I run a very small business so I'm the IT, HR, Sales and Marketing department all in one. Today while using our info@domain email via Google I got locked out. I received a message on the screen that says "Administrator has cancelled your subscription to Google Workspace.". So I went to our original email of [businessname@gmail.com](mailto:businessname@gmail.com) and that is working but is not the admin account. How do I find out which email I used as the admin? This was done years ago and we haven't had to do anything like this before. We were working on a really important project in our Drive and now we can't access it at all.

I'm totally lost.

I'm having trouble activating Gmail for my Google Workspace domain, and I'm wondering whether it could be related to a DNS TXT record I accidentally deleted.

I originally verified my domain through Google Workspace using a TXT record, but I mistakenly deleted that record from my DNS settings.

The domain still shows as **verified** in Google Admin Console, but I'm unable to complete Gmail activation. I've looked through the Admin Console and can't find anywhere to retrieve the original verification token or generate a new one.

I also have a separate `google-site-verification=...` TXT record associated with Google Search Console.

I'm trying to understand a few things:

1. **Are Google Workspace and Search Console verification TXT records interchangeable**, or does each service require its own token?
   
2. Could deleting the original Workspace verification record prevent Gmail from activating, even though the domain still shows as verified?
   
3. Is there a way to retrieve or regenerate the original Workspace verification token without removing and re-adding the domain?
   
4. Does Gmail activation depend on the original domain verification record, or is it entirely separate once ownership has been verified?

I'm hesitant to remove and re-add the domain because I don't want to create additional problems.

**Additional context:** I'm not sure whether the missing TXT record is actually causing the Gmail activation issue or whether I'm dealing with two unrelated problems.

Has anyone encountered something similar or know how Google handles verification across these services?

I am a longtime Google Pixel phone user and Google Fi subscriber. I am now also a small business owner.

I have my phone configured with my personal Gmail address as the primary account that I set up when I initialized the phone. I have my small business running on Google Workspace Standard and have added my workspace account to the phone as well.

Whenever I say "Hey Google" and try to do some task like read my calendar, create a calendar event, create a task or note, etc, it always does this on my personal @gmail account. If I try to instruct it to do these things on my work calendar/tasks/email, etc, it says that it cannot access them.

I have tried asking Gemini how to grant access and it has been unhelpful. I think it recently told me that "hey Google" was a personal assistant and that it cannot be used on workspace accounts. Is this really true???

I feel like what I'm trying to accomplish cannot be that difficult. Digital assistants are meant to help us accomplish things in both our personal and work lives - there often is no true separation between the two.

What am I missing?

We are a nonprofit that used Google Workspace paid service before our application to Google for Nonprofits.

Today, Google for Nonprofits validated our Workspace for Nonprofits product activation.

In a heartbeat, our super-administrator was kicked out, all of our email addresses associated have been signed off. We tried support, but human support is off.

This interruption cost us a lot because we are unable to access some specialised email addresses and keep going with our activities.

If anyone as any information, we would be glad to hear from you.

I'm on Google Workspace Enterprise Standard, trying to prevent Gemini from accessing confidential Drive documents.

I've configured two DLP rules:

• One based on a classification label.
• Another based on matching text content.

Both are active, organisation-wide, with Block data access enabled.

The logs confirm Content matched and Block Gemini access — Action complete.

Yet Gemini can still read the documents perfectly, whether I attach them or ask Gemini to find them in Drive.

I've waited over 36 hours and tried editing files to trigger rescanning. No difference.

Has anyone successfully configured this? Am I missing something obvious?

Hi all, could really use some help. So I signed up for a domain email through my personal website on Weebly/Squarespace, which funneled me to the trial with Google Workspace. The interface was just too confusing for me so I decided to cancel it. I thought I canceled firmly within the trial window (Sept 30), but maybe I missed something (again I was confused by the interface).

I removed the auto-renewal on my credit card directly on the reseller site (Weebly) since Google Workspace instructions seemed to suggest that all billing was handled through them if your domain is hosted by a third party. On 10/2 I got a small charge of $3.92. I thought maybe I didn't cancel fully, and checked on Weebly again (that showed no autorenewal) and I went to Google Workspace Admin and saw there was a user (my website domain email) still on - I thought that might have accidentally triggered the small fee, so I deleted it and canceled everything I saw on Google Workspace directly (it's been a while, but I think I deleted any billing info). I thought everything was ok, but then I received another odd small charge of $0.54 from Google Workspace on 10/9.

