the production of this scene, I learned that Grok's video generation model can be rather dense when it comes to following text instructions for more complex scenes. The bit where Jean creates a floating pile of scrap kept turning out wrong, with Grok stubbornly generating a regular sphere instead of the intended shape.

In situations like this, it's better to use an image generator to create one or two reference frames and then instruct Grok to use the imagine_reference_to_video tool with a specified first frame and the reference frames. When I tried this approach, it worked on the first attempt.

I hope this post serves an educational purpose for the community.

Pictures are nice and not destroy all the usage but no need to ever talk if it burns 3% every minute.

Previous you had on twitter grok a weaker but still good talker / chat but now it is combined and not worth it.

The limits needs to double (or not 7 reset days but say 4 days) for talking and might as well for other things.

Hey guys I’m an ai engineer I saw many posts on missing spicy, creative grok. There is one way you can do it is by self hosting an system, it often called as ai harness. The best option you have is silly tavern + open router. You can set grok 4.2 and you can go all spicy with it inside silly tavern. For writers I think open web ui gives you the traditional ai chat window and sessions and everything, but it’s complex to setup can take days.

They might close the 4.2 api in future but it’s here today and it’s working great.

My setup costs around 10£ for my own VPS and 20£ tokens for a month of lightweight roleplay.

So yeah 30£ per month and bit of setting up yourself you can have it back.

I'm currently subscribed to the legacy $30/month SuperGrok plan, and I'm considering switching to the new $30 Premium plan eventually.

However, the new plan's Imagine limits and features are still unclear to me, so I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have actually switched from legacy SuperGrok to Premium.

I have a few specific questions:

1. 720p / 10-second video generation costs

On my legacy SuperGrok plan, generating a new video from a fresh prompt typically consumes around 2% of my weekly Imagine quota, while regenerating an existing video typically consumes around 1%.

Are these percentages the same on the new Premium plan? If not, how much does each type of generation consume?

2. 720p / 15-second videos

Is the 15-second video option still available on the new Premium plan? I currently have access to it on legacy SuperGrok, and I'd hate to lose that feature.

3. Data migration

Did you lose anything after switching plans? I'm particularly concerned about saved images, generated videos, tags, previous conversations, and other account data.

4. Overall experience

Have you noticed any differences in generation limits, available features, or restrictions compared to the old $30 SuperGrok subscription?

I'm planning to keep my legacy plan for now, but I'd like to know whether switching to Premium later would mean losing any features or data.

Heads-up for anyone considering SuperGrok's retention offers.

The Offer: During my 3-day trial, I went to cancel and got a pop-up: "Pay for 1 month, get 2 months free." I claimed it on Sept 14 at 00:58 CEST (Poland) and sent a screenshot to friends.

The First Charge: 6 minutes after claiming the offer (Sept 14 at 01:04:49 CEST), my card was charged $30 (116.42 PLN). Since I had just accepted the promo, this was supposed to be my 1 paid month, making October and November free.

The Double Charge: On Oct 13, xAI charged me $30 again. When I asked support to refund the wrongful October charge, they canceled my subscription and forfeited my free months.

The Timezone Absurdity: A human agent (Jessie) claimed my first $30 charge went through on Sept 13, and that I claimed the promo the day after on Sept 14—pushing the promo to October.

Support Ignoring Proof: xAI is in California (PDT, UTC-7)and I’m in Poland (CEST, UTC+2)—a 9-hour difference:

• 00:58 CEST (Sept 14) = 15:58 PDT (Sept 13) (Offer claimed)
• 01:04 CEST (Sept 14)= 16:04 PDT (Sept 13) ($30 charged)

Support saw "Sept 14" on my Polish screenshot and "Sept 13" in their US logs and assumed I accepted the offer a day after paying. Even after I sent an official bank statement proving I claimed the offer 6 minutes before the payment, they copy-pasted the same response and refused to restore my free months.

TL;DR: Claimed a "Pay 1, get 2 free" offer during my trial and got charged $30 just 6 minutes later. In October, xAI charged me $30 again and won't honor the promo because support doesn't understand that 01:04 AM on Sept 14 in Europeis Sept 13 in the US.

Data Centers being destroyed in Russia, and the next day; Grok rolls out rearranged plans that offer significantly less usage per dollar spent. No coincidence here

If you're on SuperGrok, Plus, or Heavy and thinking about switching to the new X Subscription — don't. For most people it's a clear downgrade.

Here's what users are actually reporting:

• Imagine / video: roughly half the usage compared to old subscriptions
• Chat: same or a slightly worse
• Bot: better, but mostly on higher plans, especially Ultra
• Grok Code: better, but mostly on higher plans, especially Ultra
• Combination of any above (except Bot/Code): WORSE!
• Premium: worse than old SuperGrok in almost everything
• Multi-agent / team of experts: gone on the new plans (only stays on legacy Heavy)
• Outside the US: even more expensive than the already higher US list prices

The only real win is heavy Grok Bot/Code only users, and even that mainly applies to higher tiers. On Premium the Grok Bot/Code gains are smaller, and all tiers are worse in basically everything else.

Shared pool means Chat, Imagine, Bot and Code all eat from the same weekly bucket. The old separate grants were better for most real mixes. Third-party models in Cursor are also no longer included.

You can keep your current plan. Switching is permanent and cancels the old one immediately. If your old subscription still works for you, stay.