Does anyone know where these phantom charges maybe coming from? It's starting to worry me that maybe there's something active that I don't know about, and now that I've been fully kicked out of Google Workspace Admin, I can't go in and see any activity. I've contacted Weebly but haven't gotten a response. Any help would be great. Thank you!

Update: Ok, so I did remember I got invoices sent to me as PDFs from [payments-noreply@google.com](mailto:payments-noreply@google.com) (mailed-by: scoutcamp.bounces.google.com). I clicked "Make payment" on the email and it leads to Google payment center, but doesn't show any bills or documents? Have I been scammed?

I have been using Google Drive (GD) across three devices for a while: an iPhone 15 Pro Max, an iMac, and a Windows 11 PC.

* On the PC: I have the Google Drive desktop app installed.

* On the iPhone: I use the Google Drive app.

* On the iMac: I access GD via a web browser (due to the machine's age, it doesn't support the Google Drive desktop app for macOS).

Recently, I have been constantly dealing with the following frustrating and exasperating issues:

1. There are unpredictable instances where GD fails to sync correctly across the three devices. Specifically, while everything is always perfectly in sync between the iMac and the iPhone, the PC rarely syncs correctly or fully. I first noticed this by chance and began monitoring it systematically. Unfortunately, my suspicions were confirmed... It acts unpredictably and erratically, and I can't pinpoint the root cause.
   
2. Suddenly, GD won't let me sign in on the PC. When I launch it, the GD app redirects me to a browser to enter my Google account credentials, which are accepted successfully. But later, when I return to—finally—start using the GD app, it has stopped running and persistently displays this message: "Can't launch Drive for Desktop. Something went wrong, and Drive for Desktop couldn't launch. To launch Drive for Desktop, try restarting the application." Naturally, I’ve tried various fixes found online. None of them solve the problem; the GD app still refuses to start, even though I successfully authorized my account.

Is there a kind soul out there who can solve this PC-GD issue for me? I believe that once the PC issue is resolved, the three devices will finally work together in harmony.

These three devices—as they are—work and sync flawlessly with other services like Dropbox, Apple iCloud, Microsoft OneDrive, Mega, Sync, etc. Only the GD desktop app for Windows 11 constantly causes these issues (regarding PC sign-in and synchronization).

Unfortunately, Google seems almost exclusively focused on its AI products these days, neglecting its foundational products—which it likely takes for granted, assuming they are flawless. Yet, it is precisely these "older products" that largely keep its customers loyal. If this persistent ambiguity and unreliability around Google Drive continue, I will cancel my Google One subscription. I am already looking for "solid" technological ground, rather than just technologies for show.

we’re on google workspace with around 220 people. gmail doesn’t let admins push a signature, so everyone builds their own.

you can guess how that went. i found three different versions of our logo in the wild last week.

is there a sane way to centrally manage this? i’ve seen add-ons mentioned but i’m wary of anything that wants broad access to everyone’s mailbox.

I'm having a frustrating issue with my Google Workspace billing, and I'm hoping someone who has experienced this can help me fix it.

Last month, I couldn't pay my Google Workspace bill on time, so Google suspended my services. I added a new card and successfully paid the outstanding bill, and my services were restored.

However, my old virtual Visa card is now permanently blocked, and Google still has it listed in my billing account. It shows “Account closed”, and Google says it can't be used as my primary payment method.

Here's what I've tried so far:

I've tried 5 different cards, including bank cards, debit cards, credit cards, and virtual cards.

Two cards couldn't be added at all.

Two other cards were added, but Google wouldn't accept them for Workspace payments as a primary or backup account.

Whenever I try to change the primary card or remove the old one, I get errors such as:

`OR_BACR2_31`

`OR_BAFIPMH_26`

I've also tried the Pay Early option. It lets me select a card for payment, but it doesn't offer the option to use that card for future recurring payments. At one point, it also showed that no amount was due.

I checked Google Payments Center, but I couldn't find any verification alerts or warnings. I also don't understand whether my payments profile is restricted or whether there's another issue with my account.

The problem is that I need to remove the permanently blocked card, make my new card the primary payment method, and ensure my Workspace subscription can renew automatically without interruption.

Has anyone experienced this issue or found a solution?

Is there a way to resolve these errors, or does Google Workspace Support need to fix something on the billing account?

Hi guys I’m desperate for help. I signed up to a Google business account and created a email with the domain I already owned. Once I’ve done this. I seem to have lost access to my personal email address every time I try and log into my personal email or recover my personal email. It’s successfully just automatically logged me into my new business account. Is there any way to revert this or get my personal email back? Is this lost for good?

I’ve tried logging into my personal email from incognito mode. I’ve tried logging out of everything and logging back into my personal email. I’ve tried to recover recovery of my personal email. Everything seems to revert back to my new business account once I do those actions.

ok so we tried to standardize email signatures for the whole company and I made one stupid Google Workspace OU mistake. I mapped the new sales template to the interns instead of the sales team, then hit publish because the launch was supposed to happen before our customer webinar.

For about two hours, every email from our interns had the head of sales signature, direct phone number, calendar link, and a banner saying “Talk to our sales team.” Meanwhile the actual sales team had blank signatures. Nobody noticed until an intern replied to a prospect and the prospect asked for a pricing call with “the head of sales.”

I feel so embarrassed. IT had to roll back the rule and we had to explain the weird replies before the webinar started. We’re adding a test group now, but I still can’t believe I did this. Anyone else had an email signature rollout go this wrong?

My Studio Flow looks like this:

• visitor submits their website
• Gemini creates a 4 page business brief on their website and content strategy.
• document is created and an email is drafted.

Currently on Standard business plan.

I'm only running this in a quick burst of 3-5 days before it slows down dramatically.

Just so frustrating that I forgot to cancel my renewal 3 days ago, and now I’m stuck with a year long contract. There is NO support no way to speak to anyone about billing… all support is automated. I know it’s my fault for forgetting in time but also 3 days is a reasonable time for grace period to ask to cancel the subscription. I’m just so frustrated that I’ve spent already over $240 last year on the contract and google workspace has NO human support whatsoever. That is egregious.

UPDATE:
I chatted with the workspace support chat bot. It gave me the usual shpiel saying if I cancel now, I’ll need to pay the closeout charges. I literally wrote « I wish there was a grace period ». To which it replied, actually YES I am within a 14 day grace period! And that it can transfer me to a human support representative. I said yes please! And then a human support agent came on and sorted it out no problem. He switched my account to a flexible plan so I can close my account without any closeout charges.
So if anyone has the same issue, you need to ASK the support bot about the grace period!

I log in to my account using a 2FA authenticator, but the verification code keeps showing as incorrect.
However, when I try to recover the account on the Google account page, it asks me to enter the 2FA code again.
Is there really no other way?

Has anyone managed to recover a domain when Google's recovery form won't even let you verify it?

I bought the domain through Google Domains in 2023, and it migrated to Squarespace in 2024. I'm trying to add it as a secondary domain to my existing Workspace account. It isn't listed in my Admin Console, but adding it gives me: “This domain name has already been used as an alias or domain.” Crazy!

Google support says their records show another active Workspace organization associated with it. An earlier agent identified Squarespace as the reseller. Squarespace can't find a Workspace subscription and is asking for an invoice. I don't have a Workspace invoice and haven't been able to confirm that a subscription was ever purchased for this domain.

I have access to the DNS through Wix, but Google's domain-in-use recovery form stops at “Domain is managed by a Google Cloud Partner” before I can reach DNS verification.

I've asked Google for manual ownership verification and Squarespace for a product specialist to check the migration and reseller records. Still waiting on both.

If you've got past this exact block, what finally worked? Did support need to look under an old primary domain or a different account? I'd really appreciate hearing which team found the missing record and how you got it escalated.

One of my users has shared a Google Doc with several people in our company, giving them editor access. For most, the sharing worked as it should, but for one person it did not. When she clicks on the "open" link in the notification email, she is asked to sign in as the owner. And, of course, she can't do that. Screenshot attached in comment.

Context: The affected user is the admin aide of the document owner. She has delegated access to the owner's email (but cannot sign in to Google using the owner's credentials), reciprocal photos sharing, and access to a top-level folder in the owner's Google Drive in which the owner puts most, but not all, of her documents (sometimes within subfolders).

I have no idea why the admin aide cannot open the doc when it is shared with her in regular fashion. She is able to open docs without issue when they are shared with her by others, but she really needs to be able to open docs shared by her supervisor.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. (I am one of the Workspace admins for the company, if that helps with suggestions.)

Hello, it's my first time in google workspace with 4 license users. After setting everything up to verify the MX, SPF, and DKIM in our domain host "CloudFare" why does the incoming external email always lead to spam inbox? Did I miss another step for this? or is it really normal?

Edit: My apologies for the oversight. I initially did not realize that the issue was limited to the group collaboration email and did not affect the four individual Google Workspace license users.

Upon reviewing the group conversation, I confirmed that emails from external accounts are approved but are still being automatically classified as spam in the inboxes of the members of that particular group.
